Smiles

Chapter 6

In The Morning

In the soft embrace of dawn, I awoke from a most extraordinary dream that filled my heart with an unknown joy. I was lost in a passionate embrace with Lord Sesshomaru in this ethereal realm. It was a moment of pure bliss as our lips met in a tender kiss, leaving me with an unforgettable smile that lingered upon my waking face.

As I stirred from my slumber, my eyes fluttered open to behold a sight that sent shivers down my spine. Before me stood the very Lord Sesshomaru himself, patiently awaiting my awakening. With a gentle bow, I greeted him, "Good morning, Lord Sesshomaru," a mere whisper escaping my lips. His response was a simple grunt of acknowledgment, a stoic facade that concealed the depth of his emotions.

Yet, beneath the composed exterior, I could sense a flicker of warmth, a spark ignited by our shared dream. The memory of his silver hair cascading down my face played repeatedly in my mind, its silky softness still palpable. It was as if the dream had transcended the boundaries of reality, leaving an imprint on my heart that was both bittersweet and exhilarating.

A sigh escaped my lips as I whispered, "If only it were real life." The longing in my voice was palpable, a yearning for the unbelievable to become reality.

As the sun cast its golden rays on the tranquil forest, Kagome and Lord Sesshomaru continued their perilous journey. They had been traveling together for a day now. Kagome had proven to be a formidable warrior, capable of quickly slaying demons. While Lord Sesshomaru was impressed by her strength, he remained aloof and distant.

Kagome and Lord Sesshomaru encountered a fearsome demon bear on this particular morning. The beast was massive and powerful and charged at Kagome with unwavering ferocity. But Kagome was not afraid. She drew her bow and arrow and let loose a flurry of arrows, striking the demon bear in its vital points. The bear roared in pain and fell to the ground, defeated.

Kagome stood panting, her body weary from the battle. "I've killed the demon bear, Lord Sesshomaru," she said, addressing the stoic demon lord.

Lord Sesshomaru turned to her, his golden eyes glinting in the sunlight. "Very well, Miko," he replied. "It seems your power has gotten stronger since the last time."

Kagome was surprised and pleased by his words. She had been training hard, and it was gratifying to know that her efforts had not gone unnoticed. "Thank you, Lord Sesshomaru," she said, a genuine smile spreading across her face.

Lord Sesshomaru nodded slightly and turned away, continuing on his path. Kagome followed after him, her heart filled with a mix of admiration and gratitude. She knew that Lord Sesshomaru was a complex and enigmatic figure, but she was determined to gain his complete trust and respect. And so, they continued their journey together, facing challenges.

Later In the afternoon.

In the serene tranquility of the lush forest, Kagome's voice gently broke the silence as she approached Lord Sesshomaru during their journey. "Lord Sesshomaru, how about we pause for a lunch break?" she asked respectfully. Sesshomaru acknowledged her request with a subtle nod, his countenance maintaining its composed demeanor. Kagome bowed gracefully, acknowledging his consent, and Lord Sesshomaru found a suitable spot to rest, closing his eyes and entering a meditative state.

Kagome's heart fluttered with awe and admiration as she observed the mighty demon lord. His silver hair cascaded over his shoulders, contrasting with his striking amber eyes, exuding an aura of nobility and strength. Determined to make the most of their break, Kagome set off towards the nearby river, eager to gather some fresh fish for their meal. She skillfully cast her line into the crystal-clear waters, her keen eyes scanning the surface for any signs of movement.

As luck would have it, Kagome soon found herself with a bountiful catch of fish. Her heart filled with joy, and she carefully selected a few to share with Lord Sesshomaru, knowing he would appreciate the gesture. With nimble fingers, she crafted a sturdy basket from the surrounding plants, ensuring the fish would remain fresh and well-protected during their journey back.

Returning to where she had left Lord Sesshomaru, Kagome approached cautiously, her footsteps light and silent. She noticed that he seemed to be asleep or perhaps in a deep state of meditation. Not wanting to disturb him, Kagome gently set down her basket and crept closer, her gaze lingering on his serene features.

Just as Kagome reached out to brush a stray lock of hair from his face, Sesshomaru's hand suddenly shot out, swiftly gripping her wrist. The unexpected movement startled Kagome, and she drew closer to him, their faces mere inches apart. His amber eyes flickered open.

Kagome's heart pounded like a drum in her chest in intense closeness, each beat reverberating through her entire being. Her face was tantalizingly close to his, a mere inch separating them. Their gazes collided, locking together in a mesmerizing dance of unspoken emotions. A slow, steady blush began to creep across Kagome's face, a testament to the intimate tension that was building between them. The air around them seemed to shimmer with palpable energy as if the universe held its breath in anticipation of what would happen next.

With her heart pounding, Kagome struggled against Lord Sesshomaru's grip. His fingers tightened around her wrist, and she could feel her skin bruising beneath his touch.

"Miko," he said, his voice stern and unforgiving, "Cease the attempts to free yourself."

Kagome's body went still. She knew that further resistance would be futile. Sesshomaru was a powerful demon, and she was no match for him. She could only hope that he would spare her life.

Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed as he stared at Kagome. He could see the fear in her eyes, and it ignited a fire of anger within him. How dare she defy him? She was nothing more than a human, and he was a mighty demon lord.

"You are mine now," Sesshomaru said, his voice low and dangerous.

I averted my gaze from Lord Sesshomaru's piercing eyes, but my attempt to escape his intense stare was futile. Before I could turn away, his other hand gently grasped my chin, guiding my face back towards him. The warmth of his touch sent a shiver down my spine, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of conflicted emotions. Fear mingled with curiosity as I met his gaze again, unable to resist the magnetic pull of his enigmatic presence.

