The crime partners

Thea looked around carefully. It was late evening so the place was a bit dark and isolated. She couldn't understand why he chose such a place to meet someone. Didn't he have money to meet in a restaurant or something? Oh right, he was actually a poor boy who didn't even have the ability to pay his loans.

The pizza boy took out a button phone from his pants pocket.

"I'm here. Where are you?"

"Give us a few more minutes. We'll be there right away."

"Hmm..."

Thea, who just heard his phone conversation, adjusted her standing position in great curiosity. She knew that what she was doing was actually wrong but who knows whether they plan an illegal thing or not? This way, she could be a heroine who discovered thugs planning a murder or a bank robbery.

Half an hour later, another two boys with hoodies came to that dark lane in a relaxed manner. Thea tiptoed and even popped her head out of her hiding place, just to see who the duo was. Nonetheless, she couldn't clearly see their faces as they wore black masks covering half of their faces, unlike the pizza boy.

"Hmph! I was waiting for so long and thought that you guys forgot our meeting completely. Right boys?" Although the pizza boy's voice sounded calm and collected, there was a hidden anger below it.

A boy who had the same green eye colour as the pizza boy, laughed lightly, patting his back as if he was consoling an angry kid.

"Don't get mad at us bro. We're innocent. An old lady bothered us to carry her heavy bags that's why we are late. It's not intentional."

The three of them then started talking about their everyday stuff and recent events which were insignificant. Thea felt her foot hurting from standing in the same spot for too long. She became impatient as she listened further and further.

'What the freaking hell?! They are even more gossipier than girls. Where's the murder or robbery? Cut the crap and enter the topic you fools!'

"Are you planning to meet her?" Pizza boy suddenly asked, out of nowhere.

Thea's ears perked up when she heard it.

'Here comes the interesting part. But... wait a minute!'

Her eyes widened as her imagination went wild.

'...Are they planning a rape case? Holy fock!'

Thea kicked the wall in front of her in anger. It made a sound and the boys stopped their talk instantly.

"I heard a sound." Pizza boy said.

Others nodded their heads.

Boy A: "I heard it too."

Boy B: "Hey, did someone follow us here?"

"..." "..." "..."

Thea's whole body froze.

It looked like now she was the one who would become the victim of their crime. No way! She's doomed!

"Lemme check." Boy A started coming towards Thea's direction. Thea closed her eyes and covered her mouth using her hand, scared. She heard his footsteps beside her. If he turned left, he would definitely see her. Thea rooted to the ground as she didn't even try to lift a finger, appearing like a marble statue.

Boy A's perfume was so strong and though it seemed strange, she could still smell it from such a distance as it was so strong. The fragrance entered her nostrils and it made her nose itchy. Soon after, she felt her nose turning red and a sneeze was about to come out.

'Oh no,no,nooo...'

Thea blocked her nose in order to prevent the sneezing from coming out.

Boy A strolled there for a while before going back to his gang.

Thea heaved a sigh of relief. Finally, she escaped! Not long after, she felt someone poking her shoulder. She shook her shoulder, looking annoyed.

"Tsk, don't disturb me, I'm on a huge mission." She blurted out without thinking. Finally, she broke into cold sweat as she realized what she'd done just now.

"Aaah!" She gave a soft and low scream before turning around to see who poked her. OMG!

It was that troublemaker.

Mr Henry Adeline.

Thea started breathing again in reassurance.

"Dear sister, What are you doing here, may I ask?" Henry interrogated rather sarcastically while crossing his arms on his chest.

"Sshh!" Thea hushed him. "They'll hear you."

"Who? I can't see anyone here apart from two puppies."

Thea was so annoyed by this little rascal.

"Hey, you little idiot! I'm talking about them." She said pointing at the gang of criminals. But to her surprise, they had disappeared. Looked like they flew as they doubted that someone was spying on them. Now all she could see was a black, skinny puppy in a dark corner.

'Shit! I missed my golden opportunity.'

She turned to Henry again.

"Fool, where's your mathematical knowledge? I can only see one puppy. NOT two!"

Henry pointed at her. "There's another one right beside me." Saying that, he started laughing like a maniac.

Thea: "..." 'What a trash can! It's not even funny.'

After laughing to his hearts' content, he finally stopped joking with her. Instead, he repeated his question. "Now tell me. What are you doing here?" Henry acted like her big brother although he was younger than her.

Thea pressed her lips, racking her brain to think of a valid reason. Unexpectedly, an idea came to her mind.

"Oh, I was just looking for some ingredients to make... cookies?!"

"Cookies?" Henry gagged.

"Disgusting! Who eats cookies at such an age? Are you still a kid? You must be 7, NOT 17!"

Thea rolled her eyes.

"I'm not making them for you. So, why do you care, huh?"

Henry clicked his tongue.

"Forget about cookies. Do you want to have fun?" He winked.

Thea was suspicious.

"What are you up to?" She asked doubtfully.

Henry sighed disappointedly.

"I asked you to accompany me out of our siblings' love. But you... You think of me in such a way. I can't believe that you are actually my sister." He sobbed.

Thea grinded her teeth.

"Aah, Cut the crap and tell me, you silly idiot!"

Henry was quite upset.

"Why do you always call me an idiot? You make me feel like stupid though I'm the class first. The real fool is you, sis-ter. What was your position at the latest exam?"

He pretended to be thinking just to annoy her.

"Hmm... The position after first. I mean... first from the last! Ha ha ha..."

Thea didn't want to stay with that jerk anymore. She turned to leave.

Henry reached out and grabbed her wrist, preventing her from leaving.

"Wait, wait, wait, sissy. Don't miss this chance."

"Hey lemme go." Thea snapped, shaking his hand.

"No sis, you'll surely enjoy it. Just come with me, will ya?" This time his voice turned serious which was rare.

"Hey, are you abusing a girl?"

A policeman came into their sight, from nowhere.
