The unspoken god quits and becomes an innkeeper

The unspoken god of the world decides to leave his post and become a mortal innkeeper. He wishes to remain as a simple innkeeper and wishes nothing more than appease the customers of Unseen Moon Inn. He will face many customers. Some ruly and some unruly. He will quide things to play as he plans and those who try to mess with the god that knows the darkest secrets of the world will get what is coming to them. Be kind to others as long as they are kind to you. And when they are not, stay polite and try to find a peaceful path. If those that disturb your peace will not stop, find a way to "suitably" get rid of them. These are the rules that the innkeeper plays. Be wary of when you bear ill will to the innkeeper and his inn. And no, he is not doing a very good job hiding his power.

How do you mourn the one you forgotten?

One day Polemos came to the inn with a kid that looked almost exactly like her but with pink eyes. The kid seemed to be about the same height as Iloton if not a little taller. Jes just stared at it for a while, until Polemos said "Her name is Bellus". Jes responded with "So what I said to you back when we named Bellum stuck to you and you decided to make another child."

Polemos and Bellus both give a smug smile. Then Jes says "I can sense that it is mine. What I don't understand is how. I'm immune to any ill effects that magic or any foreign substance may affect my mind, so making me forget something is nigh impossible."

Polemos says while still looking smug "Life finds a way." Jes stared at them for a while and then asked "Did you take something from my body, like a hair strand, and go to the fricking god of alchemy Pilos?"

Polemos answers with "How did you know?" Jes then gives a sigh and then says "I knew I shouldn't have made that know it all Pilos with that fricking god of knowledge Gnosi. Of course Pilos would want a… two thirds of a sibling I think, twice. First it was Gnosi, then it was Polemos, then it started to be Dikaio and now even Pilos wants to get on my nerves. What is wrong with that family of gods?" Polemos says "We just care for you in our own way."

Jes decides to continue and stare at Polemos and then Bellus says "It is not good to stare at a lady papa. It is okay as long as it's the mama you are staring at, but other women is no no."

Jes replies "I don't even remotely care for Polemos as a lover. As far as I consider our relationship, we are only friends and the making of Bellum was strictly business." Polemos is shocked after hearing this. Then Bellus says to her "Don't worry mama, we still have time to change papa's mind." Jes comments "I don't think that's possible."

And while this all was happening, Diane, Rilli and Aia were all watching this exchange. Diane knew that Bellum was Jes's child, but the relationship between the mother and father is something she did not expect. The fact that this person who claims to be just an innkeeper has slept with not one, but two gods was just astounding to the three ladies. And then there was a fact that an actual god and her child were standing there was also something astonishing.

Diane asks the other two "If you become intimate with a friend, who is also a father of your half sibling, are you still just a friend?" Rilli responds "I don't know. I guess it depends on the people in question. Though that family sounds complicated. Leave it to the gods to do something absurd." Aia comments "But if you let things go that far, can it still be just friends?"

The three are speaking about this while Jes is trying to handle the problem that was in his inn.

Then Bellum and Eve came through the door and it became even more rowdier. Eve came with Bellum since they were training together and Even now wanted to know what sort of weapon Jes would be giving her.

Bellum just raises her hand and says "Sup" to Polemos and Bellus and the two respond in similar ways. It would appear that Bellum knew about Bellus's existance.

Eve asked Jes "So are you willing to give that weapon to me or do I still have to wait?" Jes responds "It is ready for you now. Just wait a moment." Jes pulls something out of a small portal. It resembled a black sword which had cracks in it. Jes says "Here it is." Aia then looks at the sword and then comments "This sword looks like it's about to break."

Jes says "That sword is named Shard Edge and it has the special ability to break into many small shards that can be controlled by magic. Let me show you." Then Jes used some mana to make the sword into small shards that flew around like a swarm of bugs. Jes says "Each of these shards are as sharp as the sword itself. By individually controlling each shard, you can overwhelm your opponent easily once you get the hang of it. The metal that it's made out of is near indestructible, so you don't have to worry too much about it. Oh, and don't worry about losing any shards since as long as you hold the handle, you'll know where each shard is located." Then Jes puts the sword back together and hands the sword to Eve.

Then Jes pulls out a book and says "This book should teach you how to control your magic precisely and efficiently. It should make you more capable of using the Shard Edge and then some." He hands the book to Eve, who seems happy about the gift. Then she says "Thanks dad." And the whole room falls silent.

Then Eve realizes what she says and says all embarrassed "I'm sorry. I… it just came out like that and umm… Sorry!" She runs to her room in embarrassment. Then Polemos says "Didn't know you have an aura of a dad." Bellum says "Indeed." Jes responds "I don't really try to do anything like that, but… since it turned out like that, I suppose I have a knack for it on some level."

