Prologue!

A gentle, serene breeze blew through the Empire's Capital City. Magnificent buildings lined the streets, as the booming music of the red-light district echoed in the background.

It was night time, a blanket of darkness covering most of the sky as the only illumination was the expansive 3 moons that hung in the night sky, alongside the various beautiful stars that formed constellations. Nightlife had truly kicked off, but for our protagonist, he didn't care.

"Yawn!" As he woke up, Damien sat up on his luxurious bed, tired as he just completed a long dream. It was a dream about his past life, his time with his beloved younger sister.

"18 years huh." Damien mumbled.

It has been 18 years since he was reincarnated into this world, the world of his Sister's favourite novel, 'The Empress and the Saint.'

Damien had never read the novel, and all the information he had gotten was from her ramblings.

In this world, Gender-Roles were reversed. Women ruled the Empires and were the breadwinners while Men took care of the home due to the fact that Women were much more likely to Awaken their Mana Cores.

The Plot was about the Crown Princess Bethany and a mysterious young man named Sirius. 

Sirius was the son of a Countess, one of the rare men whom had awakened a Mana Core, and was also massively talented in Magic and Combat.

For reference, 1 out of every 100 women would awaken a Mana Core, but only 1 out of every 10,000,000 men would awaken. This made awakened men the creme of the crop, and having an awakened man in your family could instantly send your status from commoners to on par with lower nobles.

Sirius wasn't only talented, he was handsome and intelligent and after a series of meet-cutes with the Crown Princess Bethany, they fell in love and became a couple, experiencing trials and tribulations along the way.

Their biggest tribulation was with the Novel's Villainess, Grand Duchess Elena Frost. She was the Empire's biggest prodigy, exceptional in anything Magic related. Her parents died when she was 12 and she broke conventional rules, taking over the Duchy there and then and leading it to prosper.

At the beginning of the Novel, Elena was looking for a marriage partner, and thus sent out a marriage application to prospective nobles, but after 2 years, no-one had caught her eye, until she stumbled into seeing Sirius.

Thus, instead of ruling her Duchy and using her immense talent to rise to the top, Elena stupidly wasted her time chasing a man who didn't want her, destroying herself in the process before eventually being sold to a slave ring at the end of the Novel.

Damien's Sister hated this ending, as she believed Elena was too smart and talented to act so stupidly around Sirius who she thought didn't deserve her, which lead to his sister constantly ranting to him.

Damien in the Novel was an irrelevant character. He was the 6th Prince, with a mysterious father who had died soon after his birth, leaving him with no power or influence in the palace.

If things were to go how they went in the Novel, when Damien turned 20, Bethany would have him sold off to the Queen of a neighboring Kingdom, where he would then be abused and used like a sex toy constantly until his early death only 2 years afterwards.

With this future knowledge, Damien had meticulously planned out the first 18 years of his life. Unlike the original Damien, who was meek and unconfident, barely leaving the palace, Damien did many things to improve his resume.

He attended Xerxia Academy, graduating first in his class with record breaking grades. He also was a member of the Student-Council, implementing intelligent reforms and initiatives that showed off his unique intelligence.

Damien did all this to improve his resume because he wanted to apply to become Elena Frost's Husband.

According to the Novel's timeline, Elena still had one more year before meeting Sirius, and was currently still waiting for a good application to come in.

Unlike others, Damien knew exactly what Elena wanted so he tailored his life towards that. 

Elena wanted a high-quality Nobleman. The man must be smart, graduating from one of the 3 big Academies, must be innovative, handsome and be an Awakened.

These secret requirements had made it so basically no men aside from Sirius could possibly meet them, but Damien used all 18 years of his life to made sure he met them. Damien had sent in his application to Elena, and was currently awaiting a response.

Now, he had just arrived at the final hurdle, Awakening.

In the novel, Damien's Awakening Status was never revealed, but he presumed the previous Damien had awakened since he would've needed to have some value to be sold off to the Queen of a Kingdom.

Damien got up and grabbed the Awakening Potion, uncorking it and after taking a deep breath, Damien chugged it all down. He felt the liquid slide down his throat and dissolve throughout his body, with a mysterious energy slowly filling him up.

"Mana." He muttered, before being jump-scared by a mysterious occurrence.

 An unfamiliar Golden Screen appeared before Damien.

"System?" Damien whispered, he had certainly heard of Systems before in his previous life. His Sister had read and rambled to him about many System novels, so he knew Systems were very powerful and useful.

The system's notification sounded in Damien's mind.

"Since there's nothing else for me at the moment, could you tell me the information I need to know about this system?" Damien questioned.

" Status." Sirius said after, a Golden Floating Status screen appearing in front of his eyes, detailing his status currently.

Damien looked at his status and nodded, nothing particularly was out of place. 

Without wasting any more time, Damien decided to open the Newcomer Package given to him by the System. Clicking on the gift bag, Damien received the rewards.

Damien immediately inspected the various rewards, becoming more and more shocked as he read them.

"System, can I accept these rewards here without issue?" Damien asked. In various novels, accepting rewards this powerful would usually draw loads of attention, or worse backlash against the person, so Damien needed to be informed.

[ Host would be unconscious for 12-24 hours while merging with the rewards. However, there will be no mysterious phenomena or aura attracting anyone to the host. System will prevent it. ]

Damien read the System message and hurriedly nodded, barely able to curb his immense excitement as he yelled in his mind, "Merge with the Rewards!"

Immediately, Damien felt his vision going black.

Meanwhile, in the Office of the Grand Duchess, Elena Frost.

"This is all you could find?" Elena's beautiful, charming voiced echoed out as she sat behind her desk, flipping through the pages of her subordinates report.

Elena was tall, around 6'3 in height, with alluring skin that was as a white as celestial frost, alongside long silver hair that reacher her shoulders and icy blue eyes. She has a beautiful face, coral lips and seductive eyes that make it hard for any man to reject her.

Elena has an extremely perfect body. Her legs were long and elegant, and she had a perfectly sized butt and breasts, not too big & not too small, perfect for both her combat, and her beauty. Her body had to power to flatten buildings if she wanted to, and she usually wears tight outfits to accentuate her alluring figure.

Her aura exuded power, mystery, and authority, making it hard to look away from her. Her piercing icy blue eyes looked at her subordinate, before returning to the report.

The report had Damien's picture, alongside knowledge of his life up until this point, but it was only a few pages.

The biggest problem of the report was that it was good, far far too good. Damien could be seen to be a perfect person. Tall, moderately handsome, extremely intelligent, not involved in any controversies or drama, mysterious and, although he had no power backing him up, he was still a Prince.

"Sorry, I employed all the available resources, but this is all that could be found. No-one could even give me a tiny bit of information relating to anything bad he could've done, or anything he's hiding."

Elena's subordinate, a Young Woman named Athena, responded. It was the first time she conducted such a weird investigation. Usually, every person would at least have some skeletons in their closet, especially someone like Damien who was a prince but with no power.

But this time around, no matter how much she dug around, it was all for naught. Damien had nothing bad about him to be found, but that made him more nervous. After all, what could he be planning towards Elena?

"Has he awakened yet?" Elena asked, tossing the report to the side, reading it over and over again would be useless.

"Reports say he should be conducting his private awakening ceremony at his home around this time." Athena responded.

"Since he's so perfect and mysterious, let us go and meet him immediately. If he has successfully awakened, I'll take him as my Husband. leaves the palace the same time every week, she will probably leave tomorrow. Bring her here."

"Umm..Now???" Athena asked.

"Yes, immediately!" Elena said, getting up as she left the room, walking briskly as she got ready to meet this mysterious 6th Prince.
