Chapter 2: The Market

It was the morning that my cousin was screaming at my bloody face to get me out of bed. Her method has been effective as I was showering and out of the bedroom, wearing a summer dress as it was summer and I think it would help it that we were about to hit the flea market today.

"Okay, so I have a list of the things that I need to get for my friends. What will you get for your friends, Olivia?" Kaka asked me as we were in the van, and Theo's family was behind us in their own tour guide's van.

"Huh? Oh, I don't think I would buy something for my friends," I said as I was looking at the window. I was enjoying the view as I saw the quaint house like the ones that we're renting and I smiled.

"Look! There is a cat on the street and there's one on the roof," my sister said as she was pointing it out. I looked at them and smiled. I thought of getting a cat after I moved out of the house. I wondered if Theo was allergic to them.

"You know, I saw you last night," Kaka said as she was whispering to me. Honey was dozed off as we were heading toward the market.

"Most of the vendors they're made their products and it was different from every vendor. You might found the trinket was not the same even you buy at the same vendor because they were the same yet different," our tour guide said as I was listening to it.

"Okay, off we go," my father said as the tour guide opened the door and I was the last to get out, as always before I saw Theo headed out of the van. He nodded at me as I was smiling at him before I went to my cousin and aunt Mimi.

"Hey, look at this, isn't it wonderful?" Kaka said as she was mentioning me to the trinket that she was holding in front of my eyes. I saw that Theo was checking out some of the vendors with Jimmy before I saw my mum was coming at me.

"Olivia, I almost forget to give you this for your birthday," my mum was turning me around before I felt something heavy against my neck. I looked at it and gasped. It was a tiny white teardrop-shape Topaz as I was touching it. It was silver and it goes well with my fair skin.

"Oh, thank you, mum. It is beautiful," I said as I was touching it. It felt familiar but I cannot place it where. I was looking at my mum before hugging it. then, I went to walk with my aunt and Kaka for our trip souvenir for our friends.

"How much are those pants?" I asked my aunt as I was eyeing the hiking pants that were in navy blue. My aunt asked the vendor and it was around 200 euros. It was more than I can afford but I was thinking about my own money.

"So, do you have euros or do you have in dollars?" My aunt asked me.

"I have dollars," I replied.

"Well, if dollars, that would be around $179, do you still want it?" She asked me as I was eyeing the pants. I shook my head as I saw an old man was eyeing me. I felt that creepy before I ushered my aunt and cousin to another vendor.

We were exhausted as I was trying to catch a breath. It was not great but I think I can be happy with this. I looked at the seating and there was no space for me to relax. Then my aunt offered up some space and I took it.

I was still eyeing the pants and it was a shame that I could not have it. Then I saw that old man again as he was eyeing me from afar. I turned around to avoid him as I looked at Theo who was talking to the young woman at one of the vendors. Instantly, jealousy pangs into my heart before I shook it aside. He would not do that, not in front of me anyway.

"Olivia, let's go, we have to get ready," Kaka said as she was dragging me up from my seat. I just relaxed my feet for a bit.

"Ready for what?" I asked as I was getting up and saw that the old man was gone. I sighed in relief before Kaka dragged me out of the trace.

"You'll see," she said as she was dragging me into one of the places. I did not know what it was but I have a scary vibe attached to it.

"Where are we?" I asked them before I was surprised by Tina and Nina.

"Surprised!" They shouted as I looked at them, startled by the appearance.

"Guys?! What are you doing here and what are wearing?" I asked them as they have a gun to their side and they were a virtual reality mask.

"Well, since it was your birthday, I have decided we go to play and kill some zombies from Korea's apocalypse, what do you say?" Nina asked me as I was blinking at them.

"Playing to kill? hell yeah!" I said before I went to the change in the change room as kaka was leading me on.

I was changing and put on my stuff as I saw Theo was leaning against the window. I shrieked before I turned to look at him. He was smirking at me.

"You should have knocked. What if I was undressed?" I asked him as I was putting on my fake gun and virtual reality mask.

"Well, that would be my luck to see your body," he said before I blushed.

"Shut up," I said as I was putting on some of the bands on my clothing. This cosplay was not a thing to mess up.

"Yeah, let's fucking rock," Kaka shouted as I heard Tina and Nina as well.

