Not soon enough

As far as she knew, she was raised in an orphanage. Mary was certain that to date, she didn't know how she ended up in an orphanage but she remembers clearly being abducted at the age of 12.

The girl sighed before she left her chair and went to her balcony where she had some view of the city. Her mind raced back to the kidnapping incident.

She ended up being kidnapped because she seemed to be more mature than the rest of her friends at such a young age, prompting the kidnappers to pick her instead.

After the incident, the girl remembers being taken to a building, which had different labs and from her conclusion, they didn't plan anything good for her and she realized sooner that indeed, they were up to no good.

Mary was meant to be transformed into a deadly killer machine after which she would be sold to people in the underworld for her to work for them.
