616. Not a Harmless Banter
Mauve didn't leave the library until it was almost time for the second meal, and Jael came to get her. He didn't look very pleased when he saw Louis seated next to her.
The books had been cleared away a long time ago, and they had just spent the rest of the hours talking about random things. Mauve had read a book at some point, and Louis did too. He offered some recommendations, and she gladly welcomed them. As always, his company was always appreciated.
"Jael," she cried as she got to her feet. She rushed to him and hugged him, unable to hold back her happiness.
"Someone is in a good mood," he commented and leaned backward so he could look at her face. "Did something happen?"
Mauve didn't miss the glare he shot at Louis. "What?" She asked, feigning a look of horror. "Are you saying I can't be happy to see you?"
"I didn't say that," he replied and bent his head to kiss her lips. He held her around the waist as he deepened the kiss.
