CHAPTER ONE

" God! Why did I have to wake up late" Josephine mummured to herself as she raced down the busy road, where the supermarket she works is located. She peeped at her wristwatch and increased her speed, it was way past her call time, only if she hadn't overslept, she thought, knowing fully well that she was a dead meat, her boss wouldn't go easy on her and she wondered what the man would do to her. She got to the supermarket and hastily went in, she greeted the customers purchasing some items and went over to where her boss was sitted waiting impatiently for her.

"Is this your call time?" the man yelled, his eyes were difficult to look into, they spoke danger.

"am sorry sir" she apologized staring intensely at the ground wishing it would open up and swallow her.

"Sorry?"said the man and scoffed, he wasn't ready to accept her apology or ready to hear the excuse she has for coming late."Well, I won't say much, I will cut your salary, don't expect your full pay" he yelled

"please sir"she begged

"quiet!"He yelled again"do you want to work or go back home?"

"sorry sir I will get to work now"

"why does she keep saying sorry" the man said irritatedly and continue with what he was doing.

Josephine dropped her bag and ran to the customers purchasing items from the store."Hello, have you seen what you want?"she asked politely with a huge smile that brightened her hazel eyes.

"Yes" replied the woman

"when you are done please let me know"

"okay"

thank you"she said and walked to the next

customer.

The office is huge and wide, it had two black couches and a fancy centre table in-between. The office was painted in blue and has art works placed on it. At the farther end, was a huge table with an office chair. The table was occupied with files and laptop.Two men where seated in the office, one was sitted on the couch holding a cup of coffee that he sipped now and then in his hands. An handsome man with a thick brown hair that was neatly combed to the back and brown eyes that could captivate one's soul. One could see he was a tall man with a well toned skin and masculine body, probably in his late twenties. He was putting on a sky blue shirt on a sky blue suit trousers and sky blue suit Jacket and sky blue tie, all in blue including his footwear.

The other man was sitted on the office chair, studying the files that lied on the table, the first man is handsome but his, is on another level, he has a blue sparkling eyes that was powerful enough to make any girl have butterflies in her stomach, his hair, black and neatly styled, he was tall also with a masculine and sexy body and a well toned skin that glowed like that of a baby, his handsomeness is definitely out of this world.

"Are you done with the files? It's almost time for the meeting" the man sitted on the couch said

"hmmm"

"so quick"

"can you get me a cup of coffee please?" he asked

"sure" he replied and dropped the cup of coffee in his hands and left to get him coffee.

Alexandra stood from his seat and stood in front of one of the paintings hung on the wall, his favorite, he buried his hands in his pocket as he continued to stare at the painting in admiration.The smile he had on his face was charming enough to send anyone not just a lady ,off their feet. He is also in his twenties exactly the same age with Fred and also the son of a third generation conglomerate. He was putting on a white shirt with it's first two bottons unbottoned revealing is masculine and perfectly toned chest.

"looks like, you are getting along with your fiancee well"Fred said as he came in with a cup of coffee in his hands and Alex turned to face him"

"what makes you think so?" he asked and collected the cup of coffee from him

"your mother just called, she said you shouldn't forget your dinner plans" he said and sat back on the couch

"what plans, seriously that woman I didn't agree to it" he said with a frustrated look on his face and sat on the couch opposite Fred."I really don't want to marry Sarah, I don't like her" he said and sipped his coffee

"your parent aren't interested in your feelings, they are just doing business but what don't you like about the girl? She is beautiful and well endowed

"that's all she has, she is characterless"

"really"

"hmmm, that saying don't judge a book by its cover applies to her, she is a perfect example, her attitude is worst than that of a goat"

"well, what do you expect from a conglomerate daughter, the only child at that"

"good behavior, decency, manners but she is nothing but a spoilt brat, a rotten one at that" he said and sipped his coffee again

"you have to learn to endure and tolerate her, she will become your wife soon and you guys will have kids together, stuffs like that"

"kids?"Alex said and chuckled"who would sleep with that goat, me, God forbid it!"

"Jesus! Alex, do you hate her that much"

"the last thing I will ever do is making babies with her"

"so you haven't kissed her yet?I was thinking you would have slept with her" said Fred

"you are crazy"

"poor Sarah and she really loves you Alex"

"good for her, why do I have to be loved by someone like her"

"it's fate"

"do you have a death wish?" he asked and sipped his coffee.

"it's time for your meeting, dress properly"Fred said and Jumped up.Alex buttoned his shirt properly and the two friends left the office chatting. They were more like brothers, they have been friends right from childhood and now Fred is his personal assistant, what a blessing.
