Not Human Anymore

Well, it happened again.

My hunger got the best of me again, but this time it was worse. With the rat in the crypt, as much as I couldn't control myself, I still had some of my conscience and sanity. This time, I felt my body get hot, very hot, and then my vision and awareness became hazy. When I regained consciousness, I was lying next to the corpse of a huge deer.

I mean, I think he was big. You kind of can't tell when the corpse is completely dry like a mummy. On the bright side, my hunger had lessened, but I could still feel inside of me the urge to consume more blood. It's like a whisper from a demon, tempting me to consume more and more.

This led me to conclude that this new blood-hungry nature of mine came from Alucard and from the V Rising vampires, as Raizel never really had that kind of problem.

Fortunately, there was a river close by near where I woke up, and now I'm taking a nice shower and cleaning myself of the blood and dirt. The cool running water soothes and clears my mind, allowing me to think better.

What should I do from now on?

I'm not really scared of dying since I'm probably immortal. But I still feel weak even after sucking all the blood out of a deer, and that's not good. Why do you ask? Well, because if I really transmigrated, then I'm most likely in the world of Harry Potter.

I am not concerned with wild animals, but wild magical beasts. And since I'm in a big forest, there's probably a lot of them out there. Luckily I didn't find any.

I finish washing up and I step out of the river - right after that, I sneeze.

Alright, the first thing I need to do is find something to wear! Feeling this icy wind on my sensitive parts is not pleasant at all!

Wait, aren't vampires undead? Can I catch a cold? Eh, I hope not. This is an interesting thing to think about. Even now as a bloodsucking creature of darkness, I feel quite 'human'. Perhaps because of the nature of Noblesse vampires.

Now that I think about it, can't I just create clothes using blood? I'm sure Alucard and Raizel had this ability.

It's worth trying!

Wringing my long silver hair to get out the excess water from it, I close my eyes and begin to concentrate. I imagined myself wearing the hiking clothes that I always wore when I went adventuring in forests and mountains, and I mentally repeated it over and over again to make it real.

To my surprise, I'm actually feeling something! It's like I have butterflies under my skin, only for some reason they can't get out.

Maybe it's too complex for me now? Let's try something simpler like casual summer wear. This time I imagined myself wearing a tank top and short jean shorts.

I waited a few seconds and nothing. Why isn't it working?

I started imagining various outfits, but none of them seemed to work. Then, suddenly, a mental image of an outfit I'd never worn but was oddly familiar popped into my head.

A black Victorian-era gothic dress with blood-red ruffles, black shoes with red trim, and long dark socks that cover half of my thighs.

I don't know where that came from and I've never worn clothes so depressing and chuuni like this before, but it just feels...right, for some reason. Oh, that's right! I kind of described a similar outfit when I wrote Rosalia's appearance on that online Sheet! This is definitely the reason.

I'm sure this will work...Maybe.

With my eyes still closed, I imagine myself wearing the Gothic dress, and this time something really happens! I feel something oozing from the pores of my body - probably blood - and after two seconds the feeling of butterflies inside my body ceases, then I open my eyes.

Voilà! Now I'm wearing clothes! And I must say, I feel really comfortable in them! It's not the ideal outfit to wear in a forest, but hey, it beats being naked.

Come to think of it, I'm curious about one thing. I know I just created clothes using blood, but I don't feel like I can fully use Raizel's or Alucard's powers. I wonder why? It's like they're blocked.

There's something I'm not seeing, but what?

Maybe it's because I just woke up? Hm. I feel like that's not the reason, but I can't think of any other thing.

Well, whatever. Now that I'm clean and dressed, it's time to look for civilization. It's not really a good idea since I'm now a vampire and it's a magical world, but I don't want to live in a forest. My last name is Dracul, not Cullen!

Wait a minute, couldn't the Cullens be considered fairy vampires? They live in a forest, shine glitter in the sun, and have magical powers...

They are definitely half-fairy.

While meditating on the mysteries of the universe, I catch a scream with my super-hearing.

"Damn it! Help! Anybody there?!" The voice belongs to a grown man, and he sounds like he's in pain or in some danger.

Oho? Ohoho?! Is this the legendary isekai cliché I've read so much about?!

Grinning from ear to ear, I gather strength and start running towards the man's voice. But... I kind of forgot one small detail.

Now I also have super speed.

Before I realized it, in a second I was tens of meters away from the river and I see my face an inch from a large pine tree.

"Goddammit!"

BANG!

My body collides with the large pine tree and I fall backwards to the ground. I meditate for a few seconds on what just happened and get up.

Part of the pine bark was completely destroyed as if a small bomb had exploded there. Thank god I have super endurance because I didn't feel anything.

Let's be more careful from now on, shall we?

__________

I ran for almost a minute, and I've probably already run at least five or six kilometers. It amazes me how fast I can run now, and how far my hearing can pick up voices.

I can already hear the dude crying a few meters ahead, and so I stop and slowly approach. No, I'm not being shy, I just don't want to scare him, after all, it's not every day that you see a girl in a Gothic dress in the middle of a forest.

When I get close enough, I see him.

Lying on the ground, with the bone in his right leg sticking out and soaking his pants in blood, he is a white man who appears to be in his early thirties. He is dressed in tacky hunter clothes and has a rifle in his lap.

However, the moment I see him and his condition, I feel my body vibrate, my fangs heat up wildly and my vision narrows with his leg in focus, more precisely, in the blood that flowed from his wound.

Not only that but there's also a sweet, intoxicating scent in the air. Almost mesmerizing.

This...I can't control myself...

I start walking slowly towards him, my eyes glazed over his blood. Coming closer, it seems he finally notices me.

"Oh, thank God someone heard me! Please call the ambulance! I-I tripped badly and as you can see, I have a compound fracture in my leg and it won't stop bleeding!" The man says quickly, pleading for my help. But I ignore him and I remain silent, still walking towards him slowly.

I don't think he's going to survive until rescue come. He's already lost a lot of blood.

[He won't survive. Wouldn't you rather end this poor animal's suffering?]

Yeah. What can I do for him?

"Miss? Are you listening to me?"

[Don't you already know the answer? Make him become part of you. A quick, merciful, and honorable death, becoming part of something greater! Besides... It would be rude to waste food, wouldn't it?]

"Erm...Miss? Is everything alright? You look deathly pale and...a little scary."

...You are right.

Now next to the man lying down, I kneel down, and upon seeing my ruby scarlet eyes, fear begins to show on his face. It seems he's realized that I'm not exactly human.

"Don't worry, it'll be quick...I promise." I said softly, trying to calm the poor human down, but he looked even more scared.

I slowly stroke his hair and bring his throat close to my mouth.

"Wait, what are you doing?! What are you doing!! HELP! SOMEBODY HELP ME, PLEASE! GOD!!"

For some reason I found it funny to see him crying out to God; I'll give him one last mercy by telling him the truth. "God spares no salvation to those who would beg for it. Nor is he merciful to those who would beseech his benevolence. These petty requests are no invocation to god. They are your death."

I opened my mouth, and the man's eyes cringed at the sight of my fangs.

Then, I bite him.

His blood, sweeter than the purest nectar, flowed down my throat. I feasted as I felt his life and soul being sucked out by me as he thrashed and screamed, and I liked it. I liked it very much.

Ahhh...Now I get it.

I still feel like a human, but I'm not one anymore.

I am something far beyond that.

And I'm going to have to get used to this fact from now on.
