CHAPTER 34

SHRANAIA’S POV

Whatever happens, I will do what has to be done and return. I stood up, and I didn’t care whether my opponents saw me. I’m skilled in other areas, and even if I don’t transform into a wolf, I can fight them. I know how to fight in this form, even if I don’t know how to fight as a wolf. Yet, I am certain that the end result will be bad.

I rushed at the soldiers and knocked them down with ease and without making a sound. I took a glance around before running toward where they had taken their hostage earlier. When I walked in, I was astounded to find them imprisoned like birds with no freedom.

I can’t stop crying, and I can’t help but feel sad for them right now. Several times, I feel as if I’m being crushed, and I’m afraid I’m going to sink where I’m standing due to the anguish in my chest. I’m like a blazing candle, and I’m going to burn out.

“Shranaia?” I turned to face the person who had called my name, and when I saw who it was, I approached her and hugged her even though there was a barrier between us.

“Kyla,” I said, mentioning her name.

“I know you, and you are still alive,” she said, and the weakness in her voice was obvious.

“Shhh... I know what happened and I know they didn’t treat you all well. I will save you,” I whispered.

I saw how her eyes filled with tears and how miserable she was. I held her hand, then I looked for something to do to get rid of them. I can’t say that the cage isn’t sturdy, but I know it’s not cheap either. I looked at the chain, and I looked for the key, but I was stopped when suddenly someone came.

“There is an enemy!” he suddenly shouted, causing everyone to suddenly worry.

I immediately took action, then I fought them even though I was alone. I looked up, and I jumped into each cage. When I reached the top, they followed me, and I knew they weren’t just jumping into it. When I reached the ceiling, I looked to see how strong the iron cage was hanging, then I quickly got away from the one who would attack me.

“Got you,” I whispered.

A cage was removed, and it fell to the ground. Then I looked at the others that were hanging. I repeated what I did and looked at the enemies rushing towards me. I don’t know if they read what I was doing or if they were just smart because they were able to open every cage with which I argued.

“It’s just a little difficult,” I said, then I rushed to a man then punched him in the face.

It didn't even get up when I did that. I merely smiled since what I did was not very strong, but it instantly sank. I leaped down and stared at Kyla after hastily dodging. I asked whether she was all right, and she nodded. I showed her what I had before letting her leave.

“Get out of here,” I replied, then looked around to see whether Faustino had come.

“But how about you?” she asked me.

“You don’t have to worry about me, Kyla. What is important to me is that you are probably safe and far from here,” I answered her.

She hugged me before he ran away. When I felt someone coming, I didn’t leave where I was, and when Faustino and Fergus saw what was happening. They looked at me, then I grinned at them and showed that I was proud of what I did.

“Ohh... we have a visitor?” he said with a raised eyebrow.

“Surprise?”

“Does Vixen know that his lover is here?” said Faustino.

“Why should I tell him where I’m going?” I said sarcastically.

“Aren’t he guarding you too tightly? You seem to have escaped?”

“I don’t care what you two have. What’s important to me is to get revenge on you for what you did to my family,” I answered.

“You really don’t know the reason for everything, Shranaia?” he said to me and his face was serious.

“Whatever the reason is, I don’t care,” I replied.

I was about to attack Faustino when Fergus suddenly interrupted. He immediately thwarted my attack, and at that point, I instead attacked him. I grabbed my right arm because of what happened—the force of my hitting the wall almost broke it because of the force of the impact that happened.

“It won’t be easy for you to do what you want to do, Shranaia,” he said, then I grinned at him.

“What I know is that you want to kill me because of the strength I have when you prolong my life, right?”

They were both silent at what I said, and I grinned because I knew that what they wanted to do would not be easy for them either. We both looked at the sudden arrival of the red vampires, and my eyes widened when Deacon was here.

“Fuck shit!” I said, annoyed, then I quickly left.

I don’t know how they followed me here, and it’s just annoying that they did. I unexpectedly slid as a wolf appeared in front of me, and I unexpectedly scented something that gave me weird power. I sought the source and even turned around. It's not going to end well if I lose control of myself.

“Is there someone here?” I said. I went in search of the source of the scent, and when I found it, I approached it right away. But I wasn’t expecting what I saw. “Why is there a baby here?” I pondered, looking around.

I’m not sure what to do or how to hide the child, but the strong fragrance of it in my nose indicates that the flesh you got is fresh and tasty. I took a deep breath after closing my eyes. My breathing is also increasing, as I can feel the growth of my fangs.

“I can’t,” I told myself.

I took up the child and sought a place to put him just in time for the dress I was wearing to become too long, so I tore a piece of cloth to use as a wrap. When I turned around, I noticed a shadow. She is not from here, and I think this child is hers. This boy can’t go to this place, especially because the only creatures present are werewolves and vampires.

