An Unknown Enemy ll

I sidestep out of the way just in time. The arrow hits a wooden pillar that was behind me. "Get out of here guys. I have a feeling that you won't be able to handle this 'thing'." I say. They don't move, they just stand there. One second they were fine, the next, they're on the ground grasping at their throats. I unsheathe my sword, "Yamata, give me power," The familiar feeling of heat approaches me. I unleash the fire that has build up at the 'being'.

Houses are burnt to a crisp, the water in the well has evaporated yet that being still stands as if nothing really happened to him. What the hell is he?! "What are you?" I question.

The being stops, as if considering answering my question, "I am something humanity never thought possible," He says in a raspy voice. He drops his bow and quiver and unsheathes his sword. He runs at me, when he's about to strike me, I sidestep out of the way and slash at him. He counters this by sidestepping out of the way and hitting me in the nose with the hilt of his sword.

I stumble back keeping my sword up. The thing doesn't let up on his attacks, I'm barely able to block his attacks. One of his strikes gets past my defense and ends up slicing my arm. I let out a low grunt and duck underneath his elbow. His armpit is exposed, that's where I'll attack him, I'll cripple his arm.

I'm met with a knee right to my nose. I stumble on my back, letting the blood drip down my cheek. He jumps up in the air with his sword pointed right at me. Quickly, I roll out of the way and get up. I'm up in an instant, sword in hand. I quickly stab my sword up his armpit, it pierces through his armor. He lets out a grunt and drops his sword. Quickly, I grab his helmet to expose his face.

He has long golden brown hair in a high ponytail. I grab the hair and pull him onto his back and place my sword at his neck. I almost choke on my words, he's not a he, it's a woman. "What, surprised? Didn't think that a woman like me could kill a full squad of soldiers with a mere thought?" She says.

"What the hell are you?"

"They call us Daedra, we've been modified to be resilient from your swords powers. Although, I was barely able to withstand your attack," She pauses, "You gonna kill me now?"

"No, but I will bring you back, I still have questions, then we'll see what happens," I say. I pull her up and bound her hands together with some rope I found on the ground. I pick up the bow and quiver and I sheath her sword.

"What the hell do you think you're doing? She is a threat, you said she killed a full squadron of men with a mere thought. What makes you think she can't do the same here?" Leviticus bellows.

"Cause she knows if she does anything, I'll kill her immediately," I lean in closer to Leviticus, "I think I can get through to her. No, I don't think, I know I can. Give me a week, after that, you can do what you please," I finish.

"Fine, but when she kills someone, that blood will be on your hands. Now get out of here!" I bow and leave Leviticus alone on the stairs. I grab the girl by the wrist, "What's your name?"

"That's irrelevant," she says.

"Well then, I guess I'll be calling you girl from now on. Anyways, you have a week to gain my trust." I say.

"Blythe," she says. I let go of her wrist and lead her towards my apartment. From the looks of it, it seems that we were able to fend off the vampires long enough for the capital soldiers to get here. "Now then Blythe, I trust that you won't attempt to kill me in my sleep. Even if you do, you won't get away from the safe haven. Now, you said you were something humans never thought possible, what are you?" I question.

She stops and looks up at me, "I don't know what I am. All I know is that I was made by the vampires and that's it," She says. So she's an experiment?

"Where are the others, I assume you're not the only experiment," I say.

"On the West side of Viaroon. There was an old clinic and that's where they conducted the experiments," she pauses, "In the clinic, there's an elevator that leads below ground, you have to press 3 and 4 at the same time and it will bring you to the floor. Please, if you do go there, save those kids." She finally finishes.

The walk to my apartment was quiet. The only sounds were the occasional sobs of parents and kids. I open the door and Blythe enters. "Just so you know, I still have questions." I say.

"Yes, that's okay, just ask away." Blythe relplies.

"How did you make twelve people die instantly?"

"It's a power from my sword, it turns the air into invisivble fire. It burns the targets from the inside out, but what I don't understand is that you weren't affected by it, why's that?"

"That's a question I don't know the answer to," I reply. Which is the truth. I'm no going to start lying to her, in order for me to trust her, she needs to trust me. "Just make whatever you want, You can sleep on the couch until I figure out something better." I take my shoes off before heading to my bedroom.

"Stay away from that girl Henry, she will bring you nothing but grief. Her demons name is Mania, she used to rule a small country during my time. She was rebellious, odds are, she's telling that girl to kill you," Yamatas voice booms in my head.

"She knows better than to try that, I have faith that she won't do something so reckless as that."

"Just be cautious around her, anyways, go to Amelia, she needs you," Yamata says.
