Forest of doom.

The dirt road ends and Daniel continues walking through the green grass towards the forest.
The road is a bit sloping up because it is like a small mountain. Not as big as a miniature mountain but if it is high this hill.
Daniel walks through tall trees, some rocks and tries to avoid going through bushes as tall as he is. Daniel surrounds those tall bushes as a precaution, it is unknown what may be on the other side and attack him without warning.
Although it is a bit dangerous to walk alone in the woods when a Walker may suddenly appear. But Daniel is well armed, he walks through the clearings where he can have a clear view of the surroundings. Most importantly, he is walking near the camp, outside of this gigantic forest, so he can call for help if he comes to the worst. Besides the fact that Glenn told him he commented on a bit of his experiences, he had checked the forest with the others before and they didn't find any Walker for two months.
Merle Dixon's younger brother Daryl went hunting deep in the woods where there are more large animals. Based on what Glenn said, it takes Daryl 2-3 days to get back. Daniel will have to wait for his return to explain what happened with Merle, although he surely will not act calmly after knowing it. Daniel sighs over this problem but eventually it will come and he can only deal with it in the best way possible.
There is a place that Daniel wants to go, he saw it from the lake and now he wants to see it with his own eyes.

Daniel finds the place and compares it with the memories of him. It's the same as when he saw it from the lake.

Daniel sits on the grass, leans his back against a very tall tree and watches the lake from the rock quarry below him, it's a beautiful sight he wants to enjoy. The lake is very clear from this height, it is giant, the trees below are very small. The birds pass by him singing. Everything is very peaceful and reassuring, something Daniel needed to collect his thoughts.

They came to Atlanta in search of a safe camp and found an abandoned city full of Walkers on its streets.
In that dangerous situation, he met a good friend, perhaps his best friend, Glenn. He gets along very well with Glenn and they understand each other.
He met his girlfriend Andrea and they had great chemistry.
He met other people too, but he can't call them friends, at least not now. But if you like them, less clearly Merle, that guy is crazy.
It was fortunate in the midst of danger to be able to meet them.

He likes this camp, at least for now. People have their problems and conflicts like anywhere, nothing is perfect. But they all do what they can.
Daniel feels good here, so he will stay a little longer. Although he has already fulfilled his promise to Rick, it is better to have a safe place to rest than to wander without a fixed address in constant danger.
After all, the reason he wanted to leave no longer exists.
