Chapter 42: that person

Emica got awake when a cold water splashed her face. "Wakey wakey little princess, its morning already" "You—", she said as she struggle to get off from being tied upside down. "If I were knew you are the killer, I just killed you myself from the moment I first laid my eyes on you" The person looking cute at her as the sound from the iron pipe echoes in the whole place when it got hit one by one by another iron pipe that person was holding. "So sad, you didn't, I was looking forward for something that will thrill me anyway" that person sigh like that person was so disappointed. "Hmmm… but sad to say that you will end up like them in the end of the day without getting back at me" as that person make way to let her see her unconscious friends lying on the ground. "You—", she said again and tried to get off from the ties. "What did you do to them. I'm telling you, if you lay a finger on them—" "What, you will kill me? hahahahahahahaha" that person got teary eyes from laughing so hard. "Ugh… I don't remember when was the last time I laughed so hard like that, thanks to you for that before losing your life", that person said while wiping that person's tears. "And because of that, I will spare your life for maybe…uhmmm… let me see…an hour? An hour will do?" "What? An hour? Why don't you just kill me already like on what you did to the others" "Oh, you want to die without suffering also? That was great yet I don't want to miss the fun. "Happy my ass, I will just going to be happy if I saw you rotting in hell" That person smirked as that person wipe that person's face and picked up the soda can in a small rusty round table beside that person then pour all what is inside the can to her nose that she almost got dizzy. "Oh, I will be late", that person says upon checking that person's wrist watched. That person stopped from what that person is doing and crumpled the soda can like it was just a piece of paper and throw it in the air as that person walks away.

"Safe", said Fuyumi as she lean on the wall beside the door in the classroom while catching her breath. "It is not so you to be late, Fuyumi", said Kazumi walking towards her. "I was having fun and I got lost of the time" "Having fun, having fun of what?" Fuyumi just smiled at him with her eyes closed as her lips then said, "Secret" then make her way to her desk. "Eeeeeeehhhhh, I also want to have some fun", said Kazumi who follows her to her sit. "Did you find lost kitten on the road? Did you eat a lot from the free taste food stalls? Or did you won in a race with the kids in the preschool while going to school" "Hahahaha I'm not like you Kazumi" she stopped from fixing her things and look up to him and said, "It was something that was really fun, exciting and thrilling that kids don't do" then continue bringing her things out of her bag. Kazumi was supposed to answer back when the homeroom teacher came in so he went back to his seat.

"Ah" Fuyumi looked at Kazumi who just break the silence between them two. "There is a new opened arcade center near the plaza. Do you want to visit the place after school?" then he grab a bite in his long sandwich. "Nah, maybe next time. I have something to do" "Are you going to have that fun again? C'mon, arcades are also fun or if you don't want to go on an arcade then why don't you let me join you on that fun thing" "It is a game that little boys don't play. I will let you join if you are already ready enough" "What is that game that looks like it is really tough, don't tell me… you join in a gang and you are fighting other delinquents?" "Is that the kind of girl you like? Who join gang fights" "I don't know what you are talking about" as he concentrated on his sandwich. Fuyumi smirked and continue eating also.

'Uugh… I'm too tired. Arcades are sure fun but I think that there is no funnier seeing that face of yours" That person said while stretching walking towards Emica.

"Uugh…I'm bored" Kazumi said while leaning on his chair in his place. "Oh I forgot to tell Kurumi that I changed my address. I should tell her so that she won't get confused to the next time she will come to visit", he tell to himself and bring his phone out of his pocket and dialed her number.

"What should I have for dinner", said Kazumi while locking his door to go for a moment to a convenience door then noticed Fuyumi's brother who just got home from school. "Oh, did you just got home from school?" "Hmm", he answered smiling weakly at him before he opens the door of their apartment then he enters. Kazumi stopped him from closing the door to ask if Fuyumi was already home. Her brother look around the room to check. "Aaahh, I think she's not her yet" "Huh?! It is already getting dark. She said she have something fun to do and that is why he turned my invitation down to go on a new opened arcade center" "So she's up with that thing again" "Huh?! Do you know what she's doing and where is she right now?" "For me it was just a childish thing yet she enjoyed it a lot. I feel sorry for my sister fir once", he said as he turned around to go to the kitchen and drink a glass of water from the pitcher placed on the dining table. "Tell me, did she join a gang? Haaaaa", act shocked. "She's a mafia now, isn't she" "Don't be stupid bro Kazumi. Sis is not that strong to join gang fights yet she played games that only she can understand and dangerous enough like fighting a hundred members of a gang" "I can't still understand. If she's not into that kind of things then what she's up to" "Are you worried about her?" Kazumi was supposed to answer that when his stomach answer it for him. "Ah I think I need to get something away" He started to walk his way out while saying looking at him, "We are not yet finished. We will continue this conversation once my stomach is filled" then the door slammed. Fuyumi's brother just sigh when Kazumi leaves then stared at the big round bright moon from the small window in the kitchen.

