The Undying Star

A star? I wasn't even close to being something as beautiful. But... undying? Yes. I was. Since death never ever accepted me into its embrace. So what if I live this story to its end one more time? Just one last time. I want to feel it, living, rather than death. Only once. What awaits me at the end of this never-finished draft, I wonder... Is it the cure to my curse, or yet another rebirth?

Come with me

"H-He's alive!"

Alaric put down the wolf pup and rushed to hold onto Ian's body. The unmoving boy suddenly coughed, letting out a sigh. His eyelids fluttered, gaze still blank, yet his pupils somehow held in themselves a tiny bit of life.

"D-do something! Master Zal! Master Zal!"

Even if he was alive, his state was just... horrible. Blood was spewing out of his mouth like a waterfall, a nosebleed was blocking his breathing, and crimson tears were rolling down his eyes. On top of them was the tattered state of his body, his broken ribs, burned flesh, and the half-healed hole in his chest.

"He's...? Oh lord!"

Zal, who flashed beside the body, inspected the gasping bluehead for a second as he knelt down.

"He'll choke that way!"
