91 Chapter 91 Small Conflict

John woke up in the morning and sat up. John then walked out of the room and went to the kitchen. He started the coffee pot before he walked into the bathroom and brushed his teeth. John then went back to the kitchen and poured himself a cup of coffee, then he turned the coffee maker off.

John then went out onto the front porch and sat down. John sipped his coffee as he sat there. When John finished his coffee, he went back inside and cleaned his mug. John looked at the time and saw it was 8:00 am, John sat on his couch and chilled for about two hours.

John then noticed something through his window, he saw the girl he was standing behind yesterday climbing over the wall. He recognized her as Enid from the show. She used two metal bars and was able to scale over the wall. John walked out the back door of his house and over to the wall.

John then jumped up and grabbed one of the sideway supports. He pulled himself up and climbed over the wall. John then landed on the other side, his feet denting the ground some as it was quite wet. John then followed Enid from a distance, they went through the woods for quite a while before Enid stopped and sat down on a log. She opened a wooden box next to the log and started to read a comic.

John kind of bored turned around and started to walk back to the wall. John killed a walker on the way with his sword, he didn't want her to have any problems on the way back. John scaled up one of the support beams and then climbed over to the other side before he jumped down. John then entered his house and just in time because someone rang the doorbell.

John opened the door and saw a thicc lady standing there, she was holding a casserole. She presented the food and said, "Hey, I'm Demmy. I made this to welcome you to Alexandria."

John said, "Nice to meet you Demmy, I'm John. Thank you for this, I'll bring the tray back later. Did you want to come in?"

Demmy said, "I can't now, I have to get to the pantry. Maybe I will drop by later."

John said, "Alright, I'll see you later then." John then brought the dish into the dining room and set it down. John opened the lid and saw it was a chicken, potato and pea, there was also some kind of white gravy. John walked into the kitchen and grabbed a fork, before he came back to the dining room and sat down. John started to eat the casserole and it was very good, John finished the whole container before he washed the dish.

John then walked out of the house and down the street. As he was walking past a house, he saw that the garage was opened. Right outside was something made of scrap metal. John saw Jessie and the boy he saw looking at him through the window working on it. John walked over to them and said, "What is this, Jess?"

Jessie was quite surprised by the sudden voice and said, "Oh, my, John! You scared me! I didn't notice you at all. This is a sculpture of an owl."

John looked closely at the "sculpture", and said, "Yep, that is definitely an owl."

The kid standing next to Jess said, "See, I told you, mom."

John said, "Who is this?"

Jessie said, "This is my younger son."

John said, "Oh, you didn't mention him to me yesterday."

Jessie said, "I must have forgotten. Anyway, this is Sam. I also have another son named Ron."

John said, "oh, so how long you been working on this owl."

Sam said, "It's been a long time. We don't have the right tools to connect the pieces together."

John said, "That sucks, but at least you get to spend more time with your mom."

Jessie nodded, "That's right." Sam started to complain, before he started working on the sculpture again. John and Jess talked for a little while before John walked away. John walked down the street and was walking beside a building when someone called out to him.

John turned to the person that called him and saw two men walking towards him, one of them was the sketchy looking gatekeeper and the other was an arrogant looking prick. John stopped walking as the two men came over to him. The arrogant man said, "John, right? I'm Aiden, I was wondering if you want to go scavenging with us?"

John said, "Sure. I'm bored anyway."

Aiden said, "I'm in charge while we are out there."

John said, "Whatever."

Aiden said, "Alright, let's go to the armory." John nodded and followed Aiden. They walked in complete silence because John didn't feel like talking to them. When they got to the armory, they walked into the house and John saw Demmy standing over to the side counting the number of cans on a shelf. John walked over to her and said, "Hey Demmy, thanks for that casserole, it was very good."

Demmy was a little surprised, but she calmed down and said, "Your welcome and thanks for the compliment." John then chatted with her for a second before he walked over to where the guns were and grabbed his desert eagle from a container. John then walked out of the house and saw that Spencer and the sketchy guy were waiting for him.

John walked over to them, and they started to walk toward a car. They got in a car and Aiden drove to the gate. The gatekeeper saw them and opened the gate after talking with Aiden for a second. Aiden then started to drive down the road. After about 3 minutes, they stopped and Aiden said, "Before we go out, we do a little pregame ritual."

