Austin's Job Class [Part 1]

"Pffft… Pffft." Yan'er tried to hold it in, but "HAHAHAHAHA, what a shitty body. Even a newborn has better stats than yours."

Austin wanted to retort, but he found no words.

Where were his cheats?

Where was his Divine talent?

Where was his all-elemental body?

Why doesn't he have maxed-out stats?

Shouldn't he be like those reincarnated protagonists, with overpowered cheats, overpowered talent, overpowered body constitution, and overpowered system?

He knew he should be grateful for being given a new life, but he felt his hopes, which were previously at an all-time high, came crashing down.

And Yan'ers laughter wasn't helping no matter how angelic it sounded.

"You shouldn't worry too much, a person's starting stats do not determine an individual's success in life. Stats can always increase. Hard work and determination are what matters the most." Yan'er comforted after noticing Austin's depressed mood.

That's right… So what if he has a lesser starting point?

He doesn't need cheats either.

All he needs is a working body, a body that can move and he will make up the difference.

So what if those heavenly geniuses have God-given talent?

Don't they always get surpassed?

"Yan'er why is my… what I presume to be my middle name and last name sealed? Also… why do I have two races… am I a hybrid?" Austin asked after calming down. Initially, he wanted to ask why his middle name and last name were sealed as well as his race, but his stats were too absurdly low.

"I am not too sure, as you may have already guessed, I am the 'System spirit' and certain restrictions have been placed on me. It seems whoever made the System did not want you or either me to know of your true identity." Yan'er said before continuing hesitantly "However, maybe certain requirements need to be met? After all, for me and the System to be unsealed we needed your soul to be on the verge of collapse before we were unsealed, allowing me to bring you here."

"... It seems I, no… We can only wait." Austin would be lying if he said he didn't want to know about his origins; however, he wanted to focus on one thing at a time. Without strength, he would never be able to get the answers to his questions…

Who were his parents?

Why was he abandoned on Earth?

Were they the ones who sponsored his previous life?

Did they create the System? If not, who did? For what purpose was it created?

Why have his parents never come to see him?

As for what race he and his parents were, he didn't care.

"That's a good mindset to have." Yan'er was impressed.

"Yan'er, does this space last forever?" Austin asked as he looked around and for some reason he didn't feel his head about to split from pain.

"Essentially, yes; however, once you exit the independent space this dimension will collapse, ceasing to exist." Yan'er could tell from looking around, it was an extremely rare one time use dimensional artifact.

"Then how do I leave? I don't want to stay here forever."

"To leave this dimensional space, it is quite easy, but before that, you need to pick a Job Class."

"Ah… that's right! I almost forgot my status shows I have no Job Class." Austin said before once again growing in excitement and anticipation. A Job Class can change everything.

"In Atlas, the world you will be sent to, Job Classes are common among every inhabitant of the world. Once a resident of the world turns fifteen they would use a Job Class Awakening Stone to awaken their Job Class. Though awakened Job Classes are not permanent and can be changed or upgraded, they do create a foundation for every individual on the planet." Yan'er explained seriously because she knew just how much Job Classes can affect someone's life.

"Does awakening a good Job Class depend on luck?" Austin asked. He hoped not otherwise…

"Fortunately, not entirely!" Yan'er wanted to tease him by saying it was, but decided against it.

"Job Class awakening is quite special. There are several determining factors that affect what Job Class a person receives. In Atlas, everyone is born with mana and affinity towards at least one element. The magical elements are Fire, Earth, Wind, Water, Light, and Dark. The magical element or elements you are born with is a major factor. Lesser, but equally important factors that can change the outcome of the Job Class you obtain are personality, the way you lived your life for fifteen years, and your dreams and ambitions."

"So how do I awaken a Job Class?" Austin inquired. The explanation was quite thorough, luck was a determining factor when obtaining a Job Class; however, it wasn't the only factor. The first fifteen years of someone's life is a major factor that could potentially outweigh even luck.

"Usually, a Job Class Awakening Stone would be needed; however, the System has another method available for you to use."

I wonder what Job Class he will choose :)
