THE COATY DISEASE

"And that's how the coat was locked inside the glass box here" Wilson finished his narration showing Chloe and Cherry the picture of it from a book.

"Wait dumb head, you want me to believe all you have just said. Please...give me a break, I ain't believing any of that genius Wilson" Cherry said with her tiny and bossy voice.

"Don't you dare insult me" Wilson retorted.

"Oh, what will you do" Cherry challenged him.

"Just because dad and mom are on your side, doesn't mean you can get away with everything you do," Wilson said completely annoyed.

"Of course I can there is nothing you can do to me" Cherry replied confidently.

"Wilson, are you fighting with Cherry again? Kids you are going to be late for school" Mrs Lawson shouted coming out of her room.

"No mum, just a second," Chloe said.

Meanwhile, Wilson and Cherry were still exchanging words. It has always been like that as Cherry was always annoying Wilson and stepping on his toes.

"Stop it guys, the fact is that it's just a made-up story to scare people," Chloe said wearing her backpack that was on the table where they were standing.

"I told you" Cherry supported her sister.

"But it said to be true according to what is written here" Wilson answered pointing at the book not ready to give up the argument.

"Fine blockhead, if it's true as you claim it is, why was Priest Lucan able to put the coat in the box, when it's called the untouchable coat" Cherry cleverly said.

"Yeah tell us smarty pants" Chloe added.

"I don't know, but he died a few weeks after that incident," Wilson said.

"That doesn't answer my question" Cherry replied.

"I don't know maybe he didn't have to touch the coat to put it inside the box, I guess," Wilson said rather confused.

"Is that humanly possible for you?" Chloe asked.

"See, you guys can continue arguing for all I care, I'm out of here," Cherry said carrying her school bag and leaving them there.

"Kids car now!!!" Mr. Lawson shouted.

"Thanks for wasting my time," Chloe said leaving him there trying to ascertain a reasonable explanation.

Mr. Jack Lawson is a businessman who works in one of the top companies in the city of Willsvill. While Mrs. Juliet Lawson owned a supermarket and also works as a manager in a cloth factory.

Chloe the first child of the family, is a high schooler and has a devil-may-care attitude. She was gorgeous and a lot of people admire her. She was sassy, a baddy, and a bold girl.

Unlike Wilson the second child, a middle schooler who was dauntless, adventurous, and courageous. He loves exploring new possibilities and uncovering mysteries. He loved reading books and that made him a bright student.

Last but not least, Cherry the third and last child was in her world. She talks a lot, acts bossy, and is sometimes rude. She was in elementary school and doesn't give a damn about age which made her a little scary but adorable.

The Lawson family was a lovable one, despite having different personalities which made them a unique and wonderful family.

"Class today we'll be talking about the coaty disease," Mrs. Jane their history teacher said.

"The coaty again?" Hareton said out loud.

"Mr Hareton, I won't tolerate that" Mrs Jane warned.

"Sorry Ma but we don't want to hear what we've been told countless times. " Hareton replied and Wilson supported with a "yeah".

"That's why you should listen before saying anything," she said and they nodded.

"The county disease is a very strange illness with its source from the strange coat called the untouchable coat" she briefly explained and Wilson, Hareton, Jude, and June looked at themselves.

"This disease doesn't kill quickly but gradually, destroying all the vital organs in the body until the person eventually becomes formless and dies. But according to history, there is a man still leaving with the disease but no one knows where he is kept" she explained further.

"How is that even possible when the last coaty disease happened in the 19th century" Wilson interrupted.

"Yes, that's true, even Priest Lucan couldn't survive it" June added and there was grumbling from every corner of the class.

"Silent everyone" Mrs Jane said and there was silence.

"I don't know about that but let's just stick to what's in the textbook," she said.

"That's bullshit" Hareton answered.

"Words Mr Hareton or you use the door," she said.

"Sorry ma, but all you have just said doesn't make any logical sense. How can you say someone with the coaty disease is still leaving up till today?" he questioned.

"Let's just leave the scientists to do their job" Mrs Jane answered.

"And also if it's called the untouchable coat, then how did Priest Lucan put it inside the glass box?" Wilson questioned.

"I'm here to teach what's in the textbook" Mrs Jane replied not knowing what to do.

"It's all crap, they are not telling us the truth, everything in that textbook is a big fat lie. And as a teacher you should be smart enough to go just beyond your textbook" Jude said.

"Yes!!!" the class chorused hitting the desk.

Mrs. Jane swallowed hard and just decided to ignore all she had just heard and continue with the lesson.

"It is said that anyone who goes close to the coat will be infected by the coaty disease..." She was saying when Hareton cut her short.

"And yeah yeah, the coat was owned by a demon-possessed girl, and then nobody can touch it. Does that make any sense to you, we've heard this story over and over again. Believe me Mrs. Jane it's all bullshit and crap and if you mind can you change the topic" Hareton blunted out.

"I will not have you talk to me like that, Mr Hareton" Mrs. Jane warned and that was when the bell rang.

"See you another time class," she said and left the class not sparing them a minute.

