Had Gone Missing

Almost a week had passed, and Adriana returned to the Helene Mansion while Astell had not been home for nearly a week.

Meanwhile, Adriana was keeping her busy while preparing a present for Issac. There was no way she would let him go just like that.

"Yashiro, have you prepared what I had asked you to do?" Asked Adriana, who heard Yashiro sigh while appearing in front of her.

"Master, you're harming your body just for a revenge present."

"Since when did you get into my own matters?" Adriana coldly asked Yashiro, who kept his mouth shut after. "Remember your place."

"I apologize."

"Yes, it's going to take a toll on my body, but it doesn't matter. Either way, it's not like I'll live a long life," snickered Adriana. "Hel, deliver this present in my stead."

"As you wish," whispered Hel.

"All we have to wait is for a letter..." Paused Adriana, who smirked. "No, they might storm into this palace on their own feet."

"Master, you scare me," commented Yashiro, which sounded exaggerated but isn't.

"About what?"

"Your red eyes remind me of that grim reaper. It kind of scares me."

"Maybe he loved my red eyes, which is why he signed a contract with me," joked Adriana, which Yashiro sighed for the nth time.

"Master, I'm just worried about your body. Since you've made a contract with that grim reaper. Your body is starting to lose pure magic."

Adriana stood silent, but Yashiro did not regret telling her those words because he was just worried. If Adriana dies, he will return back to where he belonged. And he did not want that.

The place where he used to live. He hated it. The underground world, or what people call hell.

Even a demon like Yashiro hates living in the underground world. He doesn't wish to go back there. It was hell. Hell in an inferno.

"If that guy finds out about this. I'm sure he would do something stupid. Anyways, I'm out to monitor Hel."

Yashiro, that rascal. He didn't have to drag Astell into this matter. Their life as a couple is different from her own life. That is how things should go. This is why Adriana must keep it in the dark.

"What does this have to do with him?" Adriana muttered and rested her head on the window. But because of him, there wasn't a single day that she felt so lonely. "It would be nice if you were to come back home soon."

A week had passed since they last saw each other. An urgent matter came, which Astell had no choice but to deal with. It seems like the barbarians had moved to a different location and are camping near small villages within the territory of the Skydane family.

As the family successor, Astell had no choice but to lead his troops to suppress them. But this time, things were a bit different. The problem lasted a bit longer than expected. This might take at least one or two months to be solved.

It means that Adriana will have to live alone in the huge mansion. But she was summoned back because of the present she had sent to the Belladonna mansion. Which Adriana gladly accepted.

Adriana could have rejected the offer, but she wanted to see the bitter faces of those people. In a way, her efforts weren't put to waste. Issac must be lying in bed with a high fever. It would be nice if he died because of her gift.

A carriage from the Belladonna family was sent to the entrance of the Helene Mansion. The fully painted black carriage had scared most of the servants since it was their first time witnessing an ominous-looking carriage.

"How impatient can they get?" Sighed Adriana as she got into the carriage, only to be greeted by Issac, who smiled at her.

Her hands froze, and the smile on her lips turned into a frown. Who would thought that he would come here personally to greet her? Adriana had underestimated him.

"Very impatient. After you sent that gift, I couldn't help but miss you," chuckled Issac, who forcefully pulled her into the carriage.

Their faces were close to each other, but the grip on her wrist made it impossible for Adriana to move. Since resisting was futile. Adriana played along.

"Miss me? In your dreams," Adriana gently placed her hand on his cheeks. "I was hoping to see your dying body in bed."

The coldness from her hand made Issac shiver yet excited. "Adriana, you've underestimated me," said Issac, who used his magic but then, in an instant, it was dispelled. His expression turned blank then he laughed. "I'm impressed. That man must love you so much. I'm wondering what tactics you did to make him fall for you?" Issac shook his head. "No, I'm wondering how many men have you brought to your bed?"

The answer was none. Adriana had not once slept with Astell. All they did was sleep on the same bed, and the next day he was gone.

"Why should I answer you when you know the answer?" Lied Adriana. "It's none of your business."

"You must be wondering where your husband is."

"And what do you know?" Adriana reminds a calm expression on her face. Though she did feel a bit of chest drop.

"I'll leave that to the butler who had been watching us since earlier," Issac pointed at the window and let go of Adriana. "Then I can't wait to hear from you."

When the carriage disappeared from her sight, Adriana rushed to Ford, who had an anxious expression. Her eyes grew wide hearing the news. She wished it was just a dream. But it wasn't.

"The master and his troops have gone missing."

"Tell me. How many days has it been?" Adriana asked Ford, who gulped but straightforwardly answered.

"Six days. We've lost contact for about six days now."

"Then why didn't you tell me earlier?" Adriana asked Ford.

"It was under the commands of His Grace. He had ordered me to report to you if we've lost contact for a week now."

I know this chapter may not be the best but it is all according to my plan. I personally love the next chapter and I can't wait for you guys to read it!