Early in the next morning when Jes saw Eve going out, Jes just said to her "Don't overdo yourself. And Eve…" Eve responds with "Yes?" Then Jes continues "Feel free to call me whatever makes you feel comfortable." Eve then says "Is that so." And opens the door. But before she closes the door, she says "I'll be going out now dad. See you soon." Jes responds "See you soon." Then the door closes and Eve leaves all kiddy like. Jes just says "I suppose I have another kid now."

Some time passes peacefully. Then one day Iloton says to Jes when they were alone "You mentioned to Iloton that you are supposedly able to destroy the whole existence." Jes says "I did say that yes." Iloton continues "Then Iloton wonders how you would be able to do it? You were defeated by outer gods once and your rage was noticeable. If you can't win against the outer gods, then how could you possibly destroy the whole universe?"

Jes then says "The answer is simple, when I was in rage back then, I didn't do the deed that would have caused the universe to fall into ruin. I simply wanted to be dead for a while, even if it was just a mere moment of my existence." Iloton asks "Then how would you go about it?" Jes answers "It's quite simple really. I simply would just use my own power to delete myself from this world."

Iloton thinks for a moment and then says "That would cause the universe to collapse how?" Jes answers "You know that I am essentially a law in this whole existence?" Iloton answers "Iloton remembers, yes." Jes continues "What would happen to the whole universe if law that it was built upon would suddenly vanish?"

Iloton thinks for a moment. Then she says "Iloton gets it now. The universe wouldn't work properly. But would it destroy the whole existence?" Jes answers with "I have thought about this for a long time. And the only conclusion I have come up with is that it would cause the universe to collapse in a manner of speaking. It wouldn't destroy the whole existence in a moment, but the influx of forgotten information would have to go somewhere. There are two possibilities that could happen. One is that the information would constantly become part of all the sentient life in the whole universe and it would never stop being part of them. Eventually it would cause the inhabitants to go insane be it a mortal or even an outer god."

Iloton thinks some more and then says "What is the second possibility?" Jes answers "The second possibility would be that the time would stop progressing as there is nowhere for the information to go. By making it so that there would not be new information that would eventually become forgotten, hence the time would stop progressing. The only thing that could technically still do something is O since they exist outside of time, but even they would be limited on what they can do."

Iloton then says "Is that so. But can't the law you are speaking of exist even if you aren't sentient?" Jes says "If there is a way to sever my sentience from the law of the forgotten, then, and only then, would I be able to truly die. But it is close to impossible to do so since the law of the forgotten is integrated to me so deeply that severing the sentience from it, would essentially cause one of the existence ending scenarios to happen. That is if the law of the forgotten isn't "healed" in the way that can keep it going."

Iloton thinks again for a moment and then says "Iloton believes a little of what Jes says, but Iloton is still skeptical about whether or not Jes is telling the truth or not. Iloton can detect lies, but Iloton doesn't know if Jes is able to fool Iloton's ability somehow." Jes just says "It doesn't matter. In the end, nothing does."

Jes then breathes deeply and says to the glowing white person in his mind "Become numb to everything outside of yourself or keep your emotions and stay depressed. You chose the former and I chose the latter. I wonder which choice was better." The glowing white person just stands there as Jes comes back to reality.

One day Kyle and his family come and visit the night. It appears that Martha had twin boys named John and Jacob, Pili, the beastblood girl, had a girl named Juli and Chel had a girl named Chyl. All the kids were about five years old now, with the exception of Chyl. All came to rest for the night before they would head to another town to live a safer life. They had purchased a carriage for this trip and some supplies, so they were ready to travel quite far. Iloton got friendly with the kids and Jes had a little chat about kids with the adults.

After the family went to rest in their rooms, a surprising visitor came through the door. Teko himself came to chat with his old buddy Jes. Teko started with "Greetings unspoken god *****." Jes responded with "Greetings god of creation Teko. What brings you to my humble inn?" Teko says "Some trouble has arisen and…" Jes interrupts him and says "I'm going to stop you right there. I quit, remember? I'm not going to do your dirty work anymore."

Teko then says "Then what would you do if I told you I can fulfill your deepest wish." Jes gives a chuckle and says "Then I would say that you are one of many who have tried it before and failed. What makes YOU so confident?" Teko says "Morstit has been researching it along with multiple outer gods. They say that they are finalizing some details about the process and would be happy to give it a try when they are ready."

Jes says "You even partnered up with outer gods? Color me surprised. So tell me, are you willing to bet the whole world, no, the whole existence on it?" Teko says "I am." Jes just shrugs and says "Don't know if you are confident because you are close to the answer or because you are a fool. Whatever. What's the job?"

Teko then says "I knew you would come around. It is about the boy you met today. Jacob." Jes says "What did he do?" Teko says "It's not about what he has done but is bound to do. Ruel had a vision of the future where Jacob would find a way to use aether as a powersource to rule over others. You know the reason why this is unacceptable. We need you to get rid of him."

