Chapter 99 - Miss CEO

"Anyways so…. As I was saying" Jennifer brought the locker out of her bookshelf and kept it on the table. She inserted the password really secretively, cautiously eyeing James and Adrian so that they couldn't see the password. "Don't you trust him with the password?" James asked Jennifer as he quickly turned away like a pure gentleman. "I don't know if I can spend my entire life with him if he keeps making such rash decisions like this." Jennifer's blunt truth hit Adrian hard.

He really had to get control of him. Even the biggest mafia in the world needs advisors in time of need and he was especially in need for some because of his rash decision making skills when Jennifer swooped in the situation. His smile wiped away and he also turned his back to Jennifer. He wanted to be the perfect man for her and that needed time. So let's just wait and improve. Even the top of the world needs to go, persevere to stay on top. Nothing in this life is easy especially not love.

When Jennifer finally opened the locker, Adrian and James turned around and saw a stack of papers and some markers and a smaller box in it. A lot of random stuff here and there. Pictures. Newspaper clippings. In short, many things that didn't make sense currently. When Jennifer got put the stack of papers, she turned out her confident, Miss CEO mode on. She began speaking as she handed over a paper to Adrian. James moved near to take a look.

The paper has some dates and some information. It looked like a resume with a lot of dates. "Look at the first date." Jennifer said. The date was 19 October 2011. Adrian looked up in shock. "That's the day when mom got arrested." Jennifer nodded. "and this is the news paper clipping that covers the arrest of your mother. It say arrested for dealing drugs across the United States of America. Drugs worth $10k recovered." Jennifer picked out another photo and said, "But according to my research, your father purchased drugs worth $200K and he intended to sell it not only in USA but also in countries across Europe."

Adrian was shocked at the revelation. How deeply had she studied this case? "So where did rest of the drugs go?" Jennifer questioned them but Adrian and James had no answer. This was a breakthrough even the police had not made. They thought they recovered all the drugs and closed the case after Adrian's mother's arrest. James was deeply impressed. And so was Adrian. Jennifer confidently went through the entire research she had made.

She told them about how she went over the horrifying pictures and mafias and police archives and newpapers that dated 9 years ago. Adrian's heart instantly melted when he thought about how scary it would have been to go over all of this for her and that too alone. "So as I was saying this man came to-" Jennifer stopped when she felt Adrian hug her from behind. She had turned her back on them to take out another picture that was the proof of drugs brought by a clean shaved man to another one who was dressed in all black from head to toe.

"Adrian, I am explaining something." Jennifer said trying to wiggle out of his hug. "Shh… don't say anything." Adrian tightened his hug. "I can't even think of how many times you would have been scared out of your wits when you went through all this research work." Jennifer instantly melted along Adrian's body. This hug was much needed. She remembers having such a hard time when she searched these out. She was so scared at times. At times she even woke up at night because she thought their was a drug dealer in her house. The pictures and their criminal record were really scary.

"You know this was really hard, honestly." Jennifer dropped the idea of picking another picture and instead placed her hand on Adrian's cheek. They were both descending into their moment when James cleared his throat loudly catching their attention. "Attention love birds! You have some explanation going on and you have your best friend in the room. Can you please create a little space between both of you." He talked first to Jennifer and then to Adrian. They both moved away.

Adrian took back his seat as Jennifer resumed her explanation. "So you mean to say that they have 7 men and all of them are older than 25 years in age?" James asked. "Yup! And I have found a little bit on their identities in this town as well." Jennifer took out another page from the stack and handed it over. "These are their names, as I have drawn conclusions." Adrian looked at the names. Some of them were familiar. They knew some of them face to face as well.

After about three hours, Jennifer finally took a breath as she finished her presentation. James stood up clapping immediately. He was so impressed. She was made for this kind of stuff. It came so naturally to her. "Sit down." Jennifer blushed a little. "That reminds me of something, more like a somebody." James smirked at Adrian. "Don't you dare!" Adrian got up immediately. "You sound just like Adrian when he gives us a meeting in den!" James said hurriedly.

Adrian blushed avoiding eye contact with Jennifer. "I also noticed that too!" Adrian whispered slowly. Jennifer also blushed but instead of avoiding eye contact she straight away for a hug. James awed at their blushed state. "But if it was really scary, why did you go ahead with the search? Why not stop there?" Adrian said as he locked his arms around his precious Jennifer. "I felt the hurt in your eyes when you talked about your mother last time. I promised myself that I would not let you get hurt anymore. Not by your father. Not by Crystal. No one." Jennifer said and hid her face in Adrian's chest now.

"You both are so cute! The perfect couple!" James said. "Who was about to break up a few hours ago." Jennifer dropped facts.
