Despite their seemingly symbiotic relationship in the eyes of the rest of the world, neither the Nightingale Clan nor the leaders of the Gray Wolfe Corporation were actually satisfied with the status quo.

After all, with their constantly declining independence, the Nightingale clan knew very well that if things kept going in the direction they were currently headed in… it was only a matter of time before even their clan's illustrious name would forever vanish from this world.

What would be left behind would just be a bunch of nameless, loyal dogs, with their only purpose being to further the goals and agenda of their 'masters'.

Of course, as the leader of the Gray Wolfe Corporation, Alexander's father also sensed the desire that his 'slaves' had of getting out of his control, and he wasn't very pleased, to say the least.
