Where Are The Boy's Parents

“Yes, but I think I broke his right arm.” Morris sounded like he crossed a milestone, “Man, it felt so good. He was one of the guards who shot dad.”

As Morris speaks, tears begin to fall from his eyes rolling down his cheeks. Peter hugs him, and says, “Morris, though at the time, we didn’t know each other, let alone our parents. But, since we became brothers, our families are one. I promise, we will avenge uncle. All five, I won’t forget their faces.”

Wiping his tears, Morris say, “Let’s go back, brother must have come. He’ll be angry not seeing us home.”

As expected, the boys reach home to hear Vonruil saying, “What do I do? Where are they? I looked in al, the nearby streets. The shops are closed.”

Then Sam hears a knock, so he runs to open the door. Seeing the boys, he hugs them, and says, “Brother is angry,” then suddenly “Morris, how did you get hurt?”

Vonruil comes over and takes hold of Morris’s hand, and says, “What happened? Sam, is it serious?”

“Brother, there are some scratches, but nothing serious. I’ll apply antiseptic, and some ointment. He’ll be fine in a while.” Sam takes Morris to the table, and gets his first-aid kit.

“OK, gonna tell what happened?” Vonruil asks in a worried tone, “Skip the phone part.”

Morris was going to tell, but Peter stops him, and says to let him tell.

Taking a sigh, Peter says, “We were coming back, when I noticed someone was following us. We were worried if the person followed, he would find out about brother, so I made a plan. I told Morris to go separate ways, and whoever is being followed will ditch him, and meet back at the bridge.”

Morris puts his hand on Peter’s hand, and says, “It’s ok, Peter. I won’t cry now. (Taking a sigh) The man was one of the guards who killed my father back at the camp when dad helped us in escaping.”

The moment Morris says it was one of the guards who killed Morris’s father, Vonruil gets angry, and says, “Morris, don’t worry. I’ll make each one pay back with their life.”

Peter says in an excited tone, “Brother, Morris broke his right shoulder. I didn’t know he had the ability though.”

Looking at his hands, Morris says, “Actually, I also didn’t know I had the ability. But when he mentioned dad, it’s like energy flew into me.”

Sighing Xiander says, “Morris, when you’re on the field fighting, trust me energy will keep flowing. And, once Vonruil trains you, you’ll be able to take down anyone, and we all promise to avenge your father’s death. His death won’t be in vain.”

Smiling, Morris says, “I know. Actually, when he disappeared…”

“Disappeared?” Vonruil asks in a curious tone.

“Ah, yes. Kind of in thin air.” Morris says, trying to explain.

“Morris, the guards, were they of Ethor? I mean, were they his men?” Vonruil asks in a curious tone.

“Actually, they are humans, because the one I met today was from my neighborhood.” Morris says in a confused tone, as he can’t understand why Vonruil is concerned about this fact.

“Morris, if he’s a human, how can he disappear into thin air?” Vonruil says questioning.

“If so, then they have found a way to give humans powers as well.” Xiander says in a stern tone mixed with worry, “Which is not good for us.”

“Don’t worry, tough I am not sure if I can give any powers to the boys, but one thing I know,” Vonruil says explaining “A normal human being can awaken his five natural elements. This is going to be the focus of out training for Peter, and Morris as well.”

Xane is quiet throughout the conversation. Then he looks at Sam, and says” Sam, you and Peter, where are your father’s?”

Xiander instantly scolds saying, “Xane, think before you speak. This is not the time.”

Sighing, Peter says, “It’s OK Xiander. Xane is curious, and after hearing about Morris, it’s only viable to want to know.”

Sam begins to fidget with his fingers, and says, “Xane, we have parents. A mother, and a father. Mother is the one who gives birth to us. Father is the one who works and raises his family. (sighing) Me, and Peter, our fathers died when we were young. Our mom’s raised us. Whatever we had, we were happy, till the war broke out.”

Sam continued saying, “Peter’s mom was coming home from work, when the allied ships attacked. She got killed at the spot. Peter found out two days later on seeing the tablet with her picture for the families of the deceased to recognize. My mom got separated from me when the ice sheet was made by Xanbis. A week later, we found out no one survived as the temperature was beyond human’s ability. Morris’s father was killed by the guards, when he stalled them so we could escape. His mother passed away at the camp, from lack of medical help.”

Morris clenches his fists, and says “Brother, it’s not only me, or them, all of us have lost someone in this war. We need to avenge all of us.”

“Brother, more than any of us, you’re the one who suffered the most. We can;t let them go.” Morris says in a firm tone.

“Morris, till now I was thinking only of me, but now, I swear, I will make them pay.” Vonruil says in a stern tone, “Everyone is important, I will avenge them all, but, you boys, it’s a personal avenge.”

Trying to make the atmosphere calm, Sam asks, “Hey, you guys went out to get the phone, where’s it?”

“I totally forgot about that.” Vonruil says in an angry tone, “Who told you boys to go out so late?”

“We didn’t.” Morris says explaining, “We were abc in time if he hadn’t popped up.”

“And, why did you need a new phone?” Vonruil asks curiously.

Everyone becomes quiet. Seeing them, Vonruil says, “OK. What happened? Who’s gonna tell?”

Xane looks at everyone, and says, “Vonruil, we were busy at home, when Xiander sensed a being outside, and went alone. Sam noticed from the window, Xiander was being beaten, so he went out.”