That person almost fell on the floor from where that person is sitting while sleeping. "Did I just fall asleep?", said while gather that person's self together. That person stand to see Emica nearer. "Aren't you tired already? You have been struggling from being tied upside down since three days ago yet you can't still fee yourself" that person smiled without opening that person's lips and closed eyes. "But, that makes me so proud of myself. No one ever can undo my knots" That person moves closer to her to whisper in her ears. "And that is one of the reasons why I am unbeatable" Then after whispering, that person turn around and start walking away from her. "Yet I have to congratulate you from surviving this far and you are still in yourself and strong even your blood are keeping on going to your head from that position, adding the soda that got in to you. I didn't you are this tough Emica. If we just met on the other way, maybe you can be my best friend" That person as it stopped and faced her again. I would rather buy a dog to be a friend. And yes, I am really tough and because I just found my reason to live, it is to crash you", she said in a brave tone of voice without a sign of being in pain even she know to herself that she won't last longer anymore. I am already imagining things that we can both do together, like finishing off every single students or faculty in this school. So I have to do that alone. I mean I could invite all the devils from hell to make my work easier yet one of them is not accepting my invitation, so sad", then that person pout trying to act to be cute in front of her. "Your wish, I will not joining your pathetic act even it kills me" "I am so disappointed that I even prepare a present for you. But even you turned me down, I will still hand it to you. I know that girl's like you won't last a day without taking a bath, so I prepared a shower for you, just for you" That person turned on the faucet. "Enjoy", said with a smile on that person's face. A cold liquid coming from the ceiling start pouring directly into Emica. After a while, that person turned off the faucet. "It's too bad that I got bored on things I do easily" Emica start coughing cause some of the liquid that are poured went inside her. That person brought out a lighter from the pocket and start flipping its cover. From that moment, Emica already knew what will happen next. "You… what are you planning to do", you can already sense from her voice that she is shaking from fear from that brave tone of voice a while ago. "Don't you feel cold? It is so cold in here that I want to heat up the whole place, don't you agree? So I'm thinking to have a little bonfire with you" "If you feel cold, then why don't you go back to the hell you belong" "Oh, what a great idea, I didn't think of that but do you think it is unfair that I am the only one who will experience the heat? So I decided that I will take you with me" as that person throws the lighter to her. That person turned back at her and start walking away from the flame that started spreading like that person is in an action movie. "See you there". Kazumi just went out from the convenience store enjoying his lollipop holding a plastic bag of foods when he bumped into someone. He was about to complain when he realized who is that person that bumped him. "Fuyumi?" Fuyumi stopped from running when she heard Kazumi called her. "What are—" Before he finished what he is saying, Fuyumi grab his hand and run. Kazumi has no idea what is going on. "What's going on?", he whispered to her while they are hiding form one of the mascots in a kid's restaurant. Fuyumi silent him in placing her pointing finger to his lips while concentrating on from being a look out. When a group of young men passed. Fuyumi feel relieved and went out from where they are hiding. "What is going on Fuyumi? Are those guys chasing you? Is this the game you are playing?" "Woah woah, easy man", said Fuyumi trying to stop him with both of her hands from asking questions without even breathing. "First, yes, those guys are chasing me. Second, why? Because I beat them" "What?! You beat those guys?!" "It's not the thing you are thinking. I would never join a gang or a mafia even it is a kind of girl that you like. And lastly, yes, this is the game I've been playing that I am talking about" "What kind of game, 'I will chase you to kill you'?" "Hahaha you are funny as ever Kazumi. No, it's not like that. I beat them in a…hmmm….a computer game…yes, a computer game" she said convincing him that it is really a computer game. Kazumi move his face to closer to her to ask her if it is really a computer game coz he is not convinced that it is. "Uhmmm, yeah…. I've been hanging out in a computer shop nowadays and play with those guys. We just have a bet this time and they can't accept that they lost to a girl like ma so…they chase me", Fuyumi said like it is not a big deal. Kazumi moved one step backward with both of his hands on his waits. "Hmmm", he said while making his eyes small. "So you rejected me to go to arcade because of this? It is not so you to be doing things like this"

