Big Boss Behind The Scenes

On the rooftop of Heping Garden, Li Wei sat with her family and friends. Her hand held a cup of wine over the center of the table. "May we forever be together with happiness!"

"Let's get it!" The other happily clinked their cups together before downing it all in one go.

"Everyone, eat as much as you want. Today we're not going home until our stomachs burst!" She jokingly said as she piled up food onto her plate.

San'er was usually shy when dining with others since she had always been a maid. Her status was not on par with them, but these good people never minded. Over the years she spent serving the young miss, her life had been easy and fun.

After taking her first bite, she turned to Li Wei in satisfaction. "Miss, it's because of you that we get to taste the exquisite cuisines of the most popular restaurant in Hai'an."

Li Wei brought a large drumstick to her mouth, as if showing the younger girl how to properly enjoy a meal. "The happier you are, the more you should eat."

San'er giggled at how carefree the young miss was. These years, Li Wei slowly changed into a better person. She was not at all like her young self.

San'er felt relieved and grateful Li Wei matured into an admirable woman. She, herself, wanted to follow the good examples of her young miss.

On the other side, Hui, who had been on many trips with Li Fahrin, was used to eating as horribly as roots to royal cuisines. Not many things in life could surprise him.

Li Fahrin freely enjoyed herself. The food was amazing and combined with the stunning view of the city, the restaurant was indeed deserving of its reputation.

Next to Hui, Song Yishan was extra conscious of his actions. Earlier, they just walked in and was immediately led to the best dining table in the whole building regardless of the long line of customers that stood hours waiting for an empty spot.

Once the food on the table was almost finished, Li Wei waved the waiter over. "Bring a cherry blossom raindrop cake."

San'er's lips dropped into an O. "The renowned raindrop cake that even the empress personally sent for Chef Su into the palace?"

"En, that one." She lazily answered, a smirk coming onto her face. "You'll like it."

Song Yishan's reaction was similar to San'er. At this point, he wasn't sure if he should freak out yet. He almost felt as if he had fallen into a trap. "Big sister, are you sure?"

"We're here so might as well try it, right?" Li Wei shrugged in response as if it was the most casual thing in the world.

Just in time, the waiter returned with the cake in his hand. He carefully placed it onto the center. "Chef Su sends over his warm welcome. Please enjoy."

Li Wei gave him a warm smile. "Thank you for you work, you've done well."

Just as the waiter left, two familiar faces were led down the row of tables.

"Damn it," she swore under her breath. Why did she have to meet them everywhere?

The father was fine, but the daughter made her head hurt.

San'er also turned to look. "Miss, I forgot to tell you. They were also on the same ship as us..."

Li Wei roughly stuffed her mouth with a piece of cake to prevent herself from further swearing. These people, what business did they have in Hai'an?

Mo Shufen slowly flipped through the pages of the menu, oblivious to Li Wei's presence.

Master Mo waited patiently for his daughter and happened to glance to the right, spotting the group. "Li Wei? What a coincidence!"

"Ehh, indeed..." She forced herself to mutter as he walked over.

"What are you doing here in Hai'an?" He asked earnestly.

Li Wei had always been on good terms with Master Mo. She couldn't ignore him without good reason, thus, she replied, "Just hanging out with family and sightseeing."

Master Mo nodded in understanding. "Ah, Hai'an is indeed the perfect place for that. We're here to celebrate Shushu's birthday."

"Mmm nice," Li Wei commented as she placed another spoon of cake into her mouth.

It was rather unclear if she was complimenting Mo Shufen or the cake.

"Tell the young girl I wish her a happy birthday. Her mother would be most happy if she was still here," Li Fahrin kindly added.

At this point, Mo Shufen had seen her father talking to Li Wei. "Father, let's eat. The food is here."

Li Wei watched as Master Mo left back to his table. She twirled her spoon around. "You guys like it?"

"En! It's the best! It's like eating a cake, but not eating a cake. It's the most unique taste in the world!" San'er exclaimed honestly, laughing at how foolish her description sounded.

Song Yishan held both his thumbs up. "Of course, not everybody gets to have a taste. Big sister, you're amazing."

"It's you again?" An angry voice interrupted the light atmosphere.

Li Wei pursed her lips in annoyance. How many people would she need to meet today? "Yishan, you guys wait for me downstairs."