"I better go," I said as I was trying to past him.

"Don't. Stay with me tonight," Theo said as he was blocking my way.

"Theo, not now," I said as I was trying to push him aside.

"You're the target tonight," he whispered as his hot breath was mingling with me. I met his eyes.

"What?"

"The play, you have to leave. You're the target. My god, Nina will kill me now," he said as he was running his finger through his hair.

"What do you mean? I was about to play—"

"And they will kill you in that play. Please, Olivia, listen to me for once in your life," he said, more like pleading before I see the desperation in his eyes.

"Okay, if you don't want me to play, then I will not. But they must be waiting for me to get out there and attack me," I said as I was looking at him.

"Well, I got that covered," he said before he took my fake gun and my virtual reality mask.

"Hey, I pay to play that," I said as I saw him strapped his gun and mask.

"I see you on the other side then," he said before he kissed me briefly and went out the door. He stopped before he smirked over the shoulder.

"Wait here,"

"As I have anywhere to be anyway," I said as I was crossing my arms at him. He smirked and then he was gone.

As I was waiting in the room, I can hear the scream and the shouting of the pain that I hoped Theo was inflicting, not receiving them. I prayed and prayed until the time has ended and Theo was returning my equipment like I was the one that played.

"Well, never to mess with Olivia in real life or virtual reality," Nina said as she was rubbing her neck as I can see the red dot and some other bruises that I don't want to know about. Tina and kaka had the same kind as well on their fair complexions.

"Now you know me," I said as I was laughing at them when we were heading back to the vans.

When we arrived, Theo was already leaning against the van and he looked like a supermodel. How I wanted to be with him right now, feeling his skin against me.

After I went out to the van, I greeted my mum and dad as well as my sisters before a commotion was happening.

"What's going on?" I asked them as they shrugged. People were screaming in Turkish and we were so dumb to understand or maybe read the signs that we should be running before a group of people were coming at us. The old man that I saw in the market was leading them and they went to my family and friends.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked him as he was handcuffing Tina. I went to help her get out of it as the old man was handcuffing Theo.

"You're under arrest for suspicious activity in the arcade just now," he was reading Theo's right to have a lawyer, and any words that he said now will be against him in court.

"Leave him alone!" I shouted as I did not realize that I was being handcuffed from behind. My friends and family were being handcuffed in front but I was an exception.

"Oh, come one!" I shouted before I was heading toward the car as two women came and assisted me in the car.

"Is this her?"

"Yes," the old man replied as the woman shoved me into the car. I was being struggled as I was trying to close the door.

"Can you just?"

"Yeah," the woman that will be driving was closing the door to my side as the old man was looking at me.

I was not having this fight as I was trying to get the handcuffs to be in front of me as I was twisting my arms as I was dragging it down and pulled it out onto the front. I also find a way to get out of it but I was pretending to hold it in as the other woman was looking at me.

"Stay still or else," she threatened me before the car moved, living my friends and families into the rearview as I was screaming and calling their names.

I had enough of this before I threw the handcuffs across the car and the woman on the shotgun was smirking at me.

"Took you long enough," she said before I felt sleepy and I dozed off, not knowing where I might be.

"You, wake up, sleepyhead. Wake up!" A voice was startling me as I was coming into a view that the woman who was driving me was staring at me as I was laying down on the back seat. I was hanging my face upside down and my mouth was open.

"I never thought you were snoozing all the way here," she said as she was pulling me out of the car.

"It's the jet lag,"

"Sure it is," she said as she was pulling me to walk. I saw the old man was standing in front of the door. Anger was consuming me.

"Where's my family? Where's my friends?" I shouted at him as his face was stoic as ever.

"Fuck you!" I shouted before I was dragged inside the house. If I was not so angry at the turn out of the event, I would be appreciating the interior design of the fucking mansion right now.

"So, you're finally here," a voice interrupted the tantrum that I was demanding to be released this instant. At that booming voice, I stopped in my attempt as I saw the slate orbs were staring at me with the smirk full on his lips.

"You?"

"That is me,"

"Who are you?" I asked as I was not having a signal on my radar that I might know him but no luck.

"What do you mean?"

"Sorry, I don't even know you and why are you expecting me?" I asked as I was confused before he smirked again and this time wider.
