James nodded awkwardly. "Yes, My Lord. It seems that we should immediately dismiss the accusations against His Grace and interrogate Peter."
Ethan then glanced at Duke Henry and bowed. "Forgive me for suspecting you, Your Grace," he said politely, with a faint smile.
Duke Henry cursed in frustration, turning his face away. "If it weren't for my gratitude that Helena is safe, I would have immediately kicked you out for sure."
Ethan did not respond to the Duke's anger. He straightened his posture and looked at James, who still appeared fearful, although he had calmed down slightly.
"I deserve to be punished and driven out of this house," Ethan said then. He looked at the Duke with a serious expression. "If it weren't for saving me, Helena wouldn't be injured like this."
"What?" Duke Henry's eyes looked incredulous. "I thought James misspoke earlier when he said that the perpetrator wanted to attack you. So, that's the truth?"