"Alright." Song Yishan didn't question and obediently led everyone away.

After they left, Li Wei's eyes changed. The villainess inside her was on the verge of breaking loose. "Remind me, where did we meet again?"

"Acting innocent? You almost broke my hand!"

"Ahh, you're that woman..."

"Which woman are you referring to?"

"The woman with a hideous face and an equally hideous heart. The one who thinks she stands on a golden pedestal and can squash anyone below her... Who else can it be?"

Madam Su pointed at Li Wei, her face becoming red from the excess anger running through her veins. "You! You impolite child, how dare you say that to an elder!"

Li Wei took a sip of wine and looked the shameless woman up and down. "Ah, so you do know you're old?"

"Listen, I'm not here to argue age with you. Be clear that you are not welcomed here. It was the staff's mistake to allow you in. From now on, don't come back." Madam Su glanced at the table where the half eaten raindrop cake shone beautifully. "And this, who gave you permission to eat such a precious delicacy?"

"Why not? With the money I have, I can enjoy a cake every morning for the rest of the year if I choose to." Li Wei was not one to brag about her wealth, but she purposefully poked Madam Su knowing the response wouldn't disappoint.

Such a conceited woman should be taught a lesson.

"Who do you think you're kidding? My husband doesn't cook everyday even for the empress." Madam Su laughed scornfully. "Do you think you're higher than the empress?"

Li Wei leaned forward so only Madam Su could hear her. "For everyone else, no, but your husband? Try it if you don't believe me."

Madam Su was so agitated she could no longer stand still. She immediately ordered a waiter to bring her husband.

Su Hong was in the kitchen sorting through the inventories when the waiter came. Hearing the situation, he dropped everything and ran up.

"Husband, I'm being bullied!" Madam Su ran over as soon as her husband appeared, tears coming down her face.

Her hands clutched his arm as she pitifully spoke, "That vixen over there claimed you would cook for her everyday if she orders it. You wouldn't do that, would you?"

Su Hong vaguely heard his wife's voice but offered no response as he stared at Li Wei.

Then, he directly walked over and fell on his knees. "Master, you've returned."

"En, that seems to be the case." Li Wei answered half heartedly. She then shrugged tauntingly at Madam Su.

Madam Su rushed to her husband. "Su Hong, what nonsense are you spouting? This is Yue Shangwu's daughter, Yue Biya."

"Is, that so...?" Su Hong muttered in surprise.

"That's me, I'm Biya." Li Wei had met Su Hong three years ago. At that time, he was a beggar roaming the streets.

From a nobody to the most popular chef in the country, Su Hong owed it all to her. Thus, he referred to her as 'master.'

Next to Su Hong, Madam Su started sweating. What if she really offended the wrong person? The consequences would be grave...

Li Wei naturally noticed the change in the malicious woman's face. She couldn't help but shoot a final arrow at Madam Su's falling ego. "Madam, you can't ban me from dining here. You can't stop me from coming. No one here will obey you if I'm around. One word from me and the luxuries in your life will disappear in an instant."

Her eyes turned into slits as words of daggers continued out from her lips. "You see this building here? You know those smaller chains of restaurants and teahouses of Heping? I'm the big boss who can ruin your life if you don't change your ways."

Madam Su's whole body trembled in fear. "You, you're not..."

"Well, guess what?" Li Wei paused, taking her sweet time in delivering the last blow. "Oops, I can't help it. I'm the freaking owner."

The heavy realization of how much Madam Su's comfortable life could easily reverse back to its original was too much.

As soon as the last word came from Li Wei, she fainted on the spot. Su Hong quickly apologized in place of his wife before carrying her downstairs to rest.

Li Wei crossed her arms disapprovingly. These people. They acted so mighty just because they were wealthy.

Madam Su treated the poor and the unknown horribly, but couldn't even bear a bit of playing from her.

Weak, useless, and a waste of space.

Li Wei didn't bother to check in with Su Hong and directly went to her carriage.

Nearby, Mo Shufen's eyes widened. Having watched the whole scene unfold, she couldn't believe her ears.

Li Wei, that girl who was once a beggar, was from a noble family.

The villainess of Na'an now stood higher than her, and that fact made her really uncomfortable.
