Chapter 1: The Void

*The void*

When Lucia came to, she was staring down at burnt earth. She gasped for breath. Her eyes flickered up to the door in front of her. Suddenly, Clover loomed over and placed a hand on the door. It faded from sight. 

"Well, now we're here. The door is shut just like you wanted," Clover sighed.

Lucia was still regaining her breath. Her fingers trembled over the space where the door used to be. She let out a sob. She felt like she could barely breathe. She reached out into the hallow. Her whole body shook. It felt unreal. She didn't want to believe it was true.

She turned back to Clover with a murderous glare.

"Why?! Why!? WHY?" Lucia howled. "I spared your life!" Lucia babbled.

"You make it sound like I should be grateful," Clover scoffed, "Are you grateful to be alive, here, in the void?"
