CHAPTER 42 I'm Going to Kill Him

"I know what it is like to lose someone," Terri said softly as she walked up to Magnus, who was sitting at his desk. He was trying to work, but Terri could see that he was having a hard time holding back the tears.

"You know nothing. You can't possibly understand," Magnus snapped. "Who said you could speak to me like that?"

Terri scoffed, causing Magnus to look up at her. He was surprised by the concern and hint of anger on her face. She stomped forward and slammed her hands on the desk.

"You forget that I am human. I lost my entire family. I watched them get killed right in front of me. So, don't you tell me what I understand and don't understand, my lord." Terri stated firmly.

She walked around to him and placed her hands on the sides of his face. His look of anguish pulled at her heart. Terri couldn't help but be jealous that he cared so much for Beatrice, but she was relieved that he didn't care enough to give up his life for her.
