643. Romantic?
Mauve woke up before the sun had set, finding Jael still asleep. Thankfully, there was still enough light to watch his face, the candlelight wasn't dead yet. She doubted he would appreciate that, but she knew she would stare at him regardless.
She would be lying if she said she didn't miss his face. Jael was indeed handsome, and aside from his hair and body, his face was definitely one of her favorite things about his appearance. Mauve shook her head, unable to believe she was thinking about his body when he was in this state.
She still hadn't seen the extent of the damage from the Paler attack and wanted to ask, but she didn't want to make him uncomfortable. She could always ask him to show her later.
"I can't pretend I'm sleeping if you keep staring at me like that," he said, and Mauve found herself staring right into his blue eyes.
She jumped back. "If you're awake, say so," she scolded.