Then Hareton, Jude, and June gathered at Wilson's table.

"This is all crap," Hareton said.

"There must be a reasonable explanation for all these and it's up to us to find out the truth once and for all" Wilson replied.

"Let's meet at our usual place during lunch break," Jude and June the identical twins said at the same time.

"Yeah," they chorused.

"Hay Wilson," Halle a girl whom they guessed had a crush on Wilson said.

"Looks like Wilson's crush is here" Hareton whispered and they all held back their laughter.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"Just wanted to say hi" she answered.

"As you can see I'm busy, bye," he said and she smiled and left.

"Why can't she just leave me alone," Wilson complained and they gave him that "you problem" look still holding back their laughter.

"Really guys!" Wilson said.

"Let's just meet at our usual place," Hareton said and they dismissed.

Hareton Williams and his brother Linton Williams who was in elementary school, were the only children of their parents, Mr. Luke and Mrs. Mary Williams.

Hareton was an average student who didn't care about school and does whatever pleased him. He is undoubtedly rude and can be humorous sometimes and he also laughs a lot. Despite his parent being a workaholic it didn't affect him in any way. He took the responsibility of taking care of his little brother and was very appreciative and respectful to his parents. Even in all his parents still make out time for them and that makes them a great family.

Jude and June Edison were twins. They have an elder brother David who is in college and an elder sister Ericka who is attending the same school with them but in high school. Their dad passed on when they were little and their mom and David were the ones catering for the family. Their Mon, Mrs. Lisa Edison, was a nurse and also a nurse researcher. The twins are very close and nice but all in all trouble especially when they are fighting or quarreling and their friends love them for that and often laughed when in such a situation.

They are what we call four crazy and fantastic friends, which makes them the fantastic four.

In no distant time, the bell for lunch break was heard and a plethora of students crowded the hallway.

"Wilson! Wilson!" Cherry called out running after her brother in the hallway as he was moving at a fast pace.

"What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here" he said because the elementary school was in another building inside the school.

"Please tell Hareton to tell his brother to leave me alone, I don't want to be friends with him and that's final" Cherry complained.

"Not my problem Cherry" Wilson said.

"Oh, I tell mum..." She was saying when he cut her short.

"Look, you're smart, right? then look for a way to solve your problems and leave me out of it...okay...I got somewhere to be" he said as they were standing on a spot.

"You mean your little boy's hangout, blockhead," Cherry said.

"Go tell Chloe your problem, bye," he said and left her there.

"You will pay Wilson, I promise you," she said and left to go look for Chloe.

Greenfield School was a well-known school in the city. It is known for the best academic performance, athletic performance, and the best facilities, equipment, and building. The school can be best described as a popular, beautiful, and outstanding environment for learning. It is very big and located in a serene milieu, everyone called it a heaven on earth.

After searching for Chloe, Cherry found her in the cafeteria talking with Ericka.

"Sis, I got to talk to you," Cherry said on getting to their table.

"If it's getting rid of Linton, then it's not possible" Chloe informed.

"That boy is so annoying, I don't want to friend him" Cherry complained.

"Hey Cherry" Ericka finally spoke up.

"Not time Ericka, I've got bigger problems to solve" she answered.

"You call that a big problem?" Ericka questioned.

"Yes, not to you, you don't understand my situation. He is a pain and a bad bone in the neck. I just want to be on my own, don't you guys get" she said.

"Cherry just go away, I don't have time for this," Chloe said.

"Oh really? Dad and mom said you should look after me" she replied.

"Yeah and not babysit you, have you tried being friends with him?" Chloe asked.

"He's not worth it," Cherry said frustrated.

"I'll tell Dad to transfer you," Chloe said.

"You know I love it here and I'm not leaving because of some dumb boy" she answered.

"Go and look for Wilson, just go," Chloe said.

"He told me to come meet you and you want me to go look for him?" She questioned.

"I can't help you," Chloe said.

"I'll go but look at me, it's not over yet," she said and left.

"Your sister is something else" Ericka complained.

"Yeah, have to deal with that little thing every single day, especially Wilson" she replied.

"Speaking of Wilson, where are the boys?" Ericka asked.

"Probably hanging out somewhere, trying to save the world," Chloe said and they laughed.

Cherry was on her way back to her class when she sported Linton from afar coming her way. She ran into the nearest room which was the director's office and hide under a large table.

"That boy is gonna pay," Cherry said.

Then she heard the door click and open and she piped and saw two men dressed in suits taking outside the door, it was the director and if he finds her there she's in deep shit cause she was supposed to be in her building and not in the senior's director's office. She didn't know what to do as she was trapped, there was no way he was not going to find her there and from what she heard he was a ruthless and fearful man.

Then she looked at the top of the table and there was a big red button. Not knowing what to do, she punched it and the floor beneath her opened and she fell inside and immediately it closed.

Meanwhile, the boys have been looking for a way to come up with a logical explanation concerning the coat.

"Guys, I found something you might wanna see," Hareton said and they ran to where he was. He was holding an old dusty box.
