Angry at her true-mate, Andor, who did not save himself for her, she decides saving the kingdom is more important than having a mate. Is it possible for her fated mate and her to be together? Ashina had made the decision that love would not be part of her life at that point. As Ashina's heart was broken at sixteen, she realized that it was time to build an army to reclaim her kingdom.

Chapter Fifty-One Cadma's Mate?

Cadma's point of view –

Why didn't Ashima ask me if I wanted to help with the training of those pups? I do not understand why she asked Andor to help her train instead of me. I promise you; I am going to take her away from here when I come back.

Irlas –

"It's time for you to shut up you stupid human! There is no way she can be our mate! My position is that, if you mate with her, I promise to make sure that the Gods pair me up with a different human for me."

Cadma –

"How can you deny me love, Irlas? Are you really so cold-hearted? I only love Ashina."

Irlas –

There is no love between you and her, you idiot! The only reason you have the illusion you love her is because you haven't conquered her yet. Once you have conquered her sexually and emotionally, her wolf scent will become more apparent to you. She will become a revulsion for you, not the love you thought you had with her. You have been warned repeatedly by me, do not try to be a mate with Ashina. You will lose me if you do. The decision you make will be regretted!"

During the training, I watch as the girl of my dreams is laughing and teasing Andor, showing the trainees what not to do in the event of an armed conflict in the future. I watch as he comes from behind for what is supposed to be a sneak attack, grabbing Ashina by the waist. That is not sparring, that is flirting, and it hurts because even though Ashina may not realize she is also flirting with him.

Turning around and feeling sorry for myself, I headed back to my room to sleep. The next day, when I awaken, I will be able to fly back home with Gandor. In any case, I need to get some supplies to take Ashina away from here so that she can spend some time with me, hear my heart, and give me a chance to make things right for us.It is my stupid dragon that won't help me take Ashina up into the special cave in the mountains where I often retreat to when I'm stressed out and I need some peace and quiet.

When I return, I'll steal a vehicle and drive to the mountains, then I'll use some knockout drugs I've gotten from my clan's hospital. In order to keep Ashina sleeping, I will continually inject her while I transport her to my cave at the top of the mountain. It will be impossible for anyone to find her there.

The thought of a positive future fills my heart with hope, and a plan has been set in motion.Sleep has taken over my body.

When I woke up, I went over to Gandor's room and told him we would be heading back to the clan as soon as I was packed. It was evident from his countenance that he did not want to go.His head nodded in complacency as he sighed. My belongings were packed up as I returned to my room following a shower.

A few weeks ago, I forgot to inform Ashina about my findings from a Golden Pack clan.My research revealed that there are a lot of Golden dragons.Sun dragons are nearly extinct, so the clan I went to would not tell me about them, but they would contact the clans who had knowledge of them, and let them know we had a Sun Dragon whelp. My dad was not reached by them from the previous visit I had with them, so I was curious whether they had reached out to him or not by now.

Gandor met me on the training field. As all the warriors were at work or school right now, it was empty. Which was OK, it annoyed me that the mutts ogled us in amazement. It was like we were some kind of freak show. It's amazing how ignorant these mutts are.

Flying amongst the clouds, my scales caressed by the wind, I was so eager to take flight. I couldn't understand why I would want to run on the ground like those stinky mutts, when the skies were so open and free. As my wings spread, I was enchanted by the feeling.

Looking at Gandor, I smiled, "Ready?"

A broad smile spreads across Gandor's face with a hint of melancholy, followed by a nod of agreement.Spreading our wings, we take to the skies. So no humans will try to shoot them down from the sky. Irlas reminds Gandor's dragon to wear the invisibility cloak.

Looking down, I noticed Ashina waving goodbye, her eyes filled with tears. My hope was that the tears were for me, but I knew they were for her brother, Gandor.

I had made a game out of flying home. I made a bet with Gandors dragon. Whoever is home first by touching down on the snow first in front of the castle, gets a day off from school, or work. Gandor and I were practically chasing each others tails trying to take the lead.

Gandors' dragons laughs came out in roars chuckling and shaking the clouds and they whipped around us.

I let Gandor win upon reaching the castle. After shifting back into my human form, Gandor followed suit and shifted to his human form as well. Walking up the steps, I headed to my father's office. I take in the smell of roasted marshmallows. Looking at Gandor I smiled.

"Do you smell the marshmallows? Maybe we will get smores today?"

Gandor shakes his head no and looks at me like I am crazy.

Irlas --

"There are dragons in your father's office. I can feel them, and something is off. They are not of our clan. That smell! It is light, I think it is our mates smell."

I laugh at my dragon, "Sure it is. I don't have a mate, I only have Ashina."

Irlas -

"Listen, Jerkoff, our mates smell is in your dad's office and if you mess it up for me, having our mate. I will totally leave you and I promise you this. Most humans who lose their dragons wither away and die. Do you understand me, human?"

"Irlas, you are such an over-dramatic dragon."

Upon opening the door, I was surprised to see a young male about my age with a light scent of what I assumed to be my mate. It is definitely not me who is his mate. There's something wrong here, since I love females. A feeling of anger and control is taking over me as I feel Irlas angry. In spite of my attempts to hold back Irlas, he takes the young dragon by the throat and partially overtakes me.

Irlas -

I can smell my mate all over this whelp and I want to tear him apart limb by limb.

"Whelp! Why do you smell of my mate?!!"

I felt my father running over frantically trying to grab ahold of me. I know he is sending for the guards to get me under control. I wanted to choke the life out of this whelp.

My father yells, "Let go of him so he can explain! If you kill him you will not know where your mate lives."

This is when Irlas gives me back control and I drop the whelp hard onto the floor.

Crossing my arms, I glared at this stranger as he stood up, brushing off his pants.

"I am from the Golden Aurelian clan. I hugged the princess of the Sun Dragons before I left. She is my girlfriend and my fiance. She is also the Whelp's sister you have with you."

Gandor rushes forward from behind me, and angrily spats, "I already have a sister. What nonsense do you speak of?"
