Tazanna • A Heartfelt Prayer
Daia remained with her eyes on me; if they were daggers, I would have already been bathing in my own blood right now. My back was leaning against the countertop; there was no more left for me to run to. In her hand was a kitchen knife that had been lying around here earlier, and her eyes were glimmering red. I scanned the room, looking for a weapon for myself, but Daia had swung her arm as I ducked and dashed out of the room. The lights were flickering, which made it a little hard for me to see the way but was helpful as it could slow Daia down.
