After hearing the dismissive voice of the soldier, Ivan let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, a wave of relief washing over him. His heart was still pounding, the adrenaline from almost being caught coursing through his veins. Had he been caught, he was fully prepared to take drastic measures, thankfully it didn't come to that.
His mind raced, trying to piece together what had just happened. He couldn't shake the feeling that something had changed within him, something he didn't yet understand.
After relaxing a bit, his face turned serious. 'They just ignored me like that. Isn't that a bit irresponsible?' he thought. The soldiers had just heard a sound coming from an area that could signify a potential survivor, but they just waved it off so casually.
