1 Chapter 1: How To Conquer A Planet

The blue sun shone down on the beautiful world of Astra. It was currently a time of peace, as no wars had occurred in several decades. People of all races could be seen mingling in the trade kingdom of Valsir. Elves, dwarves, demonkin, beastkin, and humans could be seen mingling and going about their day. The era resembled medieval times, with mana taking priority over technology.

Valsir was a beautiful kingdom focused on commerce, sitting on the coast of the ocean. To the north, on the other side of the massive body of water, was Grungnir, the Archduchy of demonkin. To the east was Zaria, the land of elves. The south was a large amount of land, occupied by Jarheim, the kingdom of dwarves, and Laria, the human kingdom. Directly below them was the Veldhoven, the kingdom of beastkin.

Laria and Veldovin had been wrought with constant war in the past. It was only recently that peace had been achieved. Heroes would often emerge from the human kingdom, in order to destroy the Demon Lord, who ruled Gungnir. It was almost as if Laria was the source of all wars. Human greed had no bounds.

In the atmosphere above the settlements, a man floated in the clouds. The blue sun's rays basked the figure in its light. The man was dressed in an all black spandex like suit, outlining each and every muscle on his body. A weird symbol rested on the chest part of his suit. The wind caused his white cape to flutter.

His skin was a light brown color, a bright orange glow coming from his eyes. Dark hair waved on the top of his head, two small golden cuffs attached to his ears. The expression on his face resembled apathy. There was no care in the world.

The man tapped his wrist and a hologram appeared in front of him. The image resembled a woman donning an all white suit. She had short black hair and bright blue eyes.

"Taz, here is your mission. The target planet is known as Astra. They are a primitive people, relying on the world's secretions to power themselves and their activities. Their technology is subpar, almost nonexistent. Prepare this planet for Viltrum's arrival." She spoke.

Taz sighed while looking down at the planet and its people. His apathetic eyes twitched in slight annoyance.

"This world is my assignment? These…animals are just a waste of time."

This man was not new to this. He has already conquered several planets, this one being his ninth. He's an elite soldier who was handpicked for the viltrumite cause. Unlike his peers, he was able to grow strong at an incredible rate, approaching the likes of Conquest by 17 years of age. Some of his abilities were different, landing him special privileges and increased surveillance.

Due to his weird abilities, Emperor Thragg took notice when Taz was only a small child. He quickly ordered a viltrumite woman to take him under her wing. This same woman allowed him to train with elites, and ended up assigning him missions, such as this one.

"Oh well, let's begin." Taz muttered.

Not wanting to waste too much time, he decided to dedicate only a few years on this planet. He would not go past three.

After taking a step off the air, a sonic boom accompanied his acceleration.

BOOOM

Laria was his destination. History showed that it was a power hungry nation. It was the perfect place for a being such as him to take over. It only took a few moments for him to arrive. Even though he was still high above the clouds, he was able to see everything below.

Human citizens went about their day, doing task after task. A majority of them held chains in their hands, which were attached to collars of non humans. They were slaves. It seemed like slavery was common here in this kingdom.

"How pathetic. Barbaric even." Taz muttered.

In Viltrum, there was no need for slaves. Everyone had a role. If one wasn't a fighter, there were other paths they could take. There was no lack of workers. After getting a better grasp on the economic side of things, he then turned toward the castle.

Before even arriving on Astra, he had studied the place. Most of the current happenings were already to his knowledge. The current ruler of Laria was known as Ky, the Warrior King.

Taz focused on the castle and was able to see through it. The king had blonde hair and blue eyes that seemed electric. The slim but muscular man could be seen relaxing on a massive sofa in his bedchambers. Two female slaves fawned over him, one with catlike ears and the other with foxlike ears. He held onto their golden chains, forcing them to do his bidding.

The viltrumite's face remained stoic.

'I will finish this quickly.' He thought.

Wasting no time, Taz stepped off the air, blasting downwards toward the castle. His speed continued to increase and his cape billowed from the high winds. More sonic booms followed in his wake.

The warrior king immediately stopped what he was doing upon hearing the booms. His body quickly reinforced itself with mana. Quickly pulling up his pants, he grabbed his sword sheath which sat nearby. Taz burst through the ceiling before he could even pull it out of his sheath. The viltrumite's arm was already reared back.

Popping sounds resounded from his clenched fist, the air swirling around it. The deadly blow struck the king in his temple.

