Chapter 1

Despite the freezing cold of the night, a young woman with wavy blond hair and green eyes was struggling through the storm. Clad in Scarf and a woolen brown robe, she didn't look dressed at all for the weather. She didn't even have boots, but was instead wearing just a pair of flimsy sandals.

With the cold rain pelting down around her, the young woman continued her journey through the storm. Not even an inch of her was dry, and her clothes were sticking to her body, exposing the outlines of her thin form underneath. She could barely keep her eyes open due to the howling wind and slashing rain, and yet some unknown pull seemed to beckon her ever onward, towards a dark and forboding forest that loomed eerily in the distance.

She moved closer to the dark forest, she felt a cold shiver run down her spine, as though the trees themselves were warning her away. It was only the flash of lightning that would reveal glimpses of the shadowed trunks before the forest was plunged back into darkness. Despite this, there was something about the forest that continued to draw her closer, and before she knew it, she found herself deep within its tangled confines.

She stopped in front of the corpse of a frightening old woman. The girl froze in her place.

As she stared at the body, her eyes widened when She heard a girl's voice behind her "Hey..What are you doing here?" It was the voice of a girl.

Riona's body flinched and she turned back, her eyes widening when she spotted a shadow standing behind her. This shadow began to resemble the body of a young girl who seemed to be about the same height as her. "Ahh.." She breathed hard, then she remembered the old woman's body next to her, so she pointed to the dead old woman while opening her trembling lips.

"Excuse me...here...Here is a dead old woman!" She was a little hesitant while talking to the girl, as those red eyes caused her legs to tremble slightly.

The girl tilted her head slightly, "Eh..i don't see anything" She said.

Riona turned her head...the dead old woman wasn't there!. Riona was a bit shocked. She was sure she wasn't imagining it!

"You were imagining...anyway...my name is Helen, nice to meet you." Then She continued "Follow me..you look tired.."

Riona didn't want to go with helen, but she was afraid, so she followed her against her will.

Among the trees of the forest, a faint light appeared in the distance, with every step another part appeared until a small oak hut was formed.

A one-story hut, two misty windows on the side, only the door is illuminated by the small light of the lantern. The high tree branches lined up with the strong wind, creating a darker and more terrifying atmosphere.

"What is this?." Riona said confused, Her jade green eyes looked at the hut Nervously.

"My sweet hut!." Helen said as a smile formed on her lips, showing her fangs. Riona could see that and felt terrible because she was with a vampire! Helen might kill her! But running away now was a good idea, so she decided to act as if she had not seen anything for now.

Riona smiled back nervously, "Ahh.." She didn't know what to say, Suddenly, Helen grabbed Riona's hand and pulled her into the hut.

"Umm...don't touch my hand like that...it hurts." Riona said with a slight frown. Helen's smile widened even more and she let go of Riona's hand.

"Sorry, I was excited about-." A certain sound and a strange aura appeared near Helen's hut... Helen felt terrified. She knew that whoever was there was a vampire... not just a vampire, but a very powerful vampire, and all Helen was thinking about at the moment was that no one would steal her prey.

"Wait a minute..Stay here, Riona."Helen came out of the hut searching for what she felt. Meanwhile, Riona did not stand idly by, but rather took the lantern and whispered to herself sarcastically, "Sorry, but I'll borrow this.".

Riona left the hut quietly, looking right and left, then ran into the depths of the forest. She was very stubborn and wanted to return to the body of the dead old woman.

Riona was afraid that Helen would appear again, but she decided to just run. Tears were streaming from her innocent eyes while the rain was still falling.

"Where..Where." Those words were stuck in her head. She wanted to prove that she wasn't imagining the corpse.

Under the rainy sky, a dim light flashed on the horizon. What is that, are they lamps, dim lighting? With each step the blurry picture pumps in, it was like a wooden house, or maybe a hut.

Who would have believed the prospect of encountering a home in such a difficult environment, at perfect time.

Her body staggered and her feet climbed the stairs, the wood from under her robe didn't emit any sign of discomfort as a creak, suggesting that this house looked good.

She tilted her head as she took shelter from the raindrops and looked at the door.

Should she knock on the door, or is this too much? She asks as she waits for time to knock on the door, and time passes until she finally decides to knock on the door.

She raised her fragile fingers and carefully knocked on the hard wood... Knock... Knock... Knock.

After continuous methods she did not get any response. Her eyebrows wrinkled and She felt a headache, why don't the owners of the house respond to her knocking?.

She stopped looking at the door and headed towards the window, the glass was damp and full of raindrops, but that didn't stop her from trying to catch any chance.

She wiped the glass with the sleeve of her wrist, then slowly approached and looked inside.

The place was kind of empty, There are still traces of someone here, well as long as there are outdoor lights lighting up the house, then there must be at least someone living here.

Or that this house is haunted, Riona shook her head and banished the last possibility from her mind. She went back to the door and knocked hard this time. "Excuse me!"

She raised her voice while knocking on the door seriously, she was wet after knocking hard, again she didn't get any response.

Her lips twisted into a frown, then she grabbed the doorknob and turned it..The door opened.."Huh?" Riona paused as she processed what happened, how could this happen.

Did she really break the lock on the door or was it not locked? The strong wind pushed the door slightly, and her eyes peeked in.

The place was almost empty as she saw it from the window, but why were there so many luggage and furniture, if there was no one there?.

She tightened her grip on the door handle, then entered. "excuse me...is anyone here?" Riona closed the door behind her despite feeling uncomfortable.

If it weren't for the storm raging behind her, she wouldn't have closed the door at all. "Ahh…" A deep sigh escaped her lips, then she looked around.

Riona cautiously entered the house, feeling as if she was being watched. As her eyes scanned the room, she was drawn to a table in front of her, upon which sat a bottle of wine and a book.

Riona approached the table, She grabbed the book curiously, The title of the book was "Wilting Flower." Riona is illiterate so she tilted her head, and then returned it. She looked at The candles sitting upon the table cast a warm, flickering glow over the tabletop, their soft light bathing the surface in a soft, soothing light.

The shadows danced across the surface as the flames flickered and wavered, giving the area a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. The light from the candles caught the jade green hue of Riona's eyes, making them seem almost to glow in the soft light.

The shadows cast by the flames danced across her face, casting deep shadows in the dips of her cheeks and leaving the higher points in stark relief.

Riona continued to walk around the house, starting from the living room to the kitchen and the rest of the corners. "There's no one…" Riona whispered in a low voice as she stopped walking.

It was strange to find a house, to say the least, equipped with everything, in an almost empty and very remote environment. Riona narrowed her eyes and turned towards a closed door. This was the only facility she had not checked yet.

She made up her mind and went to the door and knocked on it. "Hello...is anyone here?" It may be embarrassing to ask someone if they are at their home, especially if you are a stranger breaking into their home.

Riona was prepared for any response that might be hurtful or loud, but in return she did not get any response. She blinked her eyes for a moment, then repeated the knocks on the door, and when she did not find a response, she opened the door gently.

The closed room was very dark and quiet. Riona pointed her lantern inside and made her way. "It's a bedroom." That's what she said when she realized it was an empty bedroom.

She slowly walked towards the bed and checked, but before that she put the lantern on the small table next to the bed, then lifted the cover. "Very clean...".

"Of course." Riona's hands stiffened and her body trembled, the low, cold voice was right next to her ear suddenly.