"I am looking for my brother last week because he is not home yet and it is already passed seven in the evening that time. His phone is keep on ringing but he is not answering so I am worried", she said and sip her Slurpee. They are now seating from the convenience store a while ago eating a snack. "I found him playing with those guys in one of the computer shops nearby" Kazumi quietly listening without taking his eyes off her while consuming his food. "I got pissed when I saw him enjoying himself and here I am panicking where he might have been. So I pinched his ears and pull him up to stand from his chair holding only his ear. Of course, he will scream in pain. I know that what I did hurts him", she said looking from a far from the glass in the convenience store. "We even caught the attention of the people in that place"

"Ow, o wow. Siiiiis" "Do you know how worried I am because you are not home yet and for your information young man, it is already passed seven in the evening. Your class had finished an hours ago" "Siiiiis let me finish this one game then let's go home" "Huh?! What did you say?" She pull his ear closer to her so that she can whisper. "Let's go home already now or I'll finish you" Chills run all over her brother's body upon hearing that. He knows that when his sister is like that, he can't joke around her anymore or he'll die. "Whaaaat is that noise. I can't concentrate on my game. Because of you two I lose", said a big guy who looks like a delinquent in an anime who lose in one punch by the main character. He stopped for a while upon seeing Fuyumi then his eyes changed into hearts. "What is a beautiful girl like you doing in here" Fuyumi's brother tried to stop the guy from coming into his sister but Fuyumi signaled him to step aside. "Mind your own business", she said in a cold tone. "But what if my business is you", said the guy holding Fuyumi's chin. Her brother stopped him. "I will make you mine" "You wish" "Okay let's make a deal, if I won in one game, you will be mine before the night changes" "Okay deal, but if I won. You will never show your filthy face in front of me ever again" "Siiiiiis" "Okay deal". Then they both went to face their own computers. "Siiiisss" "Don't worry, I will win this one"

"That was fun", she said as she stand and start stretching. "Now I know why you like playing computer games" "I don't know, why did I lose" "Ahmmm beginners luck?" "No one ever beat me in this game" "But sad to say that I did", then she tapped the guy's shoulder. "Don't worry, don't get discourage that a girl like me who never played that game before won over you", she said tapping his shoulder while smiling foolishly. The guy who just got hit by many arrows is now down by the floor already.

"Did you really beat that huge guy in just one game?!". Kazumi said with big eyes on her still cannot believe. Fuyumi just smiled as an answer. "I know that I am already good at school yet I don't know that there are any other things that I am good at" "You are not a human" Fuyumi giggled. "I am sorry by the way for not going with you in the arcade. I will make it up to you next time" "Now you got me", said Kazumi fixing the way he sit. "I want to play one game with you" he said as he look at her.

Fuyumi went out of their apartment to go to school, she's still bit sleepy and yawning. She didn't notice that Kazumi is standing in front of her. When she stop yawning, that is when she saw him. Kazumi is just smiling at him "Y…you're early" "Did you get any sleep last night?" "I barely", she said then they walked together to school. "Did you have fun playing with us last night? Even though you always lost", Kazumi is starting to laugh. "Don't laugh at me like that. I said that I was just a novice when it comes to that kind of things and it was my first time playing that game. It was different from what I am playing at the computer shop" "Huh?! That game was also in the computer shop. You never tried?" "Ah…Ahmmm…maybe I just focusing on another game when I am there" "Yeah, you should try playing other games and not just focusing on one. You will have more fun." "Ahhh… Okay" Fuyumi wiped the sweat flowing into her head early in the morning.

The three of them sit together like they are going on a war. A few moments later, "Oh shoot" "Kazumi, did you lose again?" "Why are you so good with this?" "Woah, I never thought that I will beat the two of you in one game" "Just, how good are you" Kazumi tapped Fuyumi's shoulder. "Learn from the expert", then he giggled. "I'm going to sleep first, it is already late", said her brother as he stand to leave Kazumi's apartment. Fuyumi checked the time and yes, it is already passed two in the morning and they have been playing since ten. "Shoot, I have to go also. We still have a class tomorrow", she said as she immediately stand and leave. "Did you finished our homework already?" Fuyumi stopped from putting her slippers on and slowly turned her head to Kazumi with a shocked reaction. "Do we have an assignment?" "Nah, just kidding", said Kazumi.

"I've been playing video games with your brother but having you is different" "I never thought that playing games is this fun. I wish I discovered it earlier. Now I understand why guys got addicted to it" "Now you know why your brother is always going home late for that" "It is not always though, it is just once in a while" "And now you know why your brother likes going into my place" "Yeah you both get along when it comes to that" "By the way, did he also get some sleep?" "He's very tired from last night. He's still snoring when I left him" "Huh?! He doesn't have a class?"
