169. Removal
Jael softly touched Mauve as she lay on the bed. It wasn't his fault he misunderstood the situation. She really looked like the physician was going to stab her in the neck.
It didn't help that the moment he walked into the room the first thing he could pick up was her fear and with just one look at her face he could tell just how anxious she was.
She was looking up at him with wide eyes, trying to convince him to stay. As much as he would like to stay with her for the process, he doubted the physician would be able to do anything with him here. To avoid that stab in the neck, it would be best if he left.
He found it odd that the physician had still not adjusted to his presence. Maybe that wasn't odd at all. He turned to look at Jean who was now standing upright and looking stiff as a board.
