A Good Day

I finally got finished studying about how to become a proper property manager and walked out of my room. I heard my doorbell ring and walked to the door and opened it. I looked at the woman and noticed some similarities about her and Sylvia. I narrowed my eyes down and noticed she was holding a pot of food. I looked back at her face.

"Hello, how may I help you?" I asked.

"Hello, Landlord. My daughter has told me that you became the new Landlord after your dad left. I'm here to give you a congratulations gift and to introduce myself." The woman smiled.

I stepped aside and let her in. I closed the door and looked at her. She walked to the kitchen and set the pot on the stove.

"It gets pretty dark out there quick this season huh?" The woman chuckled.

"Yeah it does." I said then walked to the kitchen. "So...ahem.."

"Oh right." The woman smiled. "My name is Meredith Grace, but I mainly go by Grace."

"Nice to meet you Meredith. My name is Ray Owens, son of Henry Owens." I introduced myself.

"Ahh Henry. What happened to him?" Meredith asked.

I crossed my arms and looked at the pot on tbe stove. "I don't know. His associates said he was going to be gone until further notice."

"I see. Well, that's a shame. He was a nice guy. Anyway, I made some lunch for you. Hopefully you don't mind if I enjoy it with you?" She smiled at me.

"Yeah sure, I don't mind. Let me get some bowls down and we can get started. Did you want anything to drink? I've got some wine if that's your taste." I said.

"Wine this early..?~ You really know how to woo an older woman such as myself." She teased.

I blushed slightly and got two bowls down. I set the bowls on the counter and looked at Meredith. "Well you seem like the woman to drink wine on your free time. You seem to be very well off."

Meredith smiled and placed her hands on the counter. "Well it wasn't easy. I'll be honest with you, I used to work as a stripper when I was younger. Maybe around 18 or 19. I was pretty famous. I had sex a lot." She laughed softly.

I listened to her as I fixed our lunches. "Really huh."

"Yeah...it was fun.." She said and smiled at me.

I felt her smiling at me and I looked at her. She had the body and I could see why the men were attracted to her. I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't want a taste of her, but we just met so my chances are pretty low. I picked up the bowls and took them over to a table. Meredith followed and sat at the table. I set the bowls down.

"I'll come back with some wine." I said.

"Okay, I'll wait for you~" Meredith smiled.

I went into the kitchen and grabbed two wine glasses and a bottle of sweet wine. I walked back over to the table and set them down then sat down. I opened the bottle of wine then poured it in a glass. I set the glass in front of Meredith. I poured my glass.

"So, Landlord..~ Tell me about yourself. What did you used to do before becoming property manager?" Meredith asked.

"Well I was an office worker. I hated my job, but it paid well. I didn't really do anything special other make a couple of instrumental tracks." I shrugged.

"Oh?~ Well I like myself a working man. Maybe I'll be able to see you more often now?" Meredith teased and bit her lip.

'Yeah she is definitely feeling me.' I thought to myself.

"Yeah, maybe." I blushed. "By the way, this is really good. It really goes well with the wine."

"Thank you, I wanted to make something special for your first day. By the way, while Sylvia is at school, do you think you can stop by and help with something?" Meredith asked.

"With what?" I asked.

She just smiled at me and I scratched my head.

"Okay slower..~ You gotta..~ Hah...~ Harder~ Faster!~ Yeah just like that!~"

"I can't concentrate with you making lewd noises.." I said as I finally fixed her fan. I stepped down the ladder and looked at Meredith.

"Sorry I just wanted to make things more lively while you worked..~ You just seem on edge." Meredith said.

"On edge?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's like...you are worried about something. I know a tense person when I see one. I've been a mother for 20 years..~" She said and held my shoulders then rubbed my arms.

I watched her hands then looked back at Meredith. It was almost like...she was sending subliminal messages through her simple gestures. I looked back at her face then cleared my throat. "I actually have to meet up with my associates. Uhm. We can talk later."

"Right right, you are a busy man." She said then stepped away from me.

I closed my ladder then looked at Meredith. "It..was really nice meeting you."

"Yeah you too sweetheart." Meredith smiled and waved at me.

I walked out of her apartment and returned the ladder in the maintenance room. I looked down and noticed she managed to make me aroused. Luckily I could get myself soft pretty quickly so it was no issue. I made my way out the VIP Complex and went into the main building.

"Ruby." I called out to her.

Ruby looked up from her desk and looked at me. "Oh, Mr. Owens. What can I help you with?"

"Any news?" I asked.

"Nope. No one's heard anything in our district. They are asking other districts though. I also wanted to talk to you about something." Ruby said.

"About?" I asked.

