The air shifted around her once again and Annalise felt the similar tendrils of magic making their way along the spell. She pictured the candle transforming into the moonstone, imagining its transformation clearly as she pushed her powers into the imagination.
"It worked."
Her eyes flew open as she heard Valerius' voice and as she turned to look at the candle, she found a glowing moonstone hovering there.
A smile bloomed on her lips in the enjoyment of her success. She hurriedly turned back to look at her husband as she thanked him. "Thank you for teaching me this spell."
Valerius finally pulled his hand away from where he had been holding her hand against his shoulder and brushed his fingers over her temple as he tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. "You are a capable student, I won't mind teaching you at all. It's actually a pleasure to feel your powers against mine."