BOOOM

The shockwave turned the nearby slaves into meat paste. Ky blasted through the ground, smashing past several levels before stopping on the bottom floor. The walls of the bedchamber exploded as if a bomb had detonated.

The citizens of Laria turned to the castle in confusion. The loud booms had caused a commotion. Taz slowly floated down the holes of the castle. A cloud of dust covered the crater on the ground floor. This wasn't a problem for the elite soldier, who was different from his peers.

The warrior king seemed to be unconscious. Blood poured down his face. Taz floated above Ky with a stoic face. It was as if he knew what was coming. Suddenly, the king's body erupted with blue lightning. Like a possessed puppet, he rose from the ground onto his feet. An expression of supreme rage and malice adorned his face. Blood tears fell from his eyes.

"You must think I'm weak to attack me like this. I am the king of warriors, and you will die a pitiless death. I can't wait to piss on your corpse." He spoke quietly.

His legs shined with power. In an instant, he was beside the elite soldier. It was only at this moment that Ky unsheathed his sword.

SHIIING

Taz ducked under the attack with minimal movements. A lightning infused slash cut a portion of the castle into scraps. No matter who was in the way, they died without knowing what killed them.

While the king was still recovering from his attack, the viltrumite slammed a fist into his gut. The powerful blow caused him to fold over like paper.

"Guhhh!" A mix of blood and organ bits flew out of his mouth from the overwhelming punch. The strength left his body as he fell to his knees, clutching his stomach all the while.

"That's the thing." Taz finally spoke.

Grabbing him by the hair, Taz burst through the walls of the castle until they reached the throne room. He sat down on the blue and gold throne before continuing his words.

"You ARE weak."

As soon as he finished his words, his eyes shined red with energy. Two thin rays cut across the suffocating warrior's neck, severing his head. Ky the Warrior King was defeated in only two blows.

A few moments later, armored soldiers burst into the room, Alongside them were the royal advisors and clergy members. Each of them froze upon entering. The corpse of the king lay at the foot of the throne. A new figure sat on it, his foot on top of Ky's corpse, using it as a footstool. His body seemed to hold a great deal of explosive power. Ky's head sat on the steps, facing the entrance. Each of them could see his expression before death.

Taz gazed upon the newcomers with a cold expression. His eyes shined red with energy.

"I am the new king. If you wish to resist, speak now." He declared.

Everyone stood in silence. It was a shocking sight, especially the weird suit the man was wearing. A member of the clergy spoke up in anger.

"Idiotic fool! It is the church that puts the king on the throne! You will never-"

Red beams of death drilled through the man's brain, killing him instantly. The other members shivered in fear at the figure's ruthlessness. Not wanting to be next, they kneeled.

"My king!"

"My king!"

"Your majesty."

"Your majesty!"

The stoic viltrumite raised his hand. The voices quieted down.

"Gather the army. We shall march on Veldhoven in a week's time.

_____

Two and a half years passed after Taz became the new king of Laria. As soon as he took over, he declared war on the kingdom of Veldhoven. It was a clean victory that ended extremely fast, due to Taz's overwhelming strength. The next kingdom to fall was Jarheim, followed by Zaria, Valsir, and finally Grungnir.

Taz had accomplished his mission using brute force. There were plenty of routes that could've been taken, but this was one of the fastest ways. He could've killed each king by himself, and killed every single powerhouse, but that would be a lot of work.

The lone viltrumite had contacted his home planet during the conquest. By the time he finished, they would be close to arrival.

Today was the day. Waking up in the morning, Taz slowly rose out of his bed. His exit left the covers a mess, revealing three sleeping beauties, each of a different race.

The young man's face remained apathetic as he proceeded to wash up. It was time to welcome his people. A few hours later, a massive spaceship appeared over the planet.

Multiple viltrumites descended onto the planet with ease. To their surprise, an entire procession awaited them. Servants and soldiers bowed toward the approaching figures. Astra's citizens watched the sky with subservience.

Taz floated above the people, welcoming the viltrumites with open arms. They nodded to him with smiles. It was always a welcome sight when the opposing planet didn't resist.

Among the people leaving the ship was a woman. The same woman who assigned him the mission. She smiled as she floated down to him. For the first time since being on Astra, a smile appeared on Taz's face.

"You are here!" He exclaimed.

Anissa nodded with her hands behind her back.

"You've done a good job." She responded.

Taz beamed with pride. The woman patted his shoulder while surveying the area.

"The others can deal with the integration of resources. Let's go home, shall we?"
