Jael stood to his feet at the end of the meeting. His sudden movement caused the chair to tumble backward but Damon caught it in time and moved it out of the way to give him enough room.
"I hope you understand your role in this and I expect your support for the future of the vampires and our fight against the Palers, a war that has gone on for far too long. This time I will do my very best to make sure we rise on top." Jael's eyes scanned the table as spoke.
Most of the Lords had scowls on their faces but they had been most agreeable after his outburst and he had been able to get the message across appropriately.
Unfortunately, it also ruined their enthusiasm and not all of them were willing to offer a significant amount of guards to join the special unit.
This was annoying as he would have to rely on most of the guards at the castle. Lord Garth and Lord Levaton were quite generous.