I followed whoever was inside the forest. The baby’s cry echoes all around, and I feel the approaching enemies. I have to find a way to calm the baby down and hide his smell because otherwise, he will just become food for the vampires and werewolves here.

“Who mother would abandon her child in the middle of a deluge? Ridiculous!” I grumbled, looking at the boy. “Whatever your mother is, I hope she falls into one of these traps, so she feels as if no one is helping her,” I grumbled.

As I was anxious because the vampires were chasing me, the boy did nothing but cry. I can’t do what I need to do if there are unwanted intruders and beasts.

“SHRANAIA!” I turned around because someone was shouting my name.

“There’s another annoying beast,” I said quietly as I continued jumping.

I sensed an energy while hunting for the woman who abandoned the baby. I know she’s here, and if I’m not mistaken, she’s the young man Vixen mentioned to me. I don’t know why I keep forgetting that girl’s name, but I simply want to know who she is and who I am. Are we the same, or am I thinking inaccurately?

I stopped when the woman stopped in front of me, and then she looked at me. There is blood on her hand and thigh, as well as in her clothes. I covered my nose because I was getting more and more strange sensations from the blood flowing through her. Her tears were falling, and I could feel the fear in her body.

“I didn’t mean to... I didn’t know what to do. I just want to go home,” she said, begging. “I’m begging you. I’ll forget that I got here. I’ll forget this happened. Please,” she said, begging, then I looked at the child I was holding.

“How did you get in here? Who brought you here?” I asked, then she looked around.

“I don’t know, I don’t know,” she answered.

“Take your child.”

She looked at the child I was holding, then quickly approached to take her baby. “Thank you very much,” she said, then I nodded.

“Leave while it’s still early. If not, maybe something happened to you here,” I said, then she nodded at me.

When they left, I ran in another direction. I could hear the noisy environment and just ignored it. I went to the Valley Pack because that’s where they needed my help the most. I know they are having a hard time, and I know that during the time I was gone, they suffered at the hands of the Mystic Pack.

When I got back to the Valley Pack, I didn’t expect Fergus and Faustino to be there. I just grimaced and immediately rushed towards them, but I looked up when I saw the soldiers. I extended my hand, then scratched them with my long nails, which caused one of them to fall.

“Your welcome to me is too warm,” I said indifferently.

“Do what needs to be done to that woman,” said Fergus, and even though I was alone and there were many enemies, I did my best to fight them.

In truth, I feel like I will run out of energy because of what is happening, and I will feel weak. My anger towards them grows even more, which causes me to pour out all the strength I have. The more I see the people of Valley Pack struggling, the more I feel sorry for their situation.

“If you’re only targeting me, why do you still have to torture them like this?” I ask.

I can see both of their serious expressions as I fight. To be honest, I couldn’t see anything in their eyes or read anything from them. I despise the fact that I’m weak at teasing, yet I’m just strong enough to tease. "Because they were traitors who kept the truth from us!” Fergus said.

My eyes widened because of the attack on me, and I didn’t know how to get away. I just closed my eyes tightly, and I just felt someone holding my waist. When I opened my eyes, I immediately saw Vixen’s serious face. One of his hands was on the opponent's face, and in an instant, it died without even bothering him.

What was happening stunned me and rendered me dumbfounded. “Shranaia,” I turned to the person who spoke, and then I noticed that Rara, Gena, Ron, and Ran were also here.

“What are you doing here?” I questioned, slightly pushing Vixen.

“You make too many decisions in your life, and you just don't think there are people who care about you,” Rara remarked solemnly, and I avoided looking at her.

Rara’s rage at me is palpable, and I understand why. “If you don’t know anything, don’t bother,” I said, then kicked the monster who was about to rush at us.

It spluttered as a result of what I did, and I felt increased vigor as a result of what transpired. As I heard a baby cry, I turned around and saw a mother carrying a child. Deacon appeared from behind her, bringing a sword to her side. I’m at a loss for what to do, and I’m going insane trying to figure out how to fight them.

“T-help…” she whispered, but I heard it.

“I don’t care what conflict you have, but Shranaia is mine,” said Deacon with an angry face.

“Why is there a mortal here?” Gena asked.

I gazed at Deacon evilly, unable to contain myself because of what was happening now, as well as the stench of blood all around me. The smell of blood is stronger, which provides me with a significant advantage. I rushed at Deacon, and he didn't move fast enough, which is why he fled into the trees.

I quickly approached the woman who was holding her child. I lost my mind even more as I smelled its sweet blood. Even though it was tough, I was able to control myself.

“Run,” I said quietly, prompting her to take action.
