Is It My Turn Already??

The controlled kobolds and goblins surged forward, splitting into two cohesive groups. The first group swarmed the charging Woodland Orcs with unrelenting ferocity, their numbers overwhelming the larger foes. The second formed a defensive perimeter around Grall and his weary comrades, their huge mass creating something like a living wall that shielded the defenders. The monstrous horde moved with eerie precision, each step guided by Nyx's unwavering control.

Grall, bloodied and fatigued from hours of battle, watched the scene unfold in stunned disbelief. "Kobolds? Goblins? Fighting for us?" His voice was hoarse, disbelieving.

Beside him, a younger guard staggered backward, his sword trembling in his hands. "This can't be real... Are they actually on our side?"

Grall snapped his head toward the guard, a mix of exhaustion and frustration in his eyes. "It's Lord Nyx!" he barked. "Do you still doubt his strength?! Have you learned nothing?"

The guard's mouth opened to retort but closed again as he watched the tide of the battle shift. The sight of the monstrous reinforcements overwhelming the Orcs silenced any lingering doubts.

Meanwhile, Nyx remained detached, his attention fixed entirely on the Orc Commander. The beast stood amidst the chaos, its jagged blade glowing faintly in the sunlight as it issued guttural commands to its troops. The battle raged around them, but to Nyx, the world had narrowed to this singular opponent.

"Interesting," Nyx murmured under his breath, the corner of his mouth curving into a faint smile. His grip tightened on his sword, his body coiling like a predator about to strike. "Let's see what else you've got."

The air grew heavier, thick with tension as Nyx advanced.

The Orc Commander let out a deafening roar, slamming its jagged blade into the ground. The impact sent a shockwave rippling through the battlefield, scattering debris and kicking up a dense cloud of dust that obscured the creature from view.

A split second later, the dust parted as the Orc Commander charged out like a battering ram, its blade raised high and aimed directly at Nyx.

But Nyx was already airborne.

With a single, fluid motion, he leapt over the charging behemoth, the force of his movement carrying him cleanly past the creature's massive bulk. He landed behind it, his boots hitting the ground with barely a sound.

The Orc Commander skidded to a halt, its glowing eyes narrowing as it spun around. Despite its brute appearance, the creature's sharp gaze betrayed a dangerous intelligence. It growled, recognizing Nyx as a foe unlike any it had faced before.

Once more, the Orc Commander slammed its massive blade into the ground. This time, the resulting shockwave was accompanied by an even thicker cloud of dust and a fierce gust of wind that swept across the battlefield.

"Argh!" a knight near the camp groaned, shielding his face from the stinging blast of dirt and debris.

"I can feel it from here!" another knight shouted, his voice tinged with panic as he struggled to remain standing against the wind.

Nyx narrowed his eyes, his mind racing. 'Same trick again?' he thought. But something felt off. The ground beneath his feet was eerily silent.

'No footsteps,' Nyx realized. 'Especially not from a creature that size...'

Before he could piece it together, massive chunks of debris erupted from the thick dust cloud. Human-sized stones, propelled with lethal force, hurtled toward him in rapid succession.

Nyx reacted instantly, his reflexes honed from countless battles. The first three projectiles he evaded with swift, precise movements, each dodge bringing him closer to the hidden threat.

The fourth stone, however, came at an awkward angle, forcing Nyx to act differently. He sidestepped sharply and deflected the projectile with a calculated swing of his blade. The clash sent a sharp vibration up his arm, but he held firm, the debris splitting into harmless fragments as it flew past.

The dust cloud showed no signs of dissipating, but Nyx could feel the Orc Commander's presence moving within it.

'Using the dust for cover and launching debris as a distraction,' Nyx thought, his mind working like clockwork. 'It's stalling... or setting up something bigger.'
