The moon looked bright as Mauve stood beside the huge rock but it didn't make any significant difference to her eyesight. Aside from the trees directly in front of her, she could really see anything.

She was beside the rock for only a couple of seconds but somehow it felt like minutes. She wanted to crunch low but she was worried about ants or worse. Considering she couldn't rely on her eyesight, it will be in her best interest not to move around.

She shook her head pushing away the thoughts of things crawling up her. The worst thing she could do right now was make her position known. Jael hid her to keep her safe, she had to make sure she didn't make any sound that would draw any sort of attention to her.

She heard a loud noise and jerked in fright. Were they already fighting the paler? She leaned forward, poking her head out but she couldn't see past the trees directly in front of her.
