" they not know I exist, or do they know I'm running? I don't know" she asked, her voice trembling.
"But why? Why would they kill a pure witch? I thought the mad king acted solely out of anger. This is the first I've heard of it," I replied, confusion etching my features.
"My lord, they kill because they fear the power we hold. They've initiated a secret hunt. That's why they kill my father. " she said, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
"Tell me about Elenore. You say she is not a half-but pure. How is that possible? And why are you so surprised she didn't die?" I pressed, seeking clarity in the tangled web of her words.
"My lord, when she first arrived, she healed herself. Only a half-pure witch can do that. I believed her to be like me, but when she healed, I never used black magic on her," she explained, her voice barely above a whisper.
"So you lied," I concluded, the weight of the revelation sinking in.