"The new Associates for the VIP Complex. I currently can't work right now because my sister is still in the hospital and she gets discharged today and she needs a caretaker. I can't bring her here because she doesn't want to for some reason." Ruby said.

"Are these new associates trained? I'm still learning things myself and it'll be disastrous if we all are inexperienced." I said.

"Don't worry the new associates are very skilled in their profession." Ruby smiled. "I think you'll like them since they'll be handling the VIP Complex. Since I and my co workers work there and they all took off to find out what happened..." Ruby said.

"You were left alone. Yeah I got you." I said and stuck my hands in my pockets. I noticed one person walking in.

Ruby looked at the person and stood up. "That's one of them now. Hello! Welcome in!"

"Hey there. Are you Ruby by chance?" The woman asked.

"Yeah I am. It's nice to meet you." Ruby said and shook the woman's hand. "You are..."

"My name is Alison Green." The woman smiled at Ruby.

"Welcome Alison. Just to let you meet everyone. This is the property manager and landlord, Ray Owens." Ruby smiled.

"Wow he looks about my age." Alison said, a bit surprised.

"Yeah he's 23. Just a year older than you." Ruby smiled. "Mr. Owens, I'm gonna show Alison around. We can talk about the plans after I'm done."

I nodded and watched the two women walk off. I looked around and decided to explore the area. There was a library around here so maybe I can see what Nozumi was talking about...a woman who is in the library more than her own apartment. I made it to the library and walked inside. There was no one inside. I walked around to see if I could find that one woman. Nozumi seems to have found her a multitude of times to know she's always here.

As I walked around I noticed a woman on the floor, picking out books. I stopped and looked at her. 'Is she the one..?' I thought to myself.

The woman sensed my presence and looked back at me. "Huh. . ?"

I stared at her and she stared back at me. "You must be the woman who practically lives in the library."

"Who are you..?" She asked. She was a quiet type, she was also rather beautiful.

"My name is Ray Owens. I'm the Landlord." I said.

"Ray..." She said as she stared at me. "My name is Violet..."

Something about her was making it impossible for me to take my eyes off her. My phone started buzzing and it broke our trance. I took my phone out of my pocket and answered it. It was Ruby calling me to come back to the main lobby. I told her I'll be there. I hung up and put my phone back in my pocket.

"I have to go...I will see you around." I said.

"Yeah. See you later.." She replied.

I walked off and soon exited the library. I made my way back to the main lobby and met up with Ruby and Alison. "What's up?"

"So I gave Alison the run down already so she should be good. The other women also stopped by so I gave them the run down of their job. They are currently moving into the VIP Complex. Alison will be the one helping with property management because I know it can be a little hefty with just one person." Ruby said.

"I see. Thanks for agreeing to helping." I said.

"It's no issue." Alison smiled at me.

"Can I talk to you in private?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah sure." I said.

Alison walked off to the main office room to chat with my other associates.

"Okay, so after I pick up my sister and whatnot, I'm going to try and find out about what happened to Henry. I mean your father was...you know..." Ruby said.

"Yeah. I'm aware that he was always a reckless man. Gambled, Worked in Organizations my mom would never approve of, dealing with Mafia. Yeah shits bad, but he was never a bad person." I said.

"Yeah and I actually liked the guy too. That's why I'm going to try extra hard to find out the truth. You have his fortune and ownership of the entire complex. If anything happens, you can give me a call and I'll try to give you the best advice." Ruby smiled.

"Yeah as always. You were always like my second mother." I said.

Ruby chuckled and gently pinched my cheek. "I'm gonna miss you.."

I smiled and let out a chuckle. "I'm gonna miss you too."

Ruby held my cheek then rubbed my cheek with her thumb. "I promise to give you that answer even if it's the last thing I do."

I nodded then watched her walk off. I crossed my arms then noticed her look back at me one last time. We waved to each other one last time and a part of me was hurting. Ruby was the one who got me through my days working in the office. Watching her leave was like watching a part of me leave as well.

I decided to walk to the main office room to meet my other associates. I walked into the office and looked at Alison and three other women. They looked at me and waved.

"Hello Mr. Owens! It's nice to meet you." One of the women said.

I walked to her and nodded. "It's nice to meet you too."

"My name is Rachel Arnolds." The woman said and shook my hand.

I nodded and looked at another woman. She looked to be flustered when she noticed me looking at her.

"H-Hey. My name is Valkyrie Wattson." She said and held her hand out to me.

I shook her hand and smiled at her. I looked at the third woman.

"My...name is Agatha Brooks.." She said. She slowly held her hand out.

I gently shook her hand. She seemed to be a tepid woman, but also looked pretty exhausted. I couldn't get a clear understanding on her personality.

"It's going to be a pleasure working with you all. Let's all do our best alright?" I smiled at them.

"Yessir!" The four women said.
