Intruder

After the night of Ashilynn's confession about her and Tanner things start to change. They all train harder than they ever had before. Harder than what any human was capable of. Of course as angels they can work harder. But for those who aren't used to it, it can be difficult.

Ashilynn's father and Uncles join in on the training daily and soon it becomes a family thing and even Serena joins in. The fear of losing Ashilynn to a psychopathic ex-angel is on everyone's mind. So no one questions it when a strict training regime is put into place. Nor do they question why they have to train 7 days a week for 14 hours a day. Instead they just accept it. They know it means life or death for one of their own. Every morning is now the same.

They all wake up at 4am and get dressed, fly for 15 miles, run for 15 more, 1,000 push ups, 2,000 squats, 4,000 situps. At 7 am they eat, take a bathroom break and head to the training room. 8:30 leads to working on sword techniques and 11:30 brings them working on combat with a bow and arrows. From 2:30pm on they work on hand to hand combat. Around 5pm they all sit down and eat dinner. At 6:30 pm they fly for 15 miles, run for 15 more, do 1,000 push ups, 2,000 squats, 4,000 situps and then stretch, shower, and possibly watch a movie, and at 10pm they go to sleep.

Time goes by slowly and soon a month, then 2 have passed in much the same way. Ashilynn's nightmares get worse and worse as time goes on. She knows that war is getting closer. Maybe in a month, maybe a week. She is constantly pushing herself and the boys to their breaking point. Finally on the day of her 18th birthday it happens.

A man in dark black robes passes through the gated community with a determined look on his face. He is here to warn them but he arrives moments too late. He doesn't even make it to the door before being struck down by enemy soldiers. The house is surrounded. A man in dark purple enters. A general in the ranks of the enemy soldiers.

Ashilynn is the first to notice anything awry. She steps out into the hallway, scanning the area around her as she goes. A creak in the floor boards to her right alerts her that someone is coming. She takes her stance and activates her armor.

Light floods the area before her and she is temporarily blinded. She sidesteps just in time to see an arrow fly by her right ear. Without hesitation her wings pop out as she knees the man in the balls.

"Who sent you?!" she yells at the man before her before breaking his nose with her fist. "Who sent you here?"

The man whimpers but says nothing.

Ashilynn pulls back and pops him in the mouth. He cries out in pain and pleads for her to stop. Some messenger! She thinks.

"Tell me what you know and I may spare your life." Ashilynn says as her father appears to bind up her attacker.

The man is quick to talk once he realizes who she and her father both are. Their reputation precedes them both.

"Lucifer's son sent me you insolent fools. Although had I known it was you here I would have never accepted the mission. He sent me and 30 of his best soldiers to watch the house until he got here. "

Ashilynn and her father exchange looks of surprise at the news.

"He has been looking for you for the last 6 months. He is out for blood. They say you rejected him. Humiliated him. He says he won't let you get away once he finds you. I swear that's all I know. But if I were you I would be cautious. He will be here soon."

Ashilynn motions for her dad to kill him. He does. Begrudgingly.

Gabe pulls out a cell phone and alerts the boys. Ashilynn's Cousin is already at the doors with a tiny purse to carry all their belongings. She tosses Ashilynn and her father their swords.

After a quick debriefing and they depart again. Hoping like hell that the boys and her Uncle remember their meeting place.
