A meeting between two kings and a devil of flame

One day Iloton asks "Why is Diane using a fake name?" And Jes answers "Because she is a demon and they aren't treated kindly in human territory." Iloton then says "But demons aren't the bad ones. It is the devils that are the real issue." Jes responds "That's just how things are. Demons are easily manipulated by devils thanks to their ancestral connections." Iloton says "But demons are mainly lesser devils who were accepted to live in the mortal realm by the gods. Doesn't it make sense for humans to respect the gods' wishes?" Jes answers "Many still see demons as bloodthirsty savages and that stigma cannot be removed easily."

After a while, Iloton decides to ask "Iloton heard you use incantations when you fight. What determines the language you use?" Jes thinks for a moment to answer, then he says "If I want to use powerful incantation, I would use an extremely old language that no one but me understands. When I feel like the opponent is decent enough, I'll use the forgotten language known as latin. And when I don't care what incantation people think I'm using, I use the common language of that specific world. In this particular world, people who use incantations as a base of a spell, usually go for the language they understand the best."

Iloton then says "But wouldn't it be better to use a spell without incantation?" Jes answered "Yes, it is often faster to do so, but I rarely run into situations where I have to cast any sort of spell that fast. Spending one second to say a simple yet powerful incantation is more practical in my opinion than having a chance of failing the spell by losing focus midway." Iloton then says "Iloton gets it now. So you just want to sound more cool" Jes says "So you didn't get it. Anyways, I use different types of incantations in different situations if I use one at all. End of discussion."

Then a couple of days later, a peculiar situation arose. The king of Terra Michael and the king of demon territory Harm came and sat at the same table. Both of them gave five gold each for compensation. There were three attendants on both sides that entered the inn and some stayed outside.

Before the two would start the meeting, Jes came by and said with a smile "Dear customers. While I do appreciate the patronage, if there were customers that would have been bothered by your presence, I would have had to throw you out. So next time you decide to hold a meeting in my humble inn, please inform me beforehand or there will be consequences. Do I make myself clear?" Both men nod and say "Yes" then Jes leaves back to his counter and lets the two talk in peace.

They talked about important things considering peace between both territories. While Mike was first terrified of Harm, he still managed to push through as a king of his people.

Then before they could sign an agreement, a sweet smell started emanating the inn. Jes felt that something was wrong, and as soon as he thought so, the demons in the inn started to become aggressive and shouted. Their bodies grew in size and it started to become quite a problem. Before Harm could hit Mike, Jes came between them, took the blow and then said "Otium". After that, the demons started to calm down and fall asleep.

The guards started to panic and tried to take Mike out of the inn, but Mike stopped them and asked Jes "What just happened?" Jes replied, "A devil's incense was used." Mike asked "Devil's incense? You mean the one that turns demons into their primal state?" Jes said "Yes. It would seem to appear that someone didn't want this meeting to end smoothly. Wait here a moment."

Jes then goes and retrieves the devil's incense. He then says to Mike "I have extinguished the incense. Now dear customer, would you like me to apprehend the culprit behind this?" Mike thinks for a moment and then decides to say "Yes. If you know who it is."

Then Jes grabs one of the guards and says "It was you." The guards then said in panic "It wasn't me, I swear! This man is accusing me of something I didn't commit!" Mike then asks Jes "Are you sure that it's him?" Jes responds "This man was the only person that touched the incense besides me. It wasn't here before you entered, so he was the one who put it there and most likely lighted it." Mike then says to the guard "Do you have anything to say for your defense?" The guards then said "It wasn't me. I swear."

Then Iloton says "Iloton finds it very disgusting to lie to someone that is higher on you in status, such as it is now king asking one of his underlings to speak the truth. Yet still you lie." The guard then says "What do you know about lies, little girl? Did your parents teach you to play a role like that?" Iloton says "Iloton's parent told Iloton to never lie, even if it pleases people. Because once you lie, you bring disrespect upon yourself."

The guard then says "You can't be taking these people seriously my king." Mike sighs and says "Take him away." To which the other two guards take the traitor and bring him to custody for further questions. While being dragged away, the traitor guard shouts "If my king is someone as vain as to trust demons, then I have no king!" The other guards then gag him so that he doesn't spout any more nonsense.

After the traitor guard is taken away, Mike says to Jes "Thank you for your assistance innkeeper." Jes then responds by saying "It is nothing, dear customer. I only did what was expected of me."

Then later, Harm and his men wake up while the effect of the devil's incense has diminished. Harm was confused and asked "What happened?" And then Jes explains it to Harm and his men. Harm understands the situation and says "Should we still proceed with the signing, king of Terra?" To which Mike said "If you are still willing, king of demons." They then put the table back up, find the paper and ink, and then they sign the agreement that they have come to understand. They then shook hands and left on their separate ways.

But before they could go, Jes felt a sudden spike of magical energy coming from outside. He deduced that that guard wasn't out of tricks. The magical energy seemed to indicate that something was coming that wasn't from the mortal realm. A summoning.

Since the spike of magical energy got so huge, Jes teleported as many people away, since the summoning circle was already set just outside of the inn. Then from a safe distance they saw a giant pillar of flame coming from the inn. It was at least 200 meters in diameter and it pierced the sky like it was nothing.

