1.7 : BLUR.

The future heir to the throne of the demon realm, she said? So, just as a glossary, in less than a span of 24 hours, I went from having a bland life to suddenly meeting the candidate for the demon queen? I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of stuff. Besides, why me? At this point, I've just given up on finding meaning behind this stuff.

I did feel a rift in the atmosphere when I entered this area and now, after looking at our surroundings and how the flow of time has tampered, I was certain that this was all her doing. Dark Magic, Alchemy, or whatever was the source of the power, I just couldn't bother to understand anymore. The more I focused on these small details, the more I'd move away from seeing the big picture.

"What you're witnessing is a time hyperloop."; A hyperloop she says. Hyperloop normally referred to a high-speed network of varying magnitude with respect to the field it was implemented. I don't understand why that term is implied here. "The rift in the atmosphere that you witnessed, it's because of the dome we are in. This is called the time dome."

"So basically, in this time dome, we are in a hyperloop of time, that is, we are moving at a faster rate than the outer world? In other words, since we're transferring information at a faster rate than the world can move in, you refer this to a hyperloop? Is that how it works."; I think I got the gist of it if it were that simple.

"I won't say that you're completely off but you got the basics of it. Since you like to think through stuff, let me ask you this. Is the time within this space moving slower than the outer world or is it that we're moving at a faster pace than the normal world which is moving at a normal pace?"; she asked me.

I was taken aback when I was looking at her. The way her soft white skin glistened, complimented by the one-piece white skirt supported by the denim jacket she had donned. The wind that was gently breezing even in this eerie weather fluttered her blonde hair. That spectacle just kept me wanting for me that I just stood there for a while.

Noticing that I wasn't responding to her, she looked at me; "What is it? Is there something on my face?". I immediately regained my composure and just chose my words carefully; "No, it's just, for one moment, you radiate the aura of an ice queen who doesn't bother around what happens around her, and then the next moment, you just break down and show a side that I think hardly anyone has seen, that it's hard not to look at you and see the real you."

I had uttered something that had made her suspicious of me, I guess. The silence within the air surrounding us was awkward. She let out a deep sigh. "And here, I was waiting for an answer. Do boys always have to act so cheeky?". Cheeky? I was just being honest. To be frank, the pacing of this whole conversation is way too weird. Don't you agree? We were having a logical conversation and an emotional conversation, two of which have no correlation to each other, at the same time.

"As for what you've asked, I'm completely clueless. I would like to sound smart and say that it depends on the wielder who possesses the ability to do so, but at the same time, I don't think it's that simple."

"Hmm...Ok. Well, I'll tell you how it works but not now. I have to go back now. I just took an excuse for 2 minutes, and time's almost up. We'll do it back at your apartment."; My apartment? How does she know that? Then that means...

"Excuse me, before you leave, can I ask you something?"; noticing my sudden response, she just nodded, and replied, "Make it fast."

"Were you the one that escorted me back to my place?"

She didn't react in any way, she just moved her head and said, "Yes."

"Then were you the one who..."; before I could finish what I had intended to ask her, she placed her finger on my lips, and then placed a finger on her lip, indicating that I shouldn't dig any deeper.

"I'll meet you around midnight. Don't bail out on me. And if you try to do anything suspicious, just know that this time, I will put you to sleep, for eternity.", with that, she gently smiled and left the place. The dome started to fade away, and the atmosphere that I was used to was returning...

"Wait, why was I here again?", Didn't someone send me this letter telling me that they wanted to have a conversation with me? Then, where was the owner of this letter? Plus, my mouth feels dry. I don't know why? Have I been talking to someone? I don't understand.

I returned back from the staircase and saw that there was no human activity around this section. I moved around aimlessly and thought I'd bump into Marcus, but to my surprise, he hadn't shown up to college today. With nowhere to go, I just went back to class and finished attending the remaining lectures.

Even though it was boring, strangely enough, I felt a lot tired than usual. I went back home, took my supply of medicines, and crashed hard on the bed.

"My head doesn't hurt today", I reminded myself. That wasn't bad. Before I knew it, the drowsiness started to kick in. "Guess, I'll just pass out..."

I heard the knocking on the door. I looked outside and it was already dark. "A visitor, now?", I didn't know what to expect, so I waited to see if they had mistaken my flat for someone else's since I barely had any visitors. There was a knock again. Normally, I would have been cautious but for some reason, I just didn't hesitate and opened the door.

YOU'RE LATE!
