CHAPTER 10 My new family....

I walked into the main hall of the shopping store ...I looked at the paying station and realised there was quite a crowd there...I walked over to the payment supervisor and asked him to do something about the it.

I noticed some of the payment booths were not opened...so I quickly gave instructions and as soon as the crowd started reducing I moved to the electronics section of the store.

This is my first round of observation today, I also use it as my walking time as instructed by the doctor...I slowly made my way from section to section followed closely by my assistants incase there was any instructions I want to give and I am sure James has told them to watch over me too...

Ah...my big brother James, I smiled as I thought about him. He was my watch man, bodyguard name it ...

He was always so concerned about me, checking on me every 2 hours if I have eaten, if I have slept...if I have taken my vitamins...

As soon as he notices any frown or look of tiredness, James goes into overdrive.

I signed, so grateful for my new family ...I am amazed at how it suddenly looks as if we have known each other for eternity...and its been how long? .....Six months since we met.

I suddenly heard my name from the store speakers ..Manager Trisha is wanted immediately at the Admin office..I took a different left turn and headed to my office.

On getting there I saw James sitting on my desk looking worried ...as soon as he saw me he glared at me...I thought I told you not to overwork your self?

I just took a walk around...I started to explain

But the doctor said I should do some exercises... really James I am fine I said laughing at him..he has become a mother hen.

I am taking you home now he said ...

But I am not through with work I replied, please let me finish with some of this sales order files.

Hand them over to your assistant manager, I thought we agreed that you are handing over this week he asked

I didn't agree with you I said rolling my eyes ...common on let me work till I am ready to give birth.

No way, that is not going to happen! He glared at me, shook his head and said I give you 30 mins, I am going to see the fresh food section supervisor and by the time I am back you are heading home he warned.

I nodded and started working as quickly as possible on the files on my table.I have to start handing over my responsibilities to the store assistant manager, just that I really am not ready to start staying home so I keep putting it off...

I was eight months gone, and my stomach was not too big really just that its quiet uncomfortable moving around right now.

Even more uncomfortable sitting down or even tie my shoe lace...I don't know if I could have managed alone.

My new family...they have given me a new lease of life...they took me in, gave me a job and ensured I was taken care of...

Mr and Mrs Moreson..were mother hen grandparents and James ...ah he just wouldn't let me dwell in the past.

My new family...my support system. I wonder if I would have been able to manage without them..my pregnancy was not easy at the early stages...I was very sick...

Sometimes too sick to leave my room..the Morning sickness nausea and vomiting) was so severe, despite it name, my strick at any time of the day or night especially during the first trimester.

The doctors said that it was a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum. The symptoms caused severe dehydration that resulted in my loss of weight because I I couldn't keep any food or liquid down. I had to be treated with with intravenous (IV) fluids and some medications.

Yeah the early stages was...

One of my assistant Joe knocked on my door,came in and said the security supervisor wanted to see me..

What about? I asked ..

it's concerning a shop lifter..he answered I raised my eyebrows as in so what ...can't he deal with it ...I mean why do I have to be involved.

Boss, I think you need to hear this and meet her ...

Who I asked wondering what was going, I wanted to finish approving some Sale orders and sign some documents...I don't have time for this .

The girl..the one shop lifting...

What's so ...I was interpreted when I heard he young girl shouting ..let go of me ..you cannot treat me like this ...I have money to pay for the things...

Then you should not have stolen them...this is the third time I caught you..you have to be taken to the police station and locked up for stealing ...

oh boy ...I told my assistant to let them in...

When I saw the girl I was shocked ...she looked five to six years old ...but her voice was very strong.

And the way she is dressed ...was expensive I noted, looking at her Frozen tshirt and sneakers....

So you are the manager? she asked pointing at me ...I just kept looking at her...
