Countless Possibilities

Wha-

I wasn't able to respond for a second, staring blankly as Asura revealed a smug grin before knocking elegantly on the stylish wooden door that was partially open and stepping in.

I really have no idea what she's thinking about anymore… Lampooning, I reluctantly turned around to walk to my own class.

In the end, I couldn't verify any of the answers I had to my queries. I sighed as I reached up to smooth out my furrowing forehead.

It's OK, Lancera. Based on the way she was acting, at least she doesn't seem to have learned about Cassian Hall yet.

And if she did hear about him, then perhaps she didn't care about him enough to even ask me about it.

But again, with the way those other girls were acting, would she really not care about Cassian Hall?

Now that I think of it, I don't know anything about Asura's preferences in men… but that's not something I can just walk up to her and ask either… I don't want to make it sound like I'm trying to push her off!

And! The fact that she doesn't even know my brother is in this school… doesn't this just show how little I stand in her heart? Actually, do I stand in her heart at all?

What if… she's just playing me? To think of it, how is it possible that I'm able to exploit her weaknesses so easily sometimes, but can't tell at all what she's thinking about at other times?

In fact, this wasn't the first time I've thought about it, but I've always waved it off…

As I thought of the possibilities, my heart suffered a wrenching pain that I've never felt before.

Hmm? What is this feeling?

Freezing slightly, I thought of another possibility, but I quickly turned my mind from it, unable to accept the madness of its existence.

Hastening my steps, I pondered over what I should do next.

There's nothing I can do right now even though I had been so determined just a little while ago… whether it was about King Ernest's goals, Cassian Hall's existence, or increasing Asura's affection towards me.

With a new variable coming in, I can't just do whatever I want anymore. I need to be cautious and not underestimate anyone.

Taking a deep breath, I pushed open the classroom entrance to my next class, just in time to hear the chimes signaling the start of the next period ring throughout the almost empty halls.

I... I guess I'll just lay low for now.

That's the second time that Lancera says that. Question is, will she follow that commitment to the end? XD

Creation is hard, cheer me up!

Thanks for reading~