Iloton looks at Jes asks "Does he have to die?" Jes says "I wonder the same thing." Teko answers "We find it most crucial that we don't take any chances. That is why he must… disappear from the world of the living." Jes answers "I understand. Give me…a week and you will get the results you asked for." Teko asks "Why wait so long when you can do it just now?" Jes says "Just wait and see. You'll see what I have in plan." Teko then says "I see. Then I will await good results."

Then Teko leaves and Iloton asks "What are you going to do?" Jes says "Perhaps something cruel, but something that that righteous god should learn about what he has asked me to do. Wait here." Then Jes waits for the customers to fall asleep and then says "Silentium" and the whole inn becomes void of sound.

Jes goes to the room where Jacob is staying and gets close enough to touch him and say "Litatio" and the spell is done. He then leaves and once he is behind the counter, he cancels the spell that made everything silent and continues on with the night.

The next morning Jes makes sure to give the whole family a good meal before they depart. Then he waved their goodbyes and Kyle's family left for their journey. Jes said to them before they left "Have a safe trip. If you are ever in the area again, please come and visit my humble inn."

Couple of days later, Teko came in furious, saying "What did you do?" Jes plays ignorant and says "I don't know what you mean?" Teko says "You made Jacob die by being mauled by beasts and monsters alike." Jes answers "I do recall giving Jacob a little gift, but I don't know about what killed him in the end." Jacob slams the counter and shouts "Don't screw with me! Why did you kill him in such a way that had others suffering? You could have just done your thing and removed him from ever existing. By doing so, you would have saved so much grief."

Jes answers "I think this is more just action. This way his family can actually mourn his death and he gets a proper afterlife." Teko shouts "But you made them suffer! You knew that I wanted you to use your power by making everyone forget he ever existed. Why would you act so cruelly?" Jes says "The family has each other to support each other after this loss. They will be sad now and become depressed, but at least they can recall the good times and make the decision to move forwards."

Teko shouts "But you…" but then Jes interrupts him by saying "Do you have any idea how much disrespect you show to a person by saying that they should be removed from the world by making them appear like they never existed?" Teko says "What are you… It is a necessary evil we gods must do in order for our world to last that much longer."

Jes says "You have no idea how much disrespect you show to the people around the people who have to be eliminated by me." Teko says "What are you on about? You…" Jes stops him speaking by saying "You had a brother once."

Teko stops for a moment and then asks "What?" Jes says "You had a brother named Tuho who was a god of destruction. You two were so close even though the spheres you were in." Teko mumbles "I… had a brother? But… you… you removed him from the world?" Jes says "Exactly. How does it feel to not be able to mourn the loss of someone close to you? You can't remember a single thing about them so how would you be able to feel sad about the brother you have forgotten long ago?"

Teko backs off for a moment and mumbles "You… you must be lying… I don't… That's it. You have to be lying. That's it, isn't it? You just want to make me mad." Jes says "Think whatever you think. For the rest of your life, you have to wonder "Did I truly have a brother?" but never be able to come to a conclusion."

Teko asks "Then why did you remove him?" Jes says "I'm afraid I will not tell anything more than that. After all, that would ruin the whole lesson I'm teaching to you now." Teko chuckles and says "A lesson? You? To me? Now you must be…" Jes says "Need I remind you that I have memories of a being that existed long before you? So think about the brother you may or may not ever have and think that "This feels cruel to me." and "I want to mourn if it's true, but I can't."

Teko says "I don't need to take this from you." Then he starts to leave. But before he could leave, Jes says "Just remember, you cause this pain to others by ordering me to do so. Remember the kingdom of Piliptos, for that is the fate you ask me to put to your victims." Then he says the word "Recordatio" and a sudden flux of the information about the kingdom that was given the judgment to be forgotten by all goes to Teko's head and he screams in pain "No. No!" Jes says "All those people. Never to be remembered and mourned. Now carry the burden like I have." And then Teko teleports away.

Iloton says "So this is what you chose. Iloton finds it interesting, though…" Jes asks "Though?" And Iloton continues "Iloton can't help but feel a little sad about Jacob and the others." Jes responds with "Remembering the fates of the ones who suffer is something the living must bear."

Jes mumbled to himself "I once did your dirty work for you, but I choose not to be used anymore by the likes of you. If by some miracle you truly find a way to be able to fulfill my wish, then I applaud you and do the jobs you still wish for me to do. Just remember, messing with things you don't understand can prove fatal sometimes."

And so the god of creation learned a valuable lesson about the power he was using.

First, to make things clear, there is no incest in the Gnosi family. But for other gods things might not be so innocent.

Second, there was multiple timeskips that made the five year difference. When I say "One day" then that can mean the next day, a month later or even a year later. I don't specifically tell which are which, but now you know.

Third, Juglius's family structure is complicated.
