Chapter 222 Important and necessary

After much silence she said,"Liling, let's not talk about that now. Thank you for telling my mother the truth. And also tell Jing Yue that I thanked him."

After speaking to Jianyu, she closed her eyes to sleep. Even though she and Jin Liwei had splitted, a small part deep in her heart was still in doubt especially when she recalled the things they had been through. And it turns out, that she had been right all along. There's no way Jin Liwei would have done all the things he did for her if he didn't love her. His feelings had always been true. The next day, Li Fei paid a visit to Li Jiang and Xinyi.

"I'm lazy but I will be alright," she replied. "The baby bump is so big. How much left before I get to meet my nephew?" she asked. "Twelve weeks," she replied. "Okay. So tell me, do you feel any movements in there?" she asked. "Yes. Sometimes I feel it kicking." "Awww, it must be an incredible feeling," she said completely awed. "Very. Only a mother can relate to it. How have you been? Jiang told me that you had travelled to Shenzhen. How has it been?" she asked. "Not bad." "Let me hope you've come to stay with us for some good time," said Xinyi. "That will be for next time. Probably when my nephew comes to this world," answered Li Fei. "You mean you're going back?" she asked. "Yes. I am," she replied.

"Okay." A while later, Xinyi left to let them have a private conversation.

"Did Mom tell you anything about the accident?" he asked carefully. "I know everything," she replied. "Oh. So I should guess that she also told you about Jin Liwei?" he asked. "Yes." "So then tell me, you're getting back with him?" "I haven't thought about it and I don't think I want to think about it now." "I still think you shouldn't go back to him. Jianyu is better." "I can take care of myself Li Jiang I'm not a kid. Many times you actually forget that I'm older than you, not the other way round." "But you're more fragile and naive, compared to me," he defended.

After much insisting from the couple, she slept for the night.

A week later...

Li Fei decided to go back to Shenzhen, since a lot of work was waiting for her.

"Why don't you stay here with me?" Li Mei asked when she saw her ready to leave.

"I can't mother. Jianyu is waiting for me and I promised him that I will be back. Perhaps, I can't just leave Suyin like that."

"I understand. Please keep safe. If you suspect that that woman may be following you then please, let me know."

"I will Mom. Take care of yourself too. I love you."

Reaching Shenzhen, she went to her house and called Jianyu to let him know that she was back. As soon as he got the news, he came back from work that instant.

Hugging her tightly, he said," I missed you so much. Thanks for coming back."

"I promised, didn't I?" she asked when they pulled away. "You did. So tell me, how's everyone?" he asked. "Good. They all sent their greetings," she said. "That is great. Let's go for a date," he suggested. "Today?" she asked. "Yes. Is it not appropriate?" he asked. "Kind of. I'm just tired and I need a little rest," she said.

"I get. Tomorrow then, isn't it?" he asked and she nodded.

The next day, Li Fei decided to report to work however much she was tired.

In the evening as she was still working, she received a message from Jianyu reminding her of their date and she gasped. She had totally forgotten about it.

She got up and started packing her things before heading out.

Reaching outside, she was waiting for a cab when a farmiliar car parked right in front of her. If it were in the past, she would have been raged but things were different now since she found out the truth. She felt her heart pounding in her chest when she saw the door open and he came out. Walking to where she was, he stood right in front of her and said," I missed you."

When he didn't get a reply, he asked," How is your mother doing?" She wasn't even surprised that he knew how she was in Beijing. "Good. Thanks for asking," she replied. "Uh, Li Fei I - " "I know everything. Mom told me," she said.

His eyes subtly widened for he hadn't expected her mother to tell her. "Oh, I'm glad you know everything," he managed to say after so long.

"Jin-Mr Jin Liwei, I want you to know that- "

"Not yet. We cannot discuss such delicate matters here. Let's take this conversation in a private place. What do you think?" he asked.

"I can't do that. I have somewhere else to be," she said.

"Please Li Fei. This will be the last time I will pester you. It will take only an hour," he said.

She thought about it and said," Give me the address." He smiled and said," Thank you so much. I will pick you up from your house." "No thank you. I will bring myself there," she said and he nodded. "I will be waiting from eight at Peach blossoms," he informed her.

When Li Fei got home, Jianyu was eagerly waiting to take her for a date. "Jianyu, I need to tell you something," she said.

"Tell me," he replied. "Uh, I might not be able to come with you." "Why? You ain't feeling well?" he asked. "No. The truth is, Jin Liwei and I have some issues to settle." He nodded disappointedly and said," So youre going with him." "It's not what you think. It's just that, this conversation is really important and necessary. Do you understand?" she asked. Without saying anything else, Jianyu left the house and she sat down at the couch.

At exactly nine, Li Fei reached Peach blossoms and she was welcomed by the hotel manager who led her towards the rooftop. When he reached her to the door, he turned to look at her and said," You can continue from here Ma'am." When she nodded, he left the place. Taking a deep breath, she turned the knob and opened the door and on seeing what was there, she gasped.