In an excited tone, “OH, Sam used his fireball fists as well.” Calming down, “Any way, they dealt with him. Xiander tried to telepath you, but couldn’t so we thought if you had this thing, we could call you over sooner.”

A little hesitant, Morris says, “Brother, does this have anything to do with Satan?”

Sighing, Vonruil says, “No, boys, one thing I can tell you, Satan has taken my emotions. Only the image. I can’t express them now, but the real emotions come from your heart, from your soul. That he can never take away from me.” Vonruil says, “Next time you need to call me, remember, on earth the connection is not so quick. So, give a few seconds for responding. One signal at a time. Continual will be blocked.”

“Oh, so that’s why I couldn’t connect with you. Cause I kept calling.” Xiander understands what Vonruil meant.

Vonruil nods, and says, “OK, today it’s late, let's call it a day, and tomorrow since it’s my day off, we can practice.”

“One thing I wanted to know is, how do you train back home?” Sam asks in a curious tone.

“Well, Sam, when we reach the age of ten, we are shifted to the grounds. The grounds are separated into different realms, and in two sections. The guards, and the elite.

The guards are taught to fight in Artmitis, earth, and the universe. While the elite, all five. Meaning Artmitis, earth, heaven, universe, and underworld.”

The elite are the overall protectors.” Xiander says explaining.

“How are you chosen?” Peter asks as he puts his shoulders on the table, and rests his chin on his hands.

“The stones decide that for us. You need at least stones to qualify for the elite force.” Vonruil says explaining.

“So, you both are in the elite force.” Morris says in an elated tone.

Xane says, getting sad, “Yes, you need at least 10 to qualify for the elite force. I have none. I’m not even a guard.”

Sam pats him on the shoulder, and says. “Xane, cheer up, you are improving now. You will level up, and that means you will be able to get stones as well.”

Cheering up, Xane says, “Yes, I will, and I will join the elite force, and make you all proud.”

“OK, boys, let's hit the beds, it’s a long day tomorrow. Training begins.” Vonruil says, as Peter gets up, to set the beds.

Xane also gets up, and goes over to Peter, to help him out. Sam picks his first-aid box, and keeps it back, as Morris clears the table.

Seeing Vonruil going up, Xane asks “Vonruil, why are you going up?”

“Xane, we all are down in health. Sudden attacks are the last thing we need.” Vonruil says explaining, “I’m casting an invincible barrier.”

As Vonruil comes down, Xiander says, “Sam, give him an ice-pack. The heat of the stone will be hot.”

“What?” Sam says in an angry tone, “Brother, I told you not to use the stones.”

“Sam, stones are the only powers we have. That’s why it’s important for us to obtain the stones. The more, the more power.”

“Yeah, more stones, more power, more hurt.” Sam says in a frank tone.

Smiling Vonruil says, “Sam, everything comes with a loss, and profit fact. We get hurt, but our loved ones are protected.”

“Oh, man, I can’t wait to bust them.”

Hearing Morris’s enthusiasm, Vonruil says, “Boys, we will begin training you, but fighting the real guys, is not going to be anywhere soon. Yes, you can be in charge of taking care of the home.”

Both Morris, and Peter make a sad face. Xane smiles, and says, “Welcome on board. I don’t have any stones, so I’m also not allowed to participate in any fight.”

Turning the lights off, Vonruil says, “Don’t worry Xane, you'll get the stones soon. Just follow the training plan laid by Sam. I saw you, you are improving.”

Xiander yawns, and says, “Yes, he never took me seriously. Thankfully, he listens to Sam.”

“Vonruil, did you find out about the angel being together with humans? I want Sam to be Xiander’s partner.” Xane says sulking.

“Xane, why do you derail all of a sudden?” Morris asks in a curious tone as he lays on his bed.

“I am not.” Xane says, stating his point, “A very important point. It has to be Sam, and only Sam.”

“Xane, don’t worry, I’ll find out soon, for now go to sleep, and focus on your training.” Vonruil says, taking a sigh.

As the boys go to sleep, Vonruil begins to wonder, is it possible for angels, and humans to be a couple. And, if so, what about the future, so far it’s clear angels can live on earth, but can humans live in Artmitis? After all Artmitis is a planet in the universe. As he was thinking, he began to think about Sky.

What was he doing right now, does he remember him or has he forgotten about him. Vonruil begins to feel uneasy so he gets up, and goes to the terrace. Looking up at the sky, he sees a shooting star. Vonruil remembered, Sky once said he made a wish on a shooting star, but he never got the time. One thing he was certain was, everyone in Artmitis believes he has disappeared, is Sky among them.

Taking a sigh, Vonruil says, “Sky, do you still remember me?”

“Brother, who’s Sky, and what are you doing up here so late at night?” Morris asks in a confused, and worried tone.

Turning around, Vonruil says, “Oh, sorry, I didn’t want to disturb anyone.”

“That’s not what I asked.” Morris says in a frank tone.

“I felt a little restless, and Sky, (Vonruil is quiet for a few seconds) a special friend back home.”

“So, now are you OK?” Morris asks.

“Yes, seeing you boys always calms me down.” Vonruil says with a calm tone.

“OK, then let’s go back, tomorrow’s a big day. You're gonna train us.” Morris says excitedly.

As Morris goes down, Vonruil follows, but before he leaves, he looks at the sky once again, and says, “Sorry, Sky.”
