Chapter 39: Photography

Logan moved the intricate tapestry out of the way and opened the door, pulling Gwen inside of the darkroom. Her eyes took a moment to adjust to the room, taking in the strings that draped from the ceiling with photos clipped to it.

Containers and bottles of chemicals sat in cabinets and on banquet tables. Red light bulbs casted a ghastly crimson glow within the room, making it take a bit longer for her eyes to adjust to it.

“Welcome to my hobby,” Logan shrugged with his hands in his pockets. “This is my darkroom where I develop film.”

Gwen peered at all of the photos of landscapes, people, and animals. Her mouth dropped open at how well-done they were. Each one seemed to be professionally done to the point she wondered how long he had been perfecting his trade.

Her heart pounded in her chest as she went to reach up and touch one of the drying photos before thinking better of it. She didn’t want to mess up the photograph that he had taken.