"Lord Sesshomaru, Please-" My speech was interrupted by a kiss

A kiss that was rough but passionate. I embraced the kiss and did not give a damn in the world. We finally parted, panting. "Lord Sesshomaru… Why did you kiss me?" Again, my speech was cut off short with another kiss.

Kagome and Sesshomaru's eyes met, and the air around them seemed to crackle with the weight of their shared past. But as Sesshomaru spoke, a frown creased Kagome's brow. "Miko, do you not remember what you did last night?" he asked, his voice low and intense. Kagome blinked, her confusion evident. "Huh? I didn't do anything last night," she replied, her tone even and measured.

But as the words left her lips, a flicker of doubt crossed Kagome's mind. She closed her eyes, trying to recall the previous night's events. And then, like a floodgate bursting open, the memories came rushing back to her. It wasn't a dream after all.

Kagome gasped, her eyes widening in surprise. She remembered everything now—the passion, the intimacy, the raw emotions that had flowed between her and Sesshomaru. It had been a night of unbridled desire and unfulfilled longing, and now, as she stood before him, the weight of what had transpired pressed down on her like a physical burden.

Kagome's face flushed as she realized the full implications of her actions. She had crossed a line, a boundary that she had never intended to cross. And now, she had to face the consequences.

In her heart, she quivered with trepidation and longing. The sun, in the celestial dance of sunlight and shadow, spoke. Feelings between her and the enigmatic Sesshomaru were finally coming to light, and she could no longer deny the intensity of his gaze. With a heavy sigh, she turned her head away, her lips forming a frown that betrayed her inner turmoil.

"If it wasn't a dream... Why did you accept it? Why didn't you push me away? I know you don't like me," Kagome uttered, her voice laced with resignation and vulnerability.

With his unwavering gaze, Sesshomaru gently brought her face back to meet his eyes. His expression held a depth that Kagome had never witnessed before. "Miko, you drive me crazy," he confessed, his voice a low, husky murmur. "Your scent, presence, strength, humor, personality..."

Kagome's breath caught in her throat as Sesshomaru's words washed over her like a soothing cascade, filling the void within her. With trembling hands, he brought her palm to his chest, where she could feel the thunderous beat of his heart.

"It's racing!" Kagome exclaimed, her eyes widening with a mixture of awe and disbelief.

"It is, Miko," Sesshomaru replied, his gaze intense. "This Sesshomaru does not wish to push you away but to make you mine."

The weight of his words hung in the air, a promise that sent shivers down Kagome's spine. At that moment, under the sun's watchful gaze, Sesshomaru kisses her forehead.

Sesshomaru released Kagome from his firm grip in the fading sun, resuming his unhurried stride. Still reeling from the unexpected intimacy, Kagome scrambled to her feet and hastened to catch up with the tall demon lord. A gentle smile graced her lips as she realized the depth of his feelings for her. Unlike his half-brother, Inuyasha, Sesshomaru no longer held her at arm's length. They walked side by side, their hands brushing against each other with every step.

Kagome's cheeks flushed as the memory of their earlier encounter flashed through her. Summoning her courage, she reached out and tentatively took his hand. To her surprise and delight, Sesshomaru did not pull away. Instead, his long, slender fingers curled around hers, enveloping them warmly and steadily. Kagome's heart fluttered with a mixture of joy and trepidation.

A sense of tranquility enveloped them as they journeyed through the sunlit forest. The demons they encountered bowed their heads in respect, sensing the unspoken bond between the mighty demon lord and the courageous mortal girl. Kagome felt a surge of pride and affection for Sesshomaru, realizing that a heart capable of deep emotion lay beneath his aloof exterior.

That night.

In the fading light of dusk, Kagome and Lord Sesshomaru reached a secluded spot for their nightly rest. The day they had spent together had been filled with adventure and camaraderie, and despite their vastly different backgrounds, they had come to form a deep bond. Kagome's heart fluttered as she turned to Lord Sesshomaru, her eyes sparkling with a tender smile. "Is there anything I can do for you, Lord Sesshomaru?" she asked with gentle concern.

Lord Sesshomaru's gaze met hers, his golden eyes holding a depth of emotion that Kagome could not decipher. After a moment of silence, he shook his head slightly.

As Lord Sesshomaru closed his eyes and entered a meditative state, Kagome felt a profound sense of tranquility over her. She understood his need for solitude and reflection and moved a short distance away with a nod of respect to begin her meditation.

As Kagome settled into the meditative pose, she could not help but feel a tingling sensation at the back of her head. A faint stirring of her spiritual energy prompted her to turn, and her heart skipped a beat as she met the steady gaze of Lord Sesshomaru. His golden eyes seemed to pierce through her soul, and Kagome found herself lost in their depths. She smiled softly, acknowledging his presence, and then returned to meditation.

Time seemed to flow effortlessly as Kagome and Lord Sesshomaru meditated. When Kagome finally opened her eyes, she realized Lord Sesshomaru had fallen asleep. A sense of peace and contentment filled her as she watched him rest.

Finding a comfortable spot near his magnificent moko moko, Kagome carefully lay down, resting against the sturdy tree trunk. Unexpectedly, the moko stirred and gently wrapped around her, enveloping her in its soft warmth. Kagome's breath caught in her throat as she felt the comforting embrace of the moko moko. It was as if Lord Sesshomaru, even in his sleep, was offering her a silent gesture of affection.

Grateful for this unexpected act of intimacy, Kagome closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, her heart filled with love and gratitude for the bond she shared with Lord Sesshomaru. Their journey together had been transformative, and as the night enveloped them, Kagome knew that their love for each other would only grow more robust in the days to come.
