18 Chapter 18 Leaving the CDC
John waking up very early in the morning, decided not to get up because Amy was still sleeping soundly in his arms, with her head resting on his chest. John lay there staring at Amy's beautiful face, caressing her hair gently.
What felt like seconds to him were actually hours, John completely in his own daydream. In his fantasy he saw himself with Amy, sitting on an old porch. John was holding Amy and had noticed that she was significantly older, around 35 years old. Her skin was still as smooth as ever and her face still as beautiful as ever.
They were looking forward, they saw two young children around the age of 5 and 6, playing tag, the older of the two was a boy, and the younger was a girl. The boy looked just like him, but he had bright blue eyes like Amy. The girl had beautiful blonde hair and hazel brown eyes; she was the cutest little thing he had ever seen.
The kids come running over to John and Amy, they hug each other and then walk inside. On the table there was a cherry pie sitting there, just waiting to be eaten. Amy then serves each of them a slice with a happy and loving smile on her face. They suddenly vanish from John's sight.
Feeling Amy move, John was awoken from his daydream. He looks at Amy and saw her smiling up at him. John seeing her awake, sits up with her still in his arms. Amy makes a slightly pained face, John seeing this asks her what's wrong, before remembering that he had taken her virginity yesterday and he had been pretty rough on her. Amy saw John's concerned face and smiled at him before saying that she was fine.
John hearing this asked her, "Can you walk?"
She looks at him with a pout and says, "I can barely feel my legs". John seeing her pout could not help but kiss her lips gently, John then stands up saying he will bring her breakfast. He walks to the door, opening it before leaving. John walks down the hall, to the cafeteria.
When he arrived there, John saw the rest of the group and Jenner sitting at a large rectangular table. The group was looking at him with a knowing smirk, apparently the walls are thin here, that or Amy was moaning so loud everyone could hear them.
A couple seconds later T-dog came out of the kitchen holding a big bowl of scrambled eggs, he said, "They are powdered eggs, but they are still delicious". T-dog then placed down the bowl, and everyone began to serve themselves.
John quickly making two plates, heads back to the room, entering it. He then walked over to Amy who was sitting on the bed, he gave her the plate and then they started to eat together. When they finished, Amy wanted to take a shower, so John picked her up in a princess carry. Arriving at the showers, John walks inside after Amy opened the door for him.
Amy and John then undress before showering together, John helping her wash herself and supporting her, to prevent her falling as her legs still felt weak.
Finishing in the shower, they dry off together, before dressing. Amy wearing black panties, bra, blue jeans, and a white t-shirt. John wearing boxers, black jeans, and a yellow button up shirt. Now dressed, John carried Amy back to their room, then John lay her down on the put gently.
Amy getting comfortable in bed, decided she was going to rest for the day. John leaving the room, goes to the recreational room and grabs some fantasy themed books, he then heads back to the room before giving Amy the books he found.
John then leaves the room, finally leaving her to rest, walking down the hall he saw Andrea pass him, heading to his room. John continues down the hall, looking at a map on the wall John goes down to where the generators are. Seeing that almost all the generators are off because they are out of fuel, John summons multiple barrels of gasoline, before hooking them up to the generators, turning them back on.
Jenner who was guiding the group towards the room that contains the main computer. Saw that the timer, that was going to end soon, signifying the time until the bases destruction, was now gone. Jenner seeing this is dumbfounded but seeing everyone looking at him, keeps his mouth shut, not telling the group about it. He then shows them all a video of a person turning into a walker, he shows them how the brain completely shuts down, before restarting, only keeping the base instincts active. He then explains how he has lost all of his progress in his research, after an error from exhaustion.
Hearing this the group was starting to lose hope before Rick gave the group a speech. Somehow Rick was able to convince the group that they just had to find another way. The group then heads to the cafeteria before sitting down and discussing their next course of action, many suggesting they try Fort Benning.
While the group was talking about this, John had left the generators. Walking back to his room, John enters and saw Amy napping, Andrea nowhere to be seen. John carefully gets into bed embracing her and taking a nap as well.
A couple hours later the group had decided they would stay at the CDC for a couple days. Andrea coming to the room and entering before telling the news to Amy and John.
John hearing that they were staying for a couple days, decides to leave the CDC to scavenge for some supplies, after telling Amy and the group. Leaving through the front door, John runs for about 10 minutes, arriving in front of a small pharmacy. John kills a walker that was standing in his way, quietly shoving his knife through its head.
John then walks into the pharmacy, blocking the entrance. Taking all of the medicine that could be useful, John put it all into a backpack he brought with him. John then sat down on a chair he found, he opens the system and decides to summon Androids.
These were very futuristic Androids, and they were covered in a synthetic skin that made them look and feel just like a regular human would. They had microscopic solar panels in the skin that allowed them to recharge when in the sun. Programmed with various knowledges from many different specializations. He summoned 5 of them, having a plan for them.
He told them to stay in the pharmacy for a couple days, and then go to the CDC and kill Dr. Jenner, then they should set up solar panels on the roof, making the place self-sustaining, before destroying any harmful diseases that are there. He also told the Androids to protect the place and let in any survivors that came to the CDC, unless they had bad intentions. He ordered the Androids to teach the survivors that came to protect themselves. He also ordered them to set up a 10-foot wall around the CDC, exactly 1,000 feet around. He told them to set up automated turrets that would defend the base. He then told them, that he would come back at a later time and lead the people they had saved and protected.
He then summoned a big buck knife, it was made from an extremely hard metal, the blade was chrome in color, perfectly reflecting everything around it, like a mirror. The blade was 2 and a half inches wide and was about 18 inches long. The blade was extremely sharp, seen when John waved it in the air. The handle was made from a strong dark wood, the pommel made of a green gem. After observing the knife, he put the knife back into its sheath, before putting it on the left side of his waist.
John also summoned an M16, equipped with a red dot scope and a suppressor. John then put it on his back using the sling he attached to it, also summoning 10 mags for it, putting it into his personal pack.
John then moved the barricade, leaving through the entrance. Standing a few feet away was a couple walkers, he pulled his buck knife, swinging it at a walker's head, it slides right through with only the slightest resistance. Seeing this John excitedly kills the other walkers. Deciding that he had to test his new knife even more John runs around for an hour killing every walker he saw.
He then runs back to the CDC building, only arriving when the sun had almost set, walking through the doors, after he had been buzzed in. He then went to the cafeteria, where everyone was sitting at the table eating dinner. Amy was also there, so John walked over and sat down next to her. They then talked about their day, John leaving out some parts.
Two more days had passed by, and the group was ready to leave. Amy was fully recovered, and they had even had some intimate moments the night before. The group deciding that today was the day they would leave, they packed their stuff into bags and took some of the food in the kitchen before leaving through the front doors. Dr. Jenner waving at them as they walk to their vehicles, arriving in front of their vehicles they start to drive towards Fort Benning, watching the CDC vanish through their rear-view mirrors.
John was in his jeep with Amy and Lily. Rick with his family, Carol, and Sophia. Daryl and Merle on their motorcycles. The rest of the group either in their own cars or riding within the RV.