Mike then said "My gods" and Harm said "I can't believe it. It's…" Iloton then says "A devil of some sort." Harm says "Yes. From that kind of power, we can deduce that it must be one of the primal devils, Belial." Mike says "If tiers went that high, he would be tier 13. A tier only obtainable to gods and devils."

Once the pillar of flame dissipates, all that is left is a burnt wasteland and the devil that caused it. A 3 meter tall devil whose skin was black as ebony that was covered in few glowing lines that seem to show little of the devil's insides. His eyes are like burning lava and his two horns are massive which comes from the sides of his head. He has a mace that is as black as him and glows like him, like it was created from parts of his body.

Belial shouts "HAHAHAHAA! Finally! A mortal real! Time to feast on these puny souls and decimate the land by flames!" Then Jes teleports to his side, without anyone noticing it before, and he speaks "Are you done?"

Belial is surprised by the sudden appearance of someone appearing so weak. He says "You got guts, I give you that mortal. Now perish." Belial casts a huge explosion that would decimate any mortal being. Belial starts looking at the town and is ready to go there, but then he notices that the presence of Jes hasn't disappeared. Once the smoke clears, Jes brushes his shoulder and says "Is that all?"

Belial is surprised and asks "How did you…" Then Jes interrupts him by saying "Now if you excuse me, but you just destroyed the land that I owned. And that land happened to have an inn I'm the owner of. How are you going to compensate me for this?" Belial takes a leap back and casts another, even greater, explosion that was colored blue for one moment. He wishes that that would have taken care of Jes, but his presence still remained.

So to make sure Jes dies, Belial casts his most fearsome firespell "flame nova" and throws it at Jes. Jes then just snaps his fingers and the spell dissipates like it was never there.

Belial is scared now and he bursts out a massive firespell "devil's footprint" that can't be extinguished by anyone except the caster. The radius is around 500 meters. The area becomes covered in flame extinguishable by no one but Belial himself. He then laughs "HAHAHAHA! Now what can you do?! You can't stop this flame no matter what! So how about you bow down and…"

Jes then says "Nullus" and the flames disappear and. Then he says "Rejuvenate" and the grass becomes green again. Belial is sweating now and asks "What did you do?" To which Jes answers with "Two little spells that I learned one day out of boredom. Maybe I was inspired by some game in another world? Don't matter. What I did is what a do." Belial asks "What do you mean another…" Then Jes gave an aura that terrified Belial. Jes then asked with a smile on his face "So back to the topic at hand. How will you compensate?"

Belial then starts flying away in fear, but Jes catches him and smacks him to the ground. Causing some damage to the ground he was rolling on. Once Belial's momentum stopped, he still tried to escape, but then he heard a calm voice coming from a distance that belonged to Jes "Where do you think you are going? We haven't discussed the matter of payment yet."

Belial is terrified as he turns around and says "I… can give you some of my treasury." Jes then says with a kind smile "A part of your treasury you say?" Belial then panics and says "All of it! I give all of it!" Jes then says "You think that you can pay yourself out of this? How about you show me some manual labor?" Belial then asks in confusion "What?" Jes then says "You will become someone who works under the Elysion store and you will work diligently as long as I say. Are we understood?"

Belial then says "You want me… a primal devil Belial… to work in a simple shop?" Jes then says with an intimidating aura "Are we understood?" Belial then says in a panic "YES! Understood!"

Jes then says "Good, now turn to your more humanoid form and then we are talking." Belial does so and he turns into a 2,4 meter tall, dark skinned demon with much smaller horns than his devil form had. There are some lines that are between orange and red that cover his body, but other than that, he looks like a normal, if not a little tall, demon.

Then Jes teleports them back to the place where the inn used to be, rebuilds it in a blink of an eye, and then teleports all the people back along with the carriages. Mike then asks "Wha- What did you just do? And who is he?" Jes introduces Belial to him "This is Beli, an upcoming employer of Elysion. Formerly known as the primal devil Belial."

Mike stops for a second. Then says "What? I mean I was astonished when I saw you fight Belial, but you managed to make him live like a normal person?" Jes says "It is up to a debate whether or not he will be normal, but I managed to convince him." Harm then asks "Will the people in Elysion agree on this?" To which Jes says "Oh they will. I have a feeling we will have a… mutual understanding amongst ourselves."

Both Harm and Mike are terrified of Jes now. Now they know that Jes can take on a tier 13 like a piece of cake. They then went on their ways and once they reached their respectful places where they ruled, they made a proper order and record that says "Jes Tacitus and his inn should not be, under any circumstances, ever be fucked with."

And in Jes's side, he convinced Elision to accept Beli to her company. Jes made sure to make Beli understand that, should he fuck around, he would soon find out.

Iloton later asked "Why did you send Beli to a shop when he could have worked here?" To which Jes answered "Two reasons. One, he would have scared the few customers that we do get. And two, I didn't want to deal with him." Iloton then asked "Then why didn't you send him back to hell?" Jes responded "That would have been too kind of me. This way, I can make him suffer for the trouble he caused." Iloton then says "Iloton would have just eaten him." Jes responds "Of course you would have."
