Jevera watched Jael stare at the human girl and her heart squeezed, in all the years they have been intimate he had never looked at her like that, not once, not even when he had his fangs buried in her and more.
It was hard to concentrate on her food. The puny thing had her head down and some color to her cheeks. Why was he staring at her like that? She just embarrassed herself and interrupted everyone's meal like some child. She should be made to stand in the corner.
"Jael," she heard herself say. She couldn't bear to watch this one more second.
He turned to look at her as she had hoped but his expression was back to normal. His brows slightly dipped in a perpetual state of annoyance, his lips a thin line, and his eyes stared condescendingly at her. This was the look she was used to, this was the one she knew.