John said, "Whatever." John then followed them into the woods and after a while they arrived in front of a tree. There was a meat hook on a tree, the hook was stained with blood and some guts were hanging on the hook.

Aiden said, "Dammit, it got away."

John said, "What did?"

Aiden said, "The walker that killed our friend."

John said, "Why are you hanging up walkers? You should just kill it."

Nicholas said, "It killed our friend, we can't let it off so easily." John kept quiet and Aiden whistled loudly after seeing the guts were still wet. A walker with its stomach ripped open came walking over. It went straight for Aiden and got a hold of him; he was having trouble holding it back, so he pushed it and it went straight for Nicholas.

Nicholas fought with it for a while before he pushed it in John's direction. John didn't really care about the walker, so he pulled his katana out of its sheath and cut off the walker's arms and legs. The walker fell to the ground totally unable to move. Aiden yelled at him for doing that, but John didn't care.

Aiden then picked up the walker and placed it on the meat hook before he said, "Let's go back. I don't want you with us."

John shrugged his shoulders and started walking through the forest back to the car. John got in the back seat and Aiden drove back to Alexandria. The gatekeeper let them in, and they got out of the car. The gatekeeper asked, "Why are you back so early?"

Nicholas said, "It's because John doesn't know what he is doing."

John said, "No, it's because you like to play with walkers."

Aiden said, "What do you know?"

John said, "I know you would never survive outside these walls. If you were outside these walls for as long as me, you would be dead. You're weak!"

Aiden got in John's face and said, "Say it again!" Aiden then poked John's chest multiple times, John was starting to get annoyed. Deanna heard the commotion and saw Aiden provoking John, she walked over in a hurry.

Deanna said, "Aiden! What is going on."

Aiden answered, "This guy has a problem with the way we do things. Why did you let him in?"

John said, "Because I actually know what I'm doing when I'm out there."

Aiden immediately turned to John and threw a right hook straight at his face. However, John moved his head back and Aiden missed. John then threw a straight jab at Aiden's chin, knocking him to the ground, he was completely unable to get up as that punch had shaken his brain. If John had used even a little more force, Aiden would be in a coma.

Nicholas saw this and rushed at John trying to tackle him to the ground, but John grabbed his wrist and stepped on his foot. The momentum had Nicholas on the ground with John holding his arm behind his back and his knee on his spine.

Deanna said, "John, that's enough. Get up." John got up and Nicholas tried to come at him again, but the gatekeeper grabbed him from behind.

Deanna yelled at Nicholas who was still struggling and trying to get at John. She yelled, "I said that's enough!" Nicholas finally calmed down and seeing this the gatekeeper let him free.

A group of people had also come over after hearing the commotion. Deanna said loudly, "I want everyone to hear me, okay? John is a part of this community now in all ways. As equals, understood."

Nicholas and Spencer said, "Understood."

Deanna then said, You two come with me to my office, now! Sorry about this John."

John said, "No problem, sorry I was a little rough." Deanna nodded as she dragged Nicholas and Aiden to her office. John then walked to the armory to store his desert eagle, Enid had been watching this scene and was surprised at John's combat efficiency.

Entering his house John sat down on the couch and read a book he had found on one of the shelves. John read about half of the book before he heard the doorbell ring. John walked to the door and opened it. John saw Demmy standing there, so he invited her in.

She walked in and John led her to the living room. Demmy said, "I heard about your little scuffle earlier today."

John said, "I wouldn't call it that. I only slightly corrected them."

Demmy laughed and said, "Sure, you corrected them with your fist."

John said, "Hey, I only punched Aiden once and he came at me first. I barely touched Nicholas."

Demmy said, "I know, Enid said that you knocked Aiden to the ground with one punch and took Nicholas down with ease. I'm only teasing you."

John said, "Oh, really. How about I tease you?"

Demmy said while slightly turned on, "What do you have in mind?" Demmy moved closer to John on the couch, John leaned down and pecked her lips.

John said, "That."

Demmy got even closer and said, "I like that."

John said, "Then let's do more."
