Chapter 33 Go see your parents

Jing Yue kept his gaze fixated on her. She was even more beautiful up close.

"Good evening, sir. I would like to meet Mr Jin Liwei," she said looking at him straight. "And who are you?" Jing Yue asked. "I'm Liling. I have matters to discuss with him," she added. "And what could those matters be?" he asked. Flashing a small smile, she said," They are personal, thank you. Will I be able to see him?" "Unfortunately it won't be possible. He doesn't know you and he also doesn't expect you. But I will be glad to help," he offered. Liling thought about it and said," I'm looking for my friend, Li Fei and I have a strong feeling that she's in there." He chuckled before saying," And what makes you think she's here? Did she tell you so?"

"I know because she was taken - anyway, I will go to his workplace and talk to him," she decided not to give him much information because being an ex-convict isn't something to be proud of. "Thanks for your time," she said before leaving and he watched her put back her helmet before sitting on her motorbike which drove off. Jing Yue remained standing there until the bike disappeared from his sight.

"Who was the girl?" asked Jin Liwei who had been standing in front of the window the moment he left. "She's her friend. She was sure her friend is here," he said. "How comes? I will have to look into her," said Jin Liwei. "I will be the one to do that," offered Jing Yue and Jin Liwei threw him a suspicious look.

On her way back, Liling couldn't get the man's picture out of her mind and she shook her head to get rid of such thoughts. She had to remind herself that men were betrayers. 'Focus focus focus, Liling,' she whispered to herself. Her main target right now was to find Li Fei.

For the whole week, Liling was trying to get herself an appointment with Mr Jin Liwei but his schedule was always full and she couldn't get to see him.

Back to Jin Liwei's house, he hadn't returned home for the whole week and it made Li Fei wonder if he still remembered what she had asked him. Just to make one phonecall is what she had asked!

On one morning, she had just woken up when the door opened and Yin Chen came in with a phone saying," Good morning, Li Fei. The Young Master asks to speak to you. He's on the phone."

Surprised, she immediately composed herself and stretched her hand to get the phone," Hello?" "You have a day to go see your parents. The driver will be waiting to take you to the airport. You're expected to be home before eight tomorrow," said Jin Liwei. She couldn't believe it. All she asked for was a call but now, she was going to see them. "Thank you, thank you so much Mr Jin Liwei," she said and heard him ending the call. Excitedly, she got up and quickly bathed then dressed up and left the room. She didn't even have the time to eat anything and quickly rushed outside to find the driver she had been told.

The car pulled off in front of her family's mansion and for some minutes, Li Fei remained seated inside the car. She started becoming nervous. Four years without coming to Beijing and to her family's house. A while later, she covered her hair with a shawl and her eyes with big shades so that she couldn't be recognized by people. Getting out, she pressed the bell and unfamiliar person came to open the small gate. "How can I help you Miss?" he asked. "Ah... Are the Lis home?" she asked. "The Lis? Or you mean Mr and Mrs Li! I know them because most people come looking for them here. They left this house." Li Fei felt her heart pound in her chest. Does that mean that what Liu Han told her in prison was true? "Do you know where I can find them?" she asked. The man nodded and gave her the address. Li Fei stared at the house in which she grew up before sitting back in the car.

She knew that it was Jin Liwei's doing and it made her wonder if he will ever stop.

Reaching the given address, Li Fei looked and saw a medium sized Villa. It wasn't that bad but it couldn't be compared to their home mansion. Taking a deep breath, she covered her face again and left the car to knock on the gate. Shortly, a man came to open and Li Fei realized that it was their Butler. "How can I be of help to you Miss?" he asked and she realized that he hadn't recognized her.

Removing the shades, he exclaimed," Miss Li Fei!!!" She became surprised when he pulled and hugged her. Wasn't she always proud and arrogant towards them? Honestly, she didn't expect the Butler and maids to have missed her. "How did you get here? Did you escape? Wasn't it supposed to be seven years?" he asked. "I will tell you everything but before, how are my parents?" she asked.

"Mrs Li is fine. They are both fine. Please come in," he said and led her inside. She entered and they walked towards the house.

On entering, she was told to sit at the couch as her parents were still in their room. She could imagine the shock they were going to receive because surely, no one expected her.

She heard footsteps on the stairs when suddenly, they stopped and she raised her eyes to see her mother who had noticed her on first glance looking at her in shock and disbelief.

Tears gathered in her eyes and she stood up then said,"Mom."

Li Mei didn't know if she was dreaming again because she had dreamt of seeing her daughter again multiple times. "Mom, it's me," she heard her say again and she took slow steps down the stairs in fear of her disappearing the next minute. When she reached her, she poked her to make sure she was the real before tightly hugging her.

Both women broke down due to the emotions they were experiencing.
