Kelly's Pov
I sit in my room and wait.. it's almost time formy engagement ceremony. I'm 18 years old and I'm supposed to get married to Jake Anderson. Heir to Anderson industries who is also my childhood friend and my high school boyfriend. Everything had been pre-planned for me from birth. From the high school I attended to the college I'll attend and even the man I'll get married to have been planned out by my parents. And I'm told to always obey Mom and Dad because they know what's good for me so I obey my parents decisions for my life.
"Kelly it's time for your engagement ceremony" Matilda my nanny informs me "Okay" I say and I'm lead downstairs by Matilda. As I descend the stairs I see Jake dresses in his Black Tuxedo and white shirt with a black tie. His hair well cut and he looks so handsome. He smiles at me as our eyes lock. I've always wanted to get married to Jake Anderson because I love him. I've known him all my life so it's only sensible that I get married to Jake. Jake takes my hand as he leads me to my family's large sitting room and I take my sear beside him. Both my parents and Jake's parents are present and my best friend Abby her name is actually Abigail but everyone calls her Abby she smiles at me and my parents look very pleased at the ceremony. Jake's father stands up from his seat "We are gathered here to solemnize the union of the Anderson family and the Edwards family" Mr Anderson begins "So, without wasting time let's get the ceremony started" he says as Matilda hands Mr Anderson the ring box and Jake helps me stand up from my sit as we stand in front of each other and everyone watches. "You may both exchange your rings" Mr Anderson and Jake slips the ring in my finger and he positions his finger for me to slip my own ring on his finger and I eagerly do so."Congratulations to both families Kelly and Jake are now officially engaged" Mr Anderson announces happily and everyone applauds is and Jake smiles at me and I blush.
We go on with the party as everyone dances and parties on. "Hey Kelly.. you wanna get out of here?" Jake whispers to me as we both dance "I don't mind getting out of here as long as it's with you" I reply and he smiles "Follow me then" he says and we both sneak out of the engagement party to our family garden.
We sit down on the grass and laugh heartily "I love you Kelly" Jake says with sparkles in his eyes "I love you too Jake" I respond and he pulls me in for a side hug and I rest my head on his chest and he rests his chin on my head as we both watch the stars. "You'd be living for college soon and I don't know I have mixed feelings Kelly" Jake says and I sit up to face him "Yes I am Jake". I know that I'll be leaving for Miami soon for college but it doesn't stop anything" I say to him and he still looks downcast. I move closer to him and cup his cheeks "Jake we are engaged now. And that's not going to change. I might be in Miami but it wouldn't change the fact that I'm your fiancee. Just wait for me okay? I'll study hard, graduate from college and we'll get married and then I'll take over Daddy's company. Everything will fall in place" I say and he nods still looking at me "You know you went to college and I waited for you until you returned so you should wait for me too Jake. It's only 4 years and I'll be out of college" I say
"Okay" he says "Just trust me like I trusted you while you were in college okay?" I say assuring him "Yes Kelly.. I trust you" he says and I plant a kiss on his cheek and he heaves a sigh of relief. "We'll be fine" I say to him holding his hands and he smiles at me. "There's something I wanted to give you before you leave for college". He says
"What is it?" I ask and he brings out a box from his pocket and I look at him in surprise wondering what is in the box "What's that?" I ask and he opens the box to reveal a gold bracelet "Jake... I.." I begin "I just wanted you to have this bracelet to remember me and keep me in your mind while you're in school knowing that I'm patiently waiting for you" Jake says and a tear slips down my eyes.
"Oh Jake!" I gasp "Its so beautiful!" I say as I extend my hand to him and he wears the bracelet for me "I love you Kelly always" Jake says "I love you too Jake" I say "And I'll keep myself for you.. I promise. I won't tarnish my self respect or dignity I'll keep my body for you Jake " I say to him and he hugs me. "I know Kelly and I trust you" Jake says
