The first meal ended pretty well. She ate to her heart's content, enjoying the conversation that went around.

It was nice to be around people again, instead of constantly being cooped up in the room. It was like she was cursed or something.

The first meal ended faster than she would have wanted and she was walking out of the dining arm in arm with Jael.

"Where are you headed?" He asked.

She didn't miss the look on his face. She could tell that if she gave him an answer he didn't like very much, he would refuse.

"The library," she started, when he didn't react, she added, "The garden too."

He pulled his elbow a bit closer to himself, squeezing her arm a little but not enough to be uncomfortable. He didn't like this.

"Why the garden?" He asked. "Mack takes care of it and I am sure he does a pretty good job."

"It's my garden," she whispered. "And I haven't seen it in almost two weeks at this point."
